-baby powder really helps w hygiene and stretching time between showers, and helps prevent chafing -bring a pole and some kind of flag/ribbons/inflatable etc to fly above your camp so you can find it and not get lost coming back to camp -also bring a roll or two of duct tape ive done 4 camping festivals, 2 car side and 2 not- if I had the choice Id do car side and a tent attachment on my CRV
I have been a festival guy for decades. 2 or 3 a year. Now that I’m an old man, I prefer smaller festivals. Great list. Love that you addressed washing the dishes! CAR SIDE CAMPING is huge!! I don’t think I will ever do another fest without car side camping.
Great list ... i once forgot the tent. Had the poles, frame and rain flap..Duck tape, umbrella, and creative went a long way. Got tons of compliments on our site
Planning my first camping fest for this summer, my fiance has been lots of times but I have autism spectrum disorder and so I wanted to watch some videos to prepare me, and this series you made is awesome man!!!
Hey me too!!!! My boyfriend’s band and another band are going on tour and we’re gonna end up in VA for the festival! My boyfriends band isn’t playing the the festival but the other band (Friends in Hell) is !! I’m so excited !!!!!
lmfaooooo bro, idk if you remember me saying it but my cousin was in charge of the tent when i went to bass canyon, lets just say she got it from her sister, and it didnt have any tent poles XDXD, on the upside, i never realized how generous the edm community was and ended up getting invited to a hippy camp and they had an extra tent all set up and everything pillows, blankets, dab stations (plural), it was sick! morale of my story is, same thing happened, and i had 9 people offer me a place to sleep and it made me fall in love truly with edm community so to all those people out there reading this, dont stress if you end up getting there, and your missing a key component like tent poles! worst comes to worse, walk around and ask for extra supplies that they would not need, and rig something like i did for 3 nights! love the video bro! definitely helped me realize what i did forget and what i did smart as being a minimalist
That list is solid and very legit.I've been camping in all kinds of weather conditions and climates for decades now. I can verify that having and using a checklist is one of the best pieces of advice. Now that I got a fiance who tends to overpack for even trips to the cornerstore and a toddler daughter I've gotten a bit soft on personal packing discipline. We went on a big group/family trip up in the mountains last year a couple hours away. Right before we get to the spot I'm going through set up in my head when I realized I had left my sleeping bag at home. DOH!Luckily someone had a nasty poncho blankets in their trunk but it wasn't exactly pleasant compared to my North Face down bag. The blanket I was "lucky" enough to get to use smelled like feet, mold, and something else I couldn't quite place, was covered in unidentified animal hair, and was itchy as frig. In my defense I keep the sleeping bag in the linen closet because we've had rodent problems in the garage and attic. But I supervised my lady packing and was fully confident that she had been well trained so I didn't bother second guessing her prowess. No one to blame but myself for forgetting arguably one of the single most important pieces of gear LOL
Wagon, heck yes. My handcart even allowed me to go to Rock am Ring by train and bus shuttle with my gear ( Sure, I could have rented a car, but the festival was more adventurous this way😎🤘🏼
one thing i love to bring is those water jugs that have a reclosable spicket on them, you can get them at grocery stores and they hold about the same amount of water as a case of water, get 2 or 3 of them and you can use the spicket to have running water for washing pots and pans, hands, or filling up reusable bottles :)
Awesome video bro! Im planning on going to lost lands this year and the only thing im hesitant to do is tent camping and i cant rent or bring a car. Definitely gotta focus on traveling light when you dont have a car.
wow ok currently wearing that same tie dye moonrise shirt

Happy to see I'm not the only one who puts this much thought into packing for a festival! Lost lands was fun last year but I'm super excited to camp at Summer camp this year!
yo man im from philly, love the videos, gonna be hitting moonrise, lost lands and imagine this year so hopefully I bump into you at either LL or moonrise!
Thanks for this video! Definitely a lot of good advise! I am going to a festival later today so I am just making sure I didn't forget anything essential.
ever since my first time camping and a major storm hit and soaked everything in my tent, I keep all my stuff in plastic bins with lids. that's never happening again lol
This is going to help me so much when I go to Lost Lands. Me and my buddy are taking a truck for this fest so we will have plenty of space to store our shit. Plus our truck has a decked storage system with bottle opener so I'm gonna try and turn it into a party truck.
You can get portable phone chargers that will charge your phone like 6x without using solar. Bring that and you don’t have to worry about charging your charger each day.
Usually I carry them into the venue, that way if any scum goes through the campsite when you aren't there, they can't get into it if they found the keys. I recommend bringing an extra set of keys to give to a friend incase you do lose them.
Lanyard, Joggers with zip pockets, Stuff them in the bottom of your bag and never take it off. Those are what I do. If I am moshing i wont keep the lanyard around my neck because i have a shit ton of keys and its not fun to have 10+ keys pushed into your ribcage.
Make sure you bring water. I bring exactly 1.5 times what I know I'd need to drink for the weekend and by the last day someone always needs the extra water. Use the fest's water if it's good but don't ever rely on any fest having their water game together.
is that a bunch of old festival wristbands on your right wrist? thats' nasty bro, reminds me of that episode of family guy where Peter doesn't wash his hand after shaking the cereral mascot Boo Berry's hand for weeks and it starts growing a civilization on it
Going to my first 4 day camping festival this summer :) but I’m going by train so really don’t know how i can bring all my stuff along :/ especially the water will be a problem
Up ya butt... Nah, I sew a little stash pocket on the inside of my pants or shorts, little touch of velcro to hold it closed. Doesnt have to be perfect, just enough to hold the goodies from falling out.
Its not car side so know what ever you bring you have to carry up a mountain. Youll have to park on an off site lot then wlak your stuff to a shuttle to get to the mountain. Security will check all your stuff. Coolers, tents, bags etc. Hide your goodies well. Its campsites A-Z The deeper in the alphabet you go the farther away you go from the festival grounds.. Its in a water park so be ready to get wet. Also its on a mountain so try to arrive early for the best location. My first year I slept on an incline. Haven;t been since 2016 but plan on going this year! Wont have time to make a survival guide for bisco but will be doing one for Lost Lands!
I swear this is one of the best "what to pack" videos on yt. And I've seen a bunch
-baby powder really helps w hygiene and stretching time between showers, and helps prevent chafing

See you at lost lands 2019
You 're killing it. I like this video and have definitely done more then one of your tips in tricks when I get ready for a camping festival.
Great list ... i once forgot the tent. Had the poles, frame and rain flap..Duck tape, umbrella, and creative went a long way. Got tons of compliments on our site
first thing that caught my eye was the “Im a Fucking Headbanger”.. i’m watching this bc i’m going to LL 19, so thanks for the tips! 🦖🦕
Same brother :)
Me too
Planning my first camping fest for this summer, my fiance has been lots of times but I have autism spectrum disorder and so I wanted to watch some videos to prepare me, and this series you made is awesome man!!!
Great video, I'm headed to Bonnarroo this week. Didn't even think to set up my tent and have all my stuff together in the backyard as a test run.
Thank you man! Enjoy it out there! I'm heading to Canada for Ever After this week as well! WHOO!
Thank you! I'm going to the Blue Ridge Rock Festival in Danville, VA this year and this will be my first festival and I'm camping all 5 days 😁😁
Hey me too!!!! My boyfriend’s band and another band are going on tour and we’re gonna end up in VA for the festival! My boyfriends band isn’t playing the the festival but the other band (Friends in Hell) is !! I’m so excited !!!!!
@@okayariana Thats awesome! I'll have to check them out. What's your bfs band called?

This is a super thorough list. One pro tip I’ll share is... you can make a lantern by putting a headlamp (inside out) on a gallon of water.
GENIUS!!! THANKS!
Wagon, heck yes. My handcart even allowed me to go to Rock am Ring by train and bus shuttle with my gear ( Sure, I could have rented a car, but the festival was more adventurous this way😎🤘🏼
I'm hitting Bass Canyon and Freaky Deacky this year -both for the 1st time! Very excited an plan to use your advise! Thank you...
Just went to my first this past weekend (Moonrise) and having a wind chair was everything.
Hope you watched the Moonrise Festivlogs!
Going to my first festival this year! This is so unbelievably helpful (cus I've only camped once in my life hahaha). Thank youuuu
American festivals are such an alien concept for us Brits. 20 quid tent, few sets of underwear, a £1 poncho and a fuck tonne of booze. Job done.
Probably a bit late, but a wagon, (collapsible ) would be cool, get those from a box store.
Word, good tips big respect!
About speaker and light in the tent it is a big one.
“I actually stole this from my sister” lmao finesse life

i'm headed to DFT (Dancefestopia) in KS in September. Thank you for this!
See you there!!
Bonnaroo ‘21 thanks for the tips homie!🤙🏼

Ronnie Giusti hit me up on my socials if you’re ever gonna be in NYC!
Currently new to feats and I’ll be at LL this year and you’ve videos are informing and helped me. Kudos

Razzman I’ll be looking for this party truck!
From Australia, and I agree with the wagon lol
Finally! A "List Video" worth watching. At last, this isnt some girl talking about clothes, glitter and umbrellas.
Yes, exactly my thoughts
Tarp Slip N Slide "bath", funny but still a good idea!! I Like it!

You can get portable phone chargers that will charge your phone like 6x without using solar. Bring that and you don’t have to worry about charging your charger each day.
Where do you keep your car keys when you lock your car?
Usually I carry them into the venue, that way if any scum goes through the campsite when you aren't there, they can't get into it if they found the keys. I recommend bringing an extra set of keys to give to a friend incase you do lose them.
Invest in a lanyard, wear that around your neck
If I lose my keys I’m FUCKED, if they’re around my neck I probably won’t lose them lol
Bury them and build a tiny gravestone over it so you can find it later when you're rolling face, then dig them up when you leave.
Bring pants with Zipper pockets
Lanyard, Joggers with zip pockets, Stuff them in the bottom of your bag and never take it off. Those are what I do. If I am moshing i wont keep the lanyard around my neck because i have a shit ton of keys and its not fun to have 10+ keys pushed into your ribcage.
