Indeed, Paul's words were intended for the unconverted Gentiles, that is, directed at past or *previous sins (Roemer **3:25**) before conversion.* But then, where would be the mercy for the injured and wounded souls if he were not just? If someone does something to your closest relative, *will not your neighborly love include the pursuit of restorative justice or compensation for your neighbor?* Since, for God, everyone is His neighbor, the pursuit of restorative justice is also included in His neighborly love. Love of neighbor is, as it were, justice, because it also strives for it. *For he who loves his neighbor also defends him against all injustice.* And from the one who has done wrong to his neighbor, one demands reparation or strives for a punishment for the violator, which gives satiation to the injured soul for the pain of the soul. Since God Himself is love, God's love is nothing other than the love of neighbor for us human beings, and in this is thus contained at the same time the striving for justice. Therefore, it is also written in the Sermon on the Mount: "Blessed they who hunger and thirst after righteousness, for they shall be filled.!"
