Number one cause of this problem is: Hooking up jumper cables in reverse. There is no $1.99 fuse to prevent this damage from occurring when incorrectly attempting to jump battery.....whether with cables or a jump box. So always be sure, no matter what vehicle you have, DOUBLE CHECK that negative IS negative and positive IS positive. Don't just rely on the colors red and black as people sometimes replace bad terminal end with wrong color.
My Saturn will crank but won't start when weather is cold. It only starts when weather is warm. Theres also a misfire and vehicle stalls and goes into security mode.
Hey bro I have a 08 Saturn vue 3.6l just replaced the water pump thermostat for over heating problems then the next day I drove it about 20 miles parked it went to the store woke up got in an it sounded like it started then juss turned off an now it won’t crank or start checked the volts to the battery checked the fuses had a Mecanic come out an he’s saying it might be the fuel pump but wen he was replacing the thermostat he had to move the ecm an it accidentally touched the wire to the battery made a lil pop but it started an drove good after that stilll any help would be grateful
I have the same problem with my Saturn vue and I found that the ground cable was getting hot at the battery terminal, I run an extra ground wire to the engine and chassis and fixed the problem. Probably a bad factory ground.
@@luisramos5330 I did not. The car was running fine after I fixed the ground issue I don't know exactly if that was the cause of the problem but I'll recommend you to check your car and see if you have the same problem.
Hello I have a 2009 Saturn vue , the alternator and starter have been both replaced but it will only crank up for about 30 mins before shutting off or not even turn on after it being turned off ?
My 08 won’t start jus bought had one day. Check engine light on. Dash lights on . No start. No sound when starting..been less than 24 hrs 🙄woman sold my poor ten a lemon..help pls😭
Make sure it's in park all the way, Try pushing forward on the shifter. Sometimes they don't engage in park all the way. Next make sure battery is fully charged. If it is a starter problem would be my next check.
@@diyracing3049 ok..thank u for replying..will tell hubby when he gets back. he jus left to take battery to get checked at autozone ..he checked with the in-house charger we got but jus to make sure. 🤞🏽😬 hope it works or at least a cheep fix
@@diyracing3049 I'm having the same problem on my Vue. Were you able to find a replacement connector, new or salvaged; or were you able to repair the old connector to work with the new ECM/PCM? I know this is an old subject, so any advice is very much appreciated.
@bigbaldbob1250 I depinned a old used connector and just used the pin from the used connector and spliced the wire. I've done this several times with many different connectors.
I use a J2534 and the GM website. Basically you pay a fee to use the website to access the flash needed and loaded it to the car with a labtop and the j2534 tool.

Did you have to replace the ECM or PCU after hooking up the ground wire?

Did you find out why? My Vue does this same thing. I’m going to check to see if mine is melted as well.
Where is the water port for that battery

@@diyracing3049 battery good n other thing u mentioned..hopefully starter he knows how to do those
So did you ever find out the source of the problem?
Pin fitment. I replaced the pcm and terminal no issue 1 year later. Loose pin fitment caused high resistance which melted the pin.
