You guys have one of the BEST channels for sailors to learn while being entertained. Thank you both so much! I hope to see you on the water one day. Congratulations on your 6th anniversary and have a safe and Happy New Year 🎆!
Happy anniversary and Happy New Years, And thank you for the tip on raising the anchor. That is main thing I have struggled with since starting to sail. All your tips this episode are great
Anchoring in storms for me requires a constant stream of colorful expletives. Also Morty is losing weight that is awesome. I guess it might be extended contact with land based exercise.
He has lost so much weight, especially since we got to Baltimore and we started cooking for him!! He still looks super chunky in these videos I’m comparison to real time haha
@@RiggingDoctor if I understand you had the boom out the port side and the rudder to starboard which exposed the starboard bow to the wind, the anchor was down so there was no need for using sails as it was only for altering the direction the boat was pointing.
Are you guys familiar with Churchton? I have been trying to figure it out where I used to live back before school aged. I believe it was across the road from the Cape Anne sign. Seems like its all biult up from when my family was there in 1967. Dad was in the Navy, we used to have a 12 foot MFG and crabbed out on the bay. We want to take a trip towards that erea this summer, lots of work to get ready but thats the plan.😊
I love sailing. I have really enjoyed your channel as you crossed oceans. But I am not enjoying the ICW. I can't see me ever transiting the ICW. There is an ocean out there. That is where Wisdom needs to be.
We enjoyed the ICW a lot. We did four years of ocean. With the pets and Maddie’s seasickness, and our desire to see sites instead of just land in the distance, Wisdom needed to be in the ICW. There will be more ocean in the future, but this is where we want to be right now.
Nice tip about the loose sail going dead downwind! In fact, lots of great tips in this episode 👍. I'm happy you got your candy. 🙂
Always a pleasure to receive your latest story and informative tips 🙃. Good 🥂health🍷onwards into 2023 💕
Happy New Years! Can’t wait for what’s to come!!
Wow! Three very useful tips in one episode. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Lying at anchor you can see that Wisdom is a really pretty boat!
💥HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! 💥

That slack sail gybe idea is genius!
😎
Happy anniversary and Happy New Years,

So glad you enjoyed it!
Happy New Year, Folks! 👍👍👍
Same to you!
That’s a good tip using the boom out.
It’s really handy!
Does it only work with a current? If there is no current your boom will be dead down wind and there would be no leeward side??
Appreciate the great sailing tips! Happy anniversary!
Happy New Year to you both in 2023! Look forward to your continuing adventures with your sailboat and your journeys, thank you so much for this video!
Happy new year to you!

Cool! I just got the book Storm Tactics too
Such a good book. It has saved our bacon on several occasions!
Herby, I'm really amused that a dentist is really excited to visit the candy store 😁 Happy healthy New Year to you both. -Larry
Hehehe it’s like a doctor that smokes!
Happy anniversary, even though your videos aren't in real time! 😎👍❤
Oh! I forgot to wish you two a Happy New year! Love you both...steady on mateys!

"Happy New Years"
Happy New Year! Thank you.
I'm confused in that you say you have no sail up and also talk about having your Stay Sail up with the boom out.
When hove to, we would have the trysail up.
At anchor we have no sail up but the boom is acting as a sail in the high winds.

I had to look it up on a map and it turns out that I drive through it often!
Like the « self-gybing main »❤
Maddie...ever consider a catamaran to combat sea sickness?
I get just as seasick on cats and actually Herby even gets sick on cats. A lot of them rock even more
Many have a worse comfort feel, this really depends on the region types of waves.

So it's your anniversary in this episode. I'm guessing that this episode is about a year and a half ago. Today you have a child. Hmmm...
Time flies! It’s wild to think back on how different we were living just a moment ago
waste of time
Only a waste of time if you sail from marina to marina and never anchor.
Happy New Year!
