I have a 2009 Ford Fusion, & the dealer here wanted $386 to replace the driver's side door handle. I ordered the part, watched your video, & installed it in about 15 minutes. Thanks so much for the video!
@@FusionKidd this was a Great video bro. Very well made. Liked how you sped it up in those parts. I put my new drivers side handle on yesterday. The only problem I had, is that the lock above the door handle stays open. When you hit the lock button on the key, it doesn't lock. I have to push the lock in, by hand. The rest works fine. I think my problem was with the white grooved part. After I put the round wire connection into it's spot, I then tried to snap the white grooved plastic piece in. But I couldn't get it to snap all the way down on the new handle. I think this is why the lock (above the handle) stays open when I put it back together. I'm going to do it all over again, to figure out why the lock doesn't stay at the "in"position, above the door handle. It shouldn't be in the unlock position. It's really minor, but I want it to be perfect. Thanks again for such a great awesome vid man 👊
Thanks for mentioning this Kris, because my 2006 Milan drivers interior door went yesterday and I came across this video. The whole time I was thinking, "Well that certainly LOOKS like my door handle that's shot!" while I was watching this. Went to carparts.com & found my part for $16.56. I can only imagine how they would ream me at the mechanics for this simple fix! THANKS, FUSION KIDD!!! (BTW... 54 yr old single Mom about to fix her OWN dang car.)
@@gabbygryphon the dealership charged me $30 for my 2011 Ford fusion hybrid driver door handle. Now to see what the bodyshop will charge or if I want to attempt this as his door is different than mine.
I just did mine a few minutes ago! I knew I was missing removal of a bolt for the driver’s side of my 2009 MKZ and it was just a matter of finding it! Once I found it the part was replaced and door back on and together in 3 minutes! Worked like a charm. I really appreciate videos like this. Next to search for spark plugs/tune-up and brake drum and pad replacement! Ugh! lol
I have a 2011 Milan as well and will be following these instructions to replace mine. I’m glad it worked for you, and thankful this guy posted this video!
Again, thank you! As you can see in the comments, I thanked you five years ago. I just had to reference it again for the passenger side door handle and the instructions came in handy again. Thank you!
Add me to the billions of others that found your video super clear and helpful. It took me 20 minutes on my 2010 Ford Fusion, rather than waiting 2 weeks to get it in at a shop and having to pay about $425. Thanks so much.
I replaced the front driver side door handle last week using this video. It worked great! My four year old son helped by handing me the necessary tools.
I got my door handle delivered to my home, from WalMart for $15.98 (including Tax & shipping). Note: if ordering from WalMart they sell out quickly, so check back from time to time if sold out. Then this video helped me install it in less than 30 minutes, I work slow, since I am a Disabled American Veteran. Thanks so much for the video!

THANKS TO YOU I FIXED BOTH MY DOORS ON MY 2012 FUSION ! as a 23 year old female i am very proud i was able to complete both doors for under $30 ! i was quoted at the repair shop to fix both for $250 - unbelieveable.. I cant thank you enough (:
I just had the driver side door handle on my 2012 Fusion break today and glad I looked this up. Great listing of tools needed and links to the part. Thanks much Fusion Kidd!
You’re a lifesaver! I ordered the part as you recommended ($19 rather than $60 at the dealer) plus saved $400 for installation by doing it myself. It was as easy as you said. For the drivers side 2009 MKZ there is also a 5/32 that needs removed under the inside door cup. Just use pick tool to pull up the rubber bottom to reveal the bolt. Thanks so much!
You are a life saver! Thanks so much for this very well explained video on how to replace the door handle. A repair that probably would’ve cost me several hundred dollars at a dealership, instead only cost about $15 for the part from Amazon and a small amount of my time.
I googled this, found your video and read everyone's comments and bought the part on Amazon for $16.88 and installed it in under 25 minutes. Mine was the driver side and it was still the same with a few more connections. It was so easy. Thank you so much for sharing this. It was so helpful and saved so much money. Thanks!
Thank you SOOO much for this awesome how-to-video. I have just enough know-how to be dangerous, but after watching this video was done in less then one hour (including time to get new part)
Thank you so much for this video!! Amazing. Ford dealer wanted $52 plus tax and another $300 to install! I don't have all the proper tools yet but if I can find them or borrow them from a friend, I will be doing this myself now thanks to you for $30!
Just used this video to replace my handle. 2010 Fusion Sport. This video was so in-depth and perfectly guided me through. Only thing I personally did not do was disconnect the window controls. Everything else was spot-on and thorough. Thank you.
Amazing step by step! I bought the door handle for my 2011 Ford Fusion weeks ago and since my husband has been working crazy hours I just did it myself! Thank you!
Great video.Wife and I just used this video to replace my driver's side interior door handle. We got the part for $8 on eBay. Your detailed instructions were huge for a first timer like myself. Thanks again.
Thank you for taking the time to show us how is done in this video. I changed the broken door handle of my car today following every step of your video. It took me about 15 minutes to get it done and spent less than $30!!! Thanks bro!
This isn’t the first time my handle has broken on my 2012 fusion and I was charged $250 by the dealership to fix it. This time I spent $12 on amazon and about 20 minutes following the video. Thank you man.
Excellently edited video, detailing tools needed, and speeding through screw removal, and demonstrating just how easy this job is! Thank you, Fusion Kidd!
Thanks for the details you included in this instructional video. I watched it multiple times and gave me the confidence to order the replacement and make the attempt. I completed the job yesterday, me as a first timer feeling proud and grateful. I got my tools together in advance with the exact sizes you advised. Thanks again.
I bought my part on Ebay for $14.50, it took about 35 minutes to change it out, but I thought that was pretty good for a 65 year old gal. Thanks SO much, my dealer wanted 400 bucks. $14.50 is WAY better!
PERFECT! You helped me so much and saved me a lot of money. I had 2 mechanics quote me $150. I bought the part for $22 and paid another $8 for an upholstery tool. I'll take that over $150 any day of the week! Thanks again.
This informational video was awesome. I followed his instructions and it was soooo easy and it took less than a half hour. If you need to replace your door handle, DO NOT PAY SOMEONE TO DO IT! Order your part online, Amazon or another retailer, pull up this video and be prepared to have a beer in less than half an hour. And it's not expensive to do. Thanks for your help!!
OMG I can't thank you enough for explaining and showing everything so well. I got the door handle part off ebay for 10 bucks and used my hubby's tools to surprise him with a fixed door! Thanks!
Thanks SO much! I was able to replace my door handle in no time! Had my 17 year old son with me to teach him something 😂 and he said that you were amazing at explaining everything. Made it EASY!
Thank you so much. Ford dealer tried to charge me $600 this week for 2012 Fusion passenger handle replacement. Bought part on Amazon for $12.99 and door trim tool for $10. You saved me!!
I agree with everyone who has posted about this being easy and taking only 15-20 minutes once you have gathered all the proper tools. Great video and worked for my 2011 Ford Fusion driver side front door, just a couple extra electrical connections that has similar tabs to push in on to release. Thank you for saving me $100-200!
Thanks to your wonderful video, easily replaced the driver's side door handle on my 2010 Ford Fusion for $22. I would never have attempted it without watching your very clear instructions. Very helpful that you listed all the needed tools at the beginning of the video. Thanks for saving me boo-coo bucks!
Thanks great! I hope to replace the driver side handle on my 2010 Ford Fusion. I'm really nervous cz I've never done anything like this before. I'm worried that I might break the clips when I remove the door panel. I've been watching videos like to help me get more confidence before attempting this.
Super easy to follow. I'm not particularly mechanically inclined and I fixed my 2012 Fusion's driver-side door handle in about 30 minutes by following this video. Thanks!
Perfect explanation. This video saved me a bunch of money. Bought the part off Amazon for 16.99. Took about 15-20 minutes to install. Very easy...even for someone who is totally inept about car repairs.
I just replaced my driver and my front passenger door handles today. You have saved me so much money. I appreciate the fact that you made this very easy to follow. I doubted myself and it took me longer than 15 minutes but I'm so happy that I was able to accomplish my goal.
Thanks for the instructional video, just finished replacing my 2012 Ford Fusion drivers side handle. Easy, 10 mins give or take, thanks again! FYI: Part cost $9.96.
I had to replace the driver door handle on my 2011 Mercy Milan. It's the identical part but the video I watched then showed having to remove the speaker 1st. Now the handle broke on my 2012 Ford Fusion. Glad to see I don't need to remove the speaker this time. Great Video! Thx!
Just installed my new handle on my 2011 Fusion with the help from your video. A 15 minute job that would have taken me hours to figure out without your great instructions!! Awesome! Thanks!!
Thanks Fusion Kid! Just fixed driver’s side of my 2012 Fusion in about15 minutes after watching your video. Ordered part from Amazon Prime for 11.99 yesterday. It arrived about an hour ago. Easy Peezy😎
Hey man thanks for this detailed video. I almost always take my car to my local Ford shop to get things fixed but, after just spending $1,200 on it a month ago, I was determined to do this myself. Took me a little longer than I thought since it was my first time doing this but it worked like a charm! Thanks again!
Thank you. Your video was wonderfully efficient. I wasn't particularly optimistic, but I found that I had all tools, your video was great, and Ford apparently made the fasteners such that they didn't self-destruct when I removed the panel. Fifteen to 20 minutes was all that it took. One thing that caught me off guard for about a minute was that I couldn't see the screw in the handle well. There was a removable rubber base held in place by gravity.
Thank you so much for this video. Got home from work today and my driver side interior latch stopped working. The outside handle worked. Got my part ordered through Amazon prime for just over 20 bucks, and it should be here this Saturday and I will attempt this repair myself. At first panicked thinking I'd have to take it in to get it fixed, but, then thought check youtube. Your video was the top hit on my search and I'm relieved that this is something I can fix myself and not let a shop or dealership hose me for a 15 min job and 20 bucks for the part.
I have a 2011 Ford Fusion and both my door handles broke...I watched your video and I was able to do it myself...thank you... thank you ...thank you....I saved so much money...and I can get out of my car without rolling down the window and reaching out lol...
I'm a 74-year-old lady who was able to replace the handle in 45 minutes after watching the video. I didn't remove the whole door panel. I pried the top a few inches away and a friend held it open while I reached in and removed the handle. One thing not on the video was the peg on the door panel that fits into the hole on the left side to stabilize it horizontally. That took a few minutes to remove and insert the handle. I didn't have to disconnect any of the electrical either. If I had to do it again, it would probably only take about 15-20 minutes. If I didn't have a friend available, I could have blocked it open with some wood. Thanks for a great video including exactly which tools are needed. The part was $12.50 on Amazon.
This worked great! Thank you so much for saving me money and time. A few white clips broke when I was removing the door, but it seems nice and secure after reinstalling.
Thank you for the easy to follow video, especially for someone who is new to fixing cars. I replaced my fiancé’s door handle in 10 minutes. Much appreciated!
First of all awesome to the point step by step video. For anyone in my situation which might not be anyone at this point. If you have access to a wrecked car such as in a junkyard or like in my case I had an 08 totalled out in the backyard. The problem was the front door handle was boogered up on it too. So using thus video as a guide I took the drivers side passenger door handle off just to see if it would work. It did but only after one modification. The part on the driver's door is longer. The black plastic piece that sticks out in the front part is longer on the front door handles. After comparing the two they are exactly alike other than this. As far as I can tell that is only there to help support the part once the door panel is replaced. I had nothing to lose so I modified the rear door handle to make it work. I had to take the whole tab off which I did with a wheel grinder. Ground it down flush. The reason I had to do that was because the door lock button assembly for the front door would not fit with that tab in the way. I installed it and as far as I can tell it is working perfectly. I know nobody is gonna need to do this but its good to know it can be done if you have a free part like I did. About 40 minutes of time, and a saw or grinder. Who knows maybe it won't last but it was free and I can always buy one if it breaks.
Just pulled into my driveway 25 minutes ago and door handle didn't engage when I went to open the door. I'm glad it's such a simple repair ! Excellent video, thanks !
Thanks for the great instructions & saving me at least $150. Your video made everything perfectly clear...and thanks especially for that warning about the door panel pop!
It was my Great Pleasure Fusion 😀 People like you, is What makes UA-cam etc., So Helpful, and Awesome !!! Anything one needs to know is a Few clicks away. Have a Great Weekend 👍👍
Thanks so much for the help. My fusions handle broke like this last weekend and I panicked about having to spend a bunch of money at a mechanic. Thanks for helping me save some of that money by getting the part and doing t myself! The tip about the temp fix by using your unlock button was great to know in the meantime too.
Excellent instructional video. I used it to replace the door handle in my daughter's 2007 Ford Fusion. The how-to details were great. Good Job and thank you very much.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I know this is an old video but came in so handy. Watched it twice and banged it out in less than 2 songs on the radio. So stoked. Little things.
I put a new handle in a 07 Ford fusion. Everything worked exactly like you showed in this video. Naturally (in my world) that wasn't the only problem. The new handle works great ! But the lock (when you open the door) stays out when you close the door. It won't lock with the key lock button. I have to open the door, get out, and push the lock in, THEN use the remote to lock (with the horn) and then it will stay locked. Each time I get out of the car, I just have to manually push the lock in .. Then hit the lock button on the remote ... Nothing is ever cut and dried in MY world, lol
Thank you I just followed your directions because It was so easy so I did not pay attention when I put it back forgot the put in the door cover first before put the handle cover but just unscrewed it. It is not big deal. Thank you.
Thanks, man. Followed your video and got my part from the same place you mentioned and the installation was a breeze. Now I regret putting it off for so long because rolling down the window to access the door handle on the outside was getting old fast!! Thanks again...
@@FusionKidd To bad you had to do this because I found a video that if you pull on the handly and the door lock mech. you can open the door regularly ... Ive going 8 months strong on the broken handle myself lol Local car shop watned $100 ... i told them to suckamynutz
Thank you for posting this! I couldn't open the driver side door from the inside so I would have to lower the window and pop the outside handle. After watching this vid... not anymore! Worked like a freakin charm!!
Thank you so very much for your video I actually had to replace the door handle on my driver side rear on a 2012 Fusion but nevertheless it was very easy to do and like you said with minimal Tools in about 10 minutes I had the new handle installed in a snap thanks for sharing your video it was a big help
Both of my handles broke about 1 week apart. Local auto parts store wanted $50 each for one of the handles; the other would take 1 week to get. Checked on online parts stores ($8.05 for one); Amazaon $18.50 for set of both handles, with free shipping, 2 day delivery. And retail stores wonder why they cannot stay in business. And easy to repair, especially with a good video. Nice job showing all items and procedures close up...and F-FWD through taking out a screw! :-)
LOVE the way you show all the steps, the tools required, and don't spend 15 minutes talking about non-related filler. To the point, clear = perfect. Received one today from Amazon. Cost was $12. They had another brand for $20, but why burn 8 bucks?

You told AND SHOWED ME IN ADVANCE WHAT TOOLS I NEEDED -)all the others guys start talking stuff I didn’t understand at all . Thanks so much you save me money I needed ..
Thx!
Thank you. I fixed my car door for $20 and in under 15 minutes. Awesome directions.
Thank you Sir, I will now be replacing the door handle on my 2012 Ford Fusion SEL 👍🏼
Just installed my new handle on my 2011 Fusion with the help from your video. A 15 minute job that would have taken me hours to figure out without your great instructions!! Awesome! Thanks!!
That's great! Glad to help!
Thanks Fusion Kid! Just fixed driver’s side of my 2012 Fusion in about15 minutes after watching your video. Ordered part from Amazon Prime for 11.99 yesterday. It arrived about an hour ago. Easy Peezy😎
Amazing how easy some of this stuff is and how much the dealers are willing to rip you off. Thank you for this demonstration!
Thanks for watching! That's good to know about the rubber base. I like your name btw haha
That's awesome to hear! Definitely let me know how it goes, good luck!
Thank you! I was able to dive right in and complete this in about 15 min with no issues because of this video. Thank you!
Great how to video, took ~25 minutes and saved a load of $. Special shout out to my wife, "Are you sure you can do this?" KMA!
2021 and this video is still helpful 💚 helped me get my 2010 driver side handle fixed
I have a 2011 Ford Fusion and both my door handles broke...I watched your video and I was able to do it myself...thank you... thank you ...thank you....I saved so much money...and I can get out of my car without rolling down the window and reaching out lol...
Thanks for the video. Just replaced our driver door handle by watching this and following your steps. Super easy and took only 40min! Cheers!
thanks for the video
I got my part for 11.99... and I order a few of the tools for 8 bucks... can't wait for Friday!!!
Thank you, very much! I had to replace the driver side handle on my 2009 Ford fusion and your video was perfect! I got it done in about a half hour.
Awesome video, man. I hate going to the garage for anything, glad to know that this is an easy fix that only cost $12.
I did this today on my 2011 Mercury Milan. Took me maybe 20 minutes. Thank you so much for posting this, you’ve helped out me and many others!
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Awesome how to video! Straight to the point and easy to comprehend! Very well done! Thank you!
Thank you! Glad to help
Exactly what I needed, nothing more, nothing less
This worked great! Thank you so much for saving me money and time. A few white clips broke when I was removing the door, but it seems nice and secure after reinstalling.
Thank you for the easy to follow video, especially for someone who is new to fixing cars. I replaced my fiancé’s door handle in 10 minutes. Much appreciated!
Thank you so much for posting this video. It went exactly as you explained it. I was able to replace my door handle with no issues.
So easy! Can’t believe I put off installing the new handles (I ordered long ago) for so long. Wish I had watched this sooner.
Thank you for the kind words! Have a great weekend as well!
Thanks so much for the help. My fusions handle broke like this last weekend and I panicked about having to spend a bunch of money at a mechanic. Thanks for helping me save some of that money by getting the part and doing t myself! The tip about the temp fix by using your unlock button was great to know in the meantime too.
Tyvm. Took about 6 minutes longer than your actual video. My job requires me to be in my vehicle the whole shift. Thank goodness it's fixed now
Thank you! Glad to help
Excellent instructional video. I used it to replace the door handle in my daughter's 2007 Ford Fusion. The how-to details were great. Good Job and thank you very much.
Thank you!
Great video. Made doing the repair super easy!
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I know this is an old video but came in so handy. Watched it twice and banged it out in less than 2 songs on the radio. So stoked. Little things.
Nice! Glad to help!
I love your presentation! Very straight forward, clear, and to the point! Many thanks!
Thank you! Glad to help
This video saved me 220 dollars. Thank you!
Thank you.
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Ill be getting my handle in today, thank you for the video! This will be much easier than I anticipated.
Thanks, man. Followed your video and got my part from the same place you mentioned and the installation was a breeze. Now I regret putting it off for so long because rolling down the window to access the door handle on the outside was getting old fast!! Thanks again...
Nice! Glad to help!
@@FusionKidd To bad you had to do this because I found a video that if you pull on the handly and the door lock mech. you can open the door regularly ... Ive going 8 months strong on the broken handle myself lol
Local car shop watned $100 ... i told them to suckamynutz
5 years and still going with rolling the window down to get out. Not for much longer.
Thank you for posting this! I couldn't open the driver side door from the inside so I would have to lower the window and pop the outside handle. After watching this vid... not anymore! Worked like a freakin charm!!
Nice! Thanks for watching!
This was our first attempt at a car repair and it went flawlessly with the help of this video. thank you!
Congrats! Glad to help!
Followed the link and instructions for my 2011, absolute breeze! Dealership wanted several hundred, crazy...
Your video was right to the point and detailed perfectly. Amazon had the part for about $12 and in the mailbox in no time. Many thanks again!
Glad to help!
Thank you so very much for your video I actually had to replace the door handle on my driver side rear on a 2012 Fusion but nevertheless it was very easy to do and like you said with minimal Tools in about 10 minutes I had the new handle installed in a snap thanks for sharing your video it was a big help
Thank you! Your video was very easy to follow. Saved me $300. I paid $10 for the handle.
Thumbs up for UA-cam. Having great people like you being able to show us how to do it yourself vids is awesome. Thank you for your video.
Thank you!
LOVE the way you show all the steps, the tools required, and don't spend 15 minutes talking about non-related filler. To the point, clear = perfect.
Received one today from Amazon. Cost was $12. They had another brand for $20, but why burn 8 bucks?
Your video was very handfull, i replaced the handle in 15-20 minutes and save a lot of money, thank you so much!
YOU ! ... are the best young man ! Omg I watched your video & as a woman you have the best advice & directions .
You told AND SHOWED ME IN ADVANCE WHAT TOOLS I NEEDED -)all the others guys start talking stuff I didn’t understand at all .
Thanks so much you save me money I needed .. AND I won’t have to wait for my son ... ha!
That's great! Glad to help!
Great video! Ford dealer wanted $144 for the replacement part, carparts.com sold me one for $25. You saved me a chunk! Process was very easy. Thanks!
Glad to help!
Thank you SO much, got mine replaced in 15 minutes and (hopefully) didn't break anything
That's great! Glad to help
