Here's another weekly English expression for you to practice!
In today's 'poo-py' episode, I am going to teach you the proper use of the English expression "the shit hits the fan" - seems 'smelly', isn't it?
Just by the expression itself, I think you may have an idea of its meaning. What do you think happens when someone throws that smelly matter at a spinning fan with everyone around it?
I am going to answer a question from @brayan.gariza where Brayan asks: "they study" vs "they do study" -- is there a difference?
Also, have you ever been to a 'poop museum'? Yes, there is a museum in Tasmania that showcases animal poop!

I am originally from the Philippines but now based in Germany, been learning German for quite sometime. In German they have a VERY similar expression "die Kacke am Dampfen" which means being in trouble. Learning a new language is beautiful.

g'day, how's it going? I have a question about the Australian 'Broad-A'. the excerpt below is from dialectblog website.
Speaking of Shane Jenek/Courtney Act (the Australian drag queen that served as the topic of my last post), I noticed that he uses a “short-a” in words like dance, France, and demand. That is, Jenek pronounces “dance” with the same vowel as “pan” (æ), instead of using the vowel in “harm” (a or ɑ). This is apparently typical of Queenslanders, as this lovely dialect map at Maquarie University’s website reveals. South Australians, meanwhile, tend to use a “broad-a” in at least some of these words. Why the discrepancy between the two regions?
It’s worth pointing out that even in Australian regions that use broad-a in such words, the phenomenon is less uniform than it is in, say, Southeast England. Linguists Barbara and Ronald Horvath study this very factor in A Geolinguistics of Short-A[1], and find that while Adelaide natives generally always use the broad-a in “plant”, this is common but not uniform with “advance” and broad-a in “dance” is fairly unusual (it occurs about 27% of the time).

my question is ----------- I would like to know if you also pronounce 'dance' with a short-a. And how would I know when to use the short-a and broad-a? Is there a rule? It would be very nice if you'd make a video about this topic.
Yeah, I'd pronounce it with the /ae/ vowel sound.

In US English, after r, flap t is used, e.g. party, immortal, mortar, martyr, etc.
How are these words pronounced in Aussie English? Should I use true t or flap t?

American English is just as different when comparing it to English as the way many colonial Australian's speak also my-friend, I understand that your not from the States but maybe u should have a go at the way american's speak English as its just as different as us Aussie peak-it if u haven't noticed but then again im thinking u would need an American friend to explain why they say cretin words just like us Australian eh but then again google would explain quite a bit anyway take care n great to have found some of your uploads. #Peace.
