- Anna Thulin, MD, PhD, University of Gothenburg, Gothenburg, Sweden, comments on key insights into brain metastases in breast cancer, particularly in triple-negative subtypes where brain metastases occur in up to 50% of metastatic cases. Current adjuvant strategies are inadequate in preventing brain metastases. Emerging targeted therapies for ESR1-mutated metastatic patients are also addressed, emphasizing the unmet needs in this population. This interview took place at the 2024 San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium (SABCS) congress in San Antonio, TX.
