I was a honda man all my life entil 2021. Got a brand new yamaha kodiak 700 eps, se and love it. Im still a honda man at heart, i cant lie. There hard to beat.. i love plowing snow, its my favorite thing to do with my kodiak, your machine done awsome, that was a deep wet snow. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for this video. I'm dealing with similar snowfalls a few times a year in Maine. In my 8th decade now, even my 2 stage snow blower is becoming a bit of a struggle and I'm looking for an easier way. My gravel driveway is very similar to yours. It looks like this may work for me.
@avlisk the first year I left weight all season on the back of the atv. This year, I've added a few old brake rotors to the crate of weights, and remove the weight when not in use.
Im a honda guy(for atv's at least)but that reverse procedure is why i bought a polaris for plowing.would have gone yamaha if icould have found one near by.the rancher seems to do pretty well though
Do you have any issues with the belt at all? The shifting into reverse definitely was a learning curve to get used to while plowing... I think if I didn't have heated grips on there I'd be complaining about it haha.
I have same machine it's a 2016,they are a little work horse!! I have a windshield on mine, helps on cold days ,as well as heated grips also, hope you have good luck with little red❤
I wish my 2002 Rancher had heated hand grips. I have thought about seeing what the aftermarket is for heated grips but I dont know, just another thing to wire up onto it and the battery location sucks so much on it
I'm not sure if you are able to add them factory for that year. Mine were the grips and the accessory plug. These heat the thumb and the grip. I'm not sure I notice my thumb getting hot, but I don't notice it getting cold. The grips at certain settings and Temps actually start to feel hot, hot enough I have to stop and immediately turn them down a level. Try Honda parts or maybe a local Honda or motorcycle/ atv shop might be comfortable installing grips if you aren't. Good luck!
Open trail by KFI 54". I added the rubber snow flap on top. The winch is warn, I use synthetic winch strap during winter, and change it in the summer to "samout" brand synthetic, found on Amazon which is inexpensive and holds up fairly well. Once I got used to plowing with this it gets easier and faster, I'll have to get an updated video up here soon.
Hi this is the 24 Honda rancher 420. Semi auto foot shift, 4x4. It is the solid rear axle if your comparing machines, not the rear independent suspension. The plow is kfi, warn 2500 winch and currently using the kfi synthetic plow strap. The grips are the honda heated grips, they are really great to have.
@@Jamie_Outdoor I have 3 of the 2004 -2007 Honda Rancher 400 AT with optional 2 wheel / 4 wheel auto or manual electric shift on the handlebar machines. Awesome machines and have been very low maintenance. I wish Honda still built these machines.

Amazing I have a 19 rancher thinking about getting a plow. What is yours.

Can you share what options are on your machine? Automatic transmission, Electric shift, 2x4 4x4 option, motor size, etc.

I like your supervisor, he works like a dog…
She makes sure I do a good job!
Great dog, is that a 54 or 52 inch plow?
@Bartsnightmare thanks. 54" plow
Do you use chains. Great video.
Thank you! No, I don't use chains. I ratchet strapped about 60 pounds down in the crate on the rear rack to help balance the plow weight out.
@@Jamie_Outdoor thanks for the quick response.
