For those of you wondering, the first Appaloosa shown is called a "Peacock" Appaloosa and is technically the rarest appaloosa. The dalmatian looking appaloosa is called a "Leopard" Appaloosa, and the spots on a "Leopard" can also come in chestnut brown! =)

Or black or Bay or palomino or buckskin or any other color.. I was going to say the same thing about Wicket.. I personally think the ApHC should refuse to register any more of his foals to stop the deliberate breeding of inferior horses. It makes me angry because I have seen multiple ads for him claiming he is HYPP negative.. when in fact he is HYPP N/H, meaning that any mare he breeds IF they are tested HYPP N/N STILL have a 50% chance of testing HYPP positive, if he is bred to a mare who is also HYPP H/N the chances go up to at Least 75% and chances are you are going to get a positive foal. It is a HORRIBLE disease and can and often does lead to death due to either cardiac paralysis or bronchial paralysis. It’s absurd that they continue to breed him. I would NEVER breed one of my mares to a horse that tested positive I don’t care how unique they look

Appaloosas are VERY common. The rarity is in the coat pattern! A peacock appy and leopard appy (which coincidentally he showed in this video) ARE two of the rarest if not THE rarest coat patterns in the breed, followed closely I believe by a varnish Appaloosa. I have NEVER seen a peacock appy in real life and have only met 1 varnish and 1 leopard Appaloosa in my life. I’ve been doing the horse thing for 15 YEARS, I’ve met hundreds of horses, that’s how rare special coat patterns can be.

The full spotted white and black spotted Appaloosa isn’t a Appaloosa that’s a Knabstrupper it’s a different breed and is pretty rare and expensive. They are not the same breed. Also Appaloosa though is considered a breed at times is more of an coat coloration than a breed and can appear in many types of breeds, like paints and pintos. Another thing is that though appoloosa can and may have spots all over there body typically they will most of the time have spots purely on there rear it’s the most common pattern for them.
I just wanted to come out and correct this common mistake. 😊
Edit read reply for correction of my mistake.
Just in case it’s not there. Someone very nicely corrected my stupid error so here.

There are many “spotted” breeds of horses, the Appaloosa who have lots of different coloured & patterns in their coats, like, leopard spot, snowflake, blanket etc. There is also the British Spotted Pony. The Knabstupper is a Danish breed. There may be differences with Knabstuppers and Appaloosas such as the spots on a Appy must be separate and cannot touch another spot, but on a Knabstrupper the spots may touch and merge into each other. There is also the Nez Perce Horse, which can also have spots but is not an Appaloosa.

Akhal-Teke is a true rare creature. It’s about 3000 purebred horses in the world. Half of them are in Turkmenistan. They consider a Turkmen national treasure, their image on the national emblem and on the banknotes. It’s one of the oldest horse breeds, was bred around 5000 BC. Their coat always have an golden or silver undercoat, this why they looks like silk. Akhal-Teke holds a world records in long jump and high jump. They are a true treasure.

Theres hundreds of thousands of them. Not a couple thousand... There really isn't a rare horse brake there are rare colors but actual breeds no not really... I mean if you really really want to get super technical and pissy about it Then yeah they are a rare breed but in reality they are not.... My neighbor has a monster Clydesdale named Big Pete. He is a gentle giant. Early one morning a Razorback wild hog was rooting around in Big Pete's pasture and got right up behind Big Pete. Well Pete just was not having it and kicked the hog square on his head. I had never seen a hog fly before but this 300 plus pound hog did. 6 complete back flips with its entire stomach contents flying out of its mouth. Big Pete's rear hoof, the size of a beer keg, crushed the hogs Skull and broke its neck and back. I have never seen that much blood, Brain matter and chunks of bone flying through the air. It looked like a moving Jackson Pollock painting. Splatter fest. However he loves my teenage daughters so much he follows them around like a huge puppy and is so careful and gentle with them.
He is the most beautiful majestic horse I have ever seen. A dozen carrots and a few sugar cubes and you have a one ton puppy friend for life.

@@unikornsandsatan nope! Coats like Cremellos, pearlino have pink skin, they aren’t white. Cremello appears to be in the video, the one I see y’all are referring to. ☺️ There’s many ‘white’ formalities people mistake as actually white. Dominant white, for example, is a coloured horse. A piebald for example but the white patch in that coat dominates over the black, covering the entire horse. You can either see a small patch of the black or none at all. Depends on the horse. Horse genetics are very interesting. Obviously you can call them white, it’s just not really genetically correct. Dominant white may have white in the name, but the horse itself is not actually white. There is also something called lethal white, but given the name, you can guess what that gene does... I’m a nerd🤓. So sorry if this seems long, thought I’d explain a tad of it.

Majority of the time they are not anywhere near 100K. Appaloosas are not rare, and they originated from the Nez Perce indigenous tribe not U.S settlers. What do you mean “riding and doing tricks”?? Weird description. Half the horses that you said were Belgian Draughts were indeed not, and they do not mature at 6 foot 10. The current tallest living Belgian Draught is Big John, standing at 6ft at the wither or 20hh. This horse breed is also not rare.
