Nice little setup and I like how it fits in the bag. I also have a Pixie, it was the first little kit I put together before getting the Bitx40 and the uBitx. I have a video of me using my Pixie in the back yard with a 40 Meter QRPguys EFHW antenna. Then I moved up the QRP-Labs, QCX40 and a QCX20. Just this week I finished building the QCXmini for 40 Meters. Really like QRP and kit building. 73 from across the big pond. Juddie WD8WV
I know that this is a little older . I just got my pixie running . I have had 2 but the first one was faulty . It was just a kit . The last one was put together for me . Was about the same cost . No contacts yet . I have to change the crystal out . Just the laws in the states and I only have my tech ticket . Nice setup 👍 !
Hello fellow rider Mike, Thanks for the comment. I also moto myself but on a 2020 Indian cheftan dark horse. Hi Love the pixie. Made a few contacts with it and now is on display. It really is a beauty and a simple way to get on the air. All the best from France. Alin
Great video, I just got a Pixie with 9 crystals, I am learning CW and it seems like a great tool for practicing. Hopefully one day I can make a QSO with you using my IC-7100 or FT-950 from here in Colorado, US. Keep up the great videos, 73 de KF0CLZ
Hy Eric, Did not post a video for a long time. But will try. On the pixie will be hard to do a qso from France to Colorado but will try with a qro. Thank for the comment. All the best. 73
@@yo9jnx I wasn't expecting the Pixie to make it from France to Colorado. Maybe another combination of radios. It would be impressive if you were able during good band conditions. Only post videos if you want to and enjoy it. Best wishes to you too and 73
hello , it is a military surplus silver cable, it was used for telephone wires or detonators. i usually used it in dipole or long wire configuration. you can find them in France in surplus shops on like 100m rolls for about 5-10 euros.
hello Karl , if you will tipe on google CW beacon, you will get this page ( www.reversebeacon.net/ )and you have a cw spot page where you can get reports on your cw TX. Try to make a cq call on 7 mHz ,2-3 times and after serch your call on the web page to see how far can you get and in witch direction based on beacon reports . You will be surprised how far can you go with the pixie. You are right , there are no cw beacons to lisen (to go RX) on 07.023. thanks for the comment . 73 Alin

That's really cool, I appreciate that you posted the video. You said you did some internet mods on the kit? I'd be interested to know which ones. I have the same kit (I thought I bought it assembled, but I guess not! Ha) so I will likely build it soon. 73, KM6NHH
Hello Marc, You can find some kit modifications on the vk3ye page. You can also find a Bluetooth kit with this tipe of qrp rig... It is integrated on the board. It is a nice little weekend project to build. Hope you will manage to make it work. Gl 72 Alin

What is the configuration you use for the long wire with no tuner? Length for antenna and Length for counter poise? I haven't had much luck.
Thanks
You need a 9 2 1 ballun
would you give more date about the green cable you use as antenna?
