Your Cell phone will use whichever network is available, not just the one you pay for. It will triangulate your position if it has 3 or more cell towers using the strength of each. Satellite phone again needs to wait til you have a sat, not a problem in LA. But is a thing in the south Pacific, so you can have the phone cut off if it can't daisy chain them together. The only thing with an EPIRB is a beacon with your ID and emergency, coded to a 15 diget number, so not great for you saying someone else has an issue unless you stay with them as it's just a beacon. Not a phone. Garmin and other Marine services do a version you can use. You just need to remember to take it

the people that dont pull over are the worst. 7:00. its so easy to let a faster car by. I do it all the time when theres a faster car and I'm humble enough to know that others may want to go faster than my already fast pace in cars like GTI or GT350R. Sometimes its randoms, but sometimes its other "car people" that dont let you by. the braindeadness or self-admitted assholeness is insane. esp when its a slow group like a harley group or other. the worst is when it leads to dangerous passing due to frustration like you point out. I appreciate the discussion.
