To prevent damage to your hair, you should use volume 10 on your (magenta dyed) hair part. (volume 10 is to deposit hair color on lighter lifted parts of hair-this doesn't open your hair shaft as much). Don't do roots till 20 minutes after you have dyed the bottom part of hair. After those 20 minutes, touch up roots with 30 volume developer for 10 minutes. Finally, with a light color safe paraban n sulfate free shampoo, use the, "After Color conditioner" by Ion. (This will close the hair shaft to help keep the color to last longer.
Not really, just use adore in the color magenta and it gives you the same color. Is semi permanent and is vegan and cruelty free and cost like 5 dollars. So you just retouch your roots like usual but when it comes to color the rest of your hair you use the semi permanent hair color.
They say you're not supposed to do your ends every time or full the full time because your ends will keep getting darker over time. And all your new hair/roots thats growing in will be bright and vibrant and you could have what we call hot roots and the ends are dark. So do your roots first and apply to the ends like the last 10 mins of your processing time to refresh those ends.
I get hot roots when I do them first and it looks horrible. I always do my middle part and ends first, let them sit 20 mins and then do my roots and let them sit like 15 mins so they look tiny bit darker than the rest which is how our natural hair looks and also it looks better once my natural hair starts showing. I guess we all find what works for us and stick to it even if it's different. ☺️
I did my hair exactly how you did yours, 4 times to even get mine to be noticeable cause i had black hair dye before. I was gonna retouch before the holidays and do exactly what you did but a friend of mine has her license in hair and told me not to keep using the loreal cause it keeps opening your cuticle and damaging your hair 😕 it looks like it worked great for you. your hair is so beautiful and long and healthy looking i love it ❤
wow 4 times! it is hard to lift the red out of black dyed hair. That's great that have your professional hair stylist friend, yes listen to her. lol i'm glad that it worked for me. Thanks for the compliment love! Have a blessed day ;)
yes i did that lol. i used one of those bleach spray. sounds bad but at least it comes off haha. and then later someone told me to use rubbing alcohol which works for them.
I had my hair dyed red at the salon, and my roots have grown out a little, but the stylist wants to said it would cost me the same as the first time I got my hair dyed when I all my hair was dark brown. I think I’m going to do do it myself, and I wasn’t happy with the service
You should apply to roots first if it’s a touch up and than with what’s left over do a soap cap with in the last 10minutes of processing so you don’t damage your ends. Other wise you will have fried ends
hey girl! the shampoo i use is John Frieda " radiant red" shampoo. it works really good and makes your hair look vibrant. i couldn't find their john frieda conditioner so i used another conditioner brand by Loreal Paris color vibrancy conditioner. it makes your hair soft. Thanks girl!
Subscribed and liked! So how did you do the hairstyle for this video after you washed your hair out? Im getting married soon and im trying to figure out what im doing with my hair. I just love this do! How do you do it? Could you make a how to please? I'd really really appreciate it
aww thanks so much!! Congratulations!! When are you getting getting married? I'll do a new video soon on how I did my hair in this video since I haven't done it one yet.
Your hair is so long ....... mines just below my shoulders..... if you leave it on for 40 min ..... how long should I wait between putting it on my roots if I've covered all the bottoms in 10 min? Thx 😁
Itll be the same but I wouldn't use the loreal again on your already colored hair, only on the roots. Since this dye requires developer itll eventually dry out your hair. Use a demi color dye to give it color back
I love red hair but can’t maintain my roots! They last two weeks tops 😞 Can you tell me how you keep the color from staining your scalp? I’m currently in love with manic panic but it’s a pain to get off your skin/scalp and loves to wash right off my fresh new roots 🤷🏻♀️
awww it only last 2 weeks. i would hate to touch ups every two weeks. you can keep the color from staining your skin is rub some vaseline on your skin/scalp before you start dying your hair. it really works! because it has an oily texture and would be hard to get dye stick to your skin. I'm planing to use manic panic on my next touch up. what color do you use?
illestjoanne I absolutely love Fushia Shock! I’ve used it over and over for the last few months and I’m usually one who changes up my hair so often. I’m addicted to this color ❤️ It’s red, pink, sorta purplish. Just depends on what you’re wearing, the sun, your skin tone. I think you could rock it! I’ll try the Vaseline on my scalp. I already use it on my skin but wasn’t sure about applying it directly to the scalp. I’m afraid it’ll interfere with the coloring process? 🤷🏻♀️ oh, btw- I never use a toner with MP. Just the color and conditioner. Much less damage to the hair. 😘
Hello, My hair is black ( never dye it ) and i want to use this product Magenta of course, so is my first color ( i mean black ) will ever return back ?!
Your hair will grow out but the hair that you color will only go back to black if you dye it black. This lightens your hair while depositing the red, or else the red wouldn’t show up. It will not wash or fade out to your black no
i had it on for 40 mins. but you must check your hair like every 15 mins because sometimes your hair either need to stay on longer or not. it depends on people
I know you said you left the dye on your hair for 40 minutes but how long into the process did you apply the red to your roots? Because I know that your roots will lift faster than the rest of your hair. I plan on dying my hair this color! So pretty on you thank u for the vid!
Ughh I'm in love I dyed my hair magenta and red mixed and I got like a plum color but in sun it was pretty bright I love it but now that it faded it looks brown again? And I have a fuckin spot on my roots were it's like a pretty magenta would j recommend I do my roots first then downard?
No dont do your roots 1st go from bottom to top...because your roots process faster then your bottom hair so if you do your roots first your roots are going to look really really brighter then the rest of your hair ...your welcome😂🙏🏻
I never seen it turns to ugly brown because I’m always retouching it. I don’t let it fade to brown but I am guessing it will turns ugly brown if you don’t retouch.
With this product it does. I had super dark hair with 10 years of pure henna and I pulled to a vibrant red with one application of 30 volume. This stuff is dynamite.
Your hair are really awesome and your beauty is absolutely amazing, my dear friend! I subscribed to your wonderful channel and I hope you liked mine! May God bless you always!

That's what I do and my hair is healthier and it match my roots.
Thank you I was thinking the same thing. ❤️
Can i just do 20 developer to avoid hot roots instead of 30 and the rest of the hair 30 vol developer??
They say you're not supposed to do your ends every time or full the full time because your ends will keep getting darker over time. It works better to dye the bottoms first, with red hair.
Wow, you put a lot of work into this but your efforts paid off with gorgeous results.
thank you! yes definitely paid off
THE MOST HELPFUL VIDEO ON LOREAL HICOLOR HILIGHTS OMG! THAAAANK YOU
I did my hair exactly how you did yours, 4 times to even get mine to be noticeable cause i had black hair dye before. I followed your tutorial and my hair looks amazing!! Thank you so much!!💜💜💜
Will you get hot roots ? I’m scared about that
I love nice long hair. But I especially love reds. Your hair is beautiful 😍
Lol I did the exact same thing 😂 I have no patients to go back and go section by section for the roots. Hey it works 👍🏼😊👍🏼
did you get hot roots because im scares about that. how long did you process everything for ?
You can use hair spray to clean off any hair dye on your skin.
yes i did that lol. i used one of those bleach spray. sounds bad but at least it comes off haha. and then later someone told me to use rubbing alcohol which works for them.
I had my hair dyed red at the salon, and my roots have grown out a little, but the stylist wants to said it would cost me the same as the first time I got my hair dyed when I all my hair was dark brown.

That hair color is beautiful on you!
thanks love!

Nah cuz then you're gonna have hot roots! 🔥 they way she dose it is 👌👌👌 perfect!
I am missing my super long hair right now 😩 😫 😢 Also I love the color!! Im definitely going to try this! 🥰🥰
Woaw, you look great with hair dye. I want to get that color dye
Love your hair, question every how often do U wash it and what shampoo do u use to care for your hair?
I love that she mentioned she waited 40
Minutes ♥️
this was super helpful and i have the exact same dye! thank you
After you did dye your hair, did you wach with shampoo and conditioner? Or Just warm water i need to know please
My roots grew out and I want to dye my whole hair red but I’m scared because I don’t want it to be 2 colors or overlap what should I do?
Use a lower volume of developer for the roots or start from mid shaft of your hair then ends and leave your roots for last
Wow you’re hair is amazingly perfect & beautiful 🤩🤩🤩
What shampoo and conditioner do you use? Also, how do you rinse the dye out? Do you shampoo? It’s so gorgeous! 😩
hey girl! the shampoo i use is John Frieda " radiant red" shampoo. it works really good and makes your hair look vibrant. i couldn't find their john frieda conditioner so i used another conditioner brand by Loreal Paris color vibrancy conditioner. it makes your hair soft. Thanks girl!
illestjoanne awesome! Thank you so much for answering! I need to do my hair again and I think this is the route I’m going!
that's awesome! let me know how it turns out.
Omg!!!! Im in love with the color
thanks love!
I love the color!! Im like a medium blonde would this work on my hair or would I have to go lighter than color it with the magenta color?
It will definitely work, the hair color she used is for dark hair.
How do you get it so vibrant? I seen other girls and their hair looks very dark or dull.
@@illestjoanne sweet thanks. Im getting married next month. So im scrambling to get everything done.
Your hair is so long ....... mines just below my shoulders..... if you leave it on for 40 min ..... how long should I wait between putting it on my roots if I've covered all the bottoms in 10 min? Thx 😁

You are so funny cracking your fingers lol 😆 I love your hair and thanx for sharing 👍🏼
Your hair is pretty 😍
How do you maintain so it doesn’t fade fast? Also what you use before using heating tools?
wash it in cool water. use a shampoo that is for color treated hair. i use heat protectant spray. you can use any brand.
what shampoo and conditioner do you use girl?
How long you wait to start the roots after you finish the already dyed hair?
What shampoo do you use
Yes I love it my hair is matenga too
How do you get rid of the scalp stains?! I have a pixie cut and you can SEE it.
Beautiful Hair!
thank you!!
Do you wait to dye your hair ever 2 months..? Does your hair feel damaged..?
No it’s doesn’t get damaged dying every 2 months
Absolutely gorgeous hair
I have a question. My hair is magenta already but it has faded out since the last time I did it. If I reduce it will the color look different or no ?
no the color shouldn't look different.
Itll be the same but I wouldn't use the loreal again on your already colored hair, only on the roots. Since this dye requires developer itll eventually dry out your hair. Use a demi color dye to give it color back
It’s BEAUTIFUL OMG GORGEOUS
This color is 🔥🔥 on you love it!!
thanks love!
I love the hair color I tried it but my hair comes on bright bright I used everything just what You used what am I doing wrong
oh noo! did you leave it on too long? Did you check on it while you wait? because usually if you leave it on too long, it will get brighter....
I do check on it but it’s the same color and my hair is just like yours thick long 😞

pink.
How did you get your hair so long
I just don't cut it often and just let it grow.
Joanne Le that’s good to know people always tell you to cut. I dyed mine because your video was so easy to follow. Thanks!
Yea people always tell to cut like every couple months. Oh that’s awesome!

It’s great how your roots are so well done with this product. Wahooo. Like amazing.
Beautiful color. ❤❤😍

Tara Wethington use a wet wipe on your scalp after washing it.
Awesome thank you, and your hair looks awesome girl!
If I bough 20 vol will it still wrk.
Yes
20 vol is what should be used for applying any color :)
Hello,
My hair is black ( never dye it ) and i want to use this product Magenta of course, so is my first color ( i mean black ) will ever return back ?!
Yes, you can dye it again when red is totally faded or wait just your natural regrowth. (srry for any mistake, I'm Italian not English😂)
Your hair will grow out but the hair that you color will only go back to black if you dye it black. This lightens your hair while depositing the red, or else the red wouldn’t show up. It will not wash or fade out to your black no
When u washes ur hair, does your color wash out nd fades out? My hair does, thats y im asking
the color does bleed and BUT it won't fade much if you use COLD water. lol
Do u have layers on ur haïr ?cause it's hard Tto tell which hair cut
yes just a little.
Beautiful hair looks 🔥
When your color fades out is it a orange or pink undertone? 😀
Betty94 the magenta color fades more into a pink undertone! 🙂
pinkish or brown for me!
How long do you keep the dye on for ?????
i had it on for 40 mins. but you must check your hair like every 15 mins because sometimes your hair either need to stay on longer or not. it depends on people
Im your biggest fan... i luv u n ur hair
