- Oh my word... this man is just growing in leaps and bounds at the moment! That very emotive tone of his voice, together with the raw vocal and expressive skills he's displaying, has made him one of my top 3 favourite singers still left in the competition.

All I can say is I have never listened to any Idol Contestant or any singing competition performance more than this rendition of “the Party’s over”….this was my 6th time hearing it. So, while I enjoy others…Fritz feels like Girl Named Thom…something your ear wants to hear because they make your heart feel something.

I’ve watched most of his performances over at least a second and third time and then watched other performers with the same song and compared - always liking his version better because of his emotion and connection to the songs. Girl Named Tom was also my favorite for the recent Voice contest!
I thought I was the only one!!! I lost count already as to how many times I've listened to it.
Fritz has become one of my favorites because he has his own style which is pleasing to the ear

Fritz is a rare singer - he is authentic. These two performances really touched me deeply. It made me feel what he is feeling. Fritz conveyed his heart to us the listener is a very real and connective way. He is one I look forward to hearing as this season progresses.

Fritz went to school for musical theatre. I don’t know if he graduated but he clearly has had substantial vocal training. Fritz and Leah Marlene are favorites too.

Can you imagine him singing “Being Alive” (Company)? Saw him in Newsies as a teen, he has great musical theater instincts. Interpreting songs. Hope he still has theatrical aspirations.

He became my favorite male singer too and what I appreciate about him the most is that he doesn't over sing.
I absolutely like Fritz…from his audition onward..his lyrics to his original songs, the way he interprets the lyrics of others and uses his voice and musical ability to enhance the words of others, he feels them. I like his vulnerability and accessibility ..and being a ‘grandma ‘, I absolutely love The Ocean… he tells a story exquisitely

Fritz is my favorite this season. I was sorry he did not win. I love his rendition of Golden. I had never heard it before so I had to look up Harry Stiles version and I like Fritz's version much better. It is very interesting to hear your dissection of what makes these songs so pleasing to the ear.

This performance was stunning. I really wasn’t feeling Fritz, until this performance. When he goes falsetto with “quiet when I’m coming home…..” and then follows up with the chorus. The tone, the feeling, the emotion, the artistry…Wow!

I was so hoping it would come down to Leah & Fritz for the finale . They are Both so Amazing in so many ways. They check off all the boxes for this competition. Song writers , musicians, Amazing Vocals, Sweet , fun and enjoy their craft so very much. Leah Marlene for my American Idol Winner 🎤❤ this year because she has the Best Vocal range, Stage presents & her personality is so Fun and sweet.
Love your reaction, analysis and commentary! Fritz and Leah are definitely my two favs. After watching him do Wonderwall last night, I tuned in to UA-cam to watch it again. Fast forward to about an hour later and I have literally watched his journey and every performance from his audition until now. Tears rolling down my face with gratitude and connection to his voice and story. Watching him grow has been so inspirational! Go Fritz!!!!

I couldn't agree more that something has changed with Fritz. His last to performances really showcased, not just his vocal and performing talent, but how genuine he is. I would love to see him win.

So many hundreds of singers appear on these shows, and so few ever seem to really register or connect. Way beyond style or technique, Fritz sings from his heart and straight to ours.

Right off the bat- my first favorite this season - just like Girl Named Tom was my first favorite on the Voice. There is one other guy I’m starting to like as well and just like you said it’s because he also shows his vulnerability and is authentic and yes ! I think that’s what people connect to . And also the judges. They’re not just going for the voices that produce big hard-reaching outcomes! Because of this - I’m now affectionately renaming this show ( at least for this season) EMOTIONAL IDOL

These two performances to me are huge moves forward for him. The first song REALLY showed his emotion and connection to the music, and he performed it beautifully.
The next song for me shows him with a newborn confidence gained from the performance before it.
I just really love his passion, attitude and really has a great energy and skills. Engaging and easy to listen to. Great voice, lots of color.

I am a professional singer who is gobsmacked by this boy. His EP with a track called “Ocean” is mesmerizing. We keep playing him over and over.
Loved Fritz's performance too. You said it perfectly. Fritz is an authentic musician who sings emotionally and honestly. All of the greats did that: Judi Garland, Michael Jackson, Luthor Vandross, Beyonce, Liza and the list goes on.

Fritz and Leah quickly came out as front runners for me. They both sing with such emotion and connect well. I hope Leah can go all the way now that Fritz is out.

"Golden" seemed like a victory lap after his jaw-dropping performance the night before. That young man could sing a chemistry textbook and I would purchase the song and put it on repeat. I agree with you about Fritz turning a corner on his way to being star. I may be wrong but I though Noah could have gone two or three rounds ago. I just did not see in him which was awesome about the growth of Fritz and Leah Marlene.
His take on the Billie Eilish song reminded me... He'd sound amazing singing, Falling Slowly! Fritz, Leah & Tristan (imho) the most vocally talented.

The maker of this video: could you please do a full and detailed comparison video of who sang it best between David Phelps singing his cover version of O Holy night live at a concert with Bill and Gloria Gather which you reacted to some time ago vs Carrie Underwood also singing her cover version of O Holy night live for the Tonight show starring Jimmy Falloon. Again in this video i would love to hear your opinion as to which of these two singers sang this song the best and why (Carrie Underwood or David Phelps). However, could you please combine the two performances together in one video and then after listening to both performances give your opinion as to which of them sang this song the best and why. This should be a heavenly.
