Shia looks like Inigo Montoya
That’s what I was thinking!
He kill my father......prepare to die!!!🤣😂🤣😂
He is identical to magician, Doug Henning.
or Frank Zappa
I was just about to comment the same thing before I saw your comment 😂
Shia LaBeouf is a pretty good actor someone should put him in a movie.
Julia Near! its a joke...
Julia Near! You haven't been on the internet for a long time have you? :3
+Kenazzle JUST DO IT!
+Remi Myrdal JOTHINGE IMPOSSIBLE!
+Kenazzle LOL
The show that they are spoofing is "Match Game."
Shia is impersonating Doug Henning- a hippie magician who was big in the 1970's. Armisen is impersonating Paul Lynde, Also impersonated are Brett Somers by Amy, Fannie Flagg by Kristen, and Nipsey Russell by Kenan.
Underrated comment.
Thank you :)
Kristen doesn't look like Paula Poundstone in this
I think Kristen might be Marcia Wallace
fuck you..............it's an impersonation of charles nelson reilly, not paul lynde................paul lynde was never on the match game
Shia is actually pretty funny
He's very very funny
He was hilarious on even stevens
duh?
When he's not being a crazy person.
yeah he didn’t just get on evan stevens family because of his boyish looks lol 💕
So weird seeing Hader being the straight man.
Right?? V strange
Is it? I feel like Hader proved himself the most versatile utility player the show had since Will Ferrell. He could do pretty much anything.
@@FishbowlPhenom will Ferrell is versatile? Then why does he only do the same incompetent manchild schtick?
@@tyrant-den884 You're confusing Movie Will Ferrell with Sketch Comedy Will Ferrell. Go back and look at Ferrell's run on the show, and it's clear that he was very malleable at matching various tones and comedy styles wherever he was needed. He was the wacky manchild type at times, yes, but he also played the straight man quite often, too. Every cast needs at least one. I'd argue Phil Hartman similarly filled this role.
Straight? 🤔
i think his whole ploy was to act innocent and hide in the body bag, so when they find his DNA he can say it was because he was laying on him.
Big brain thonkin’.
this show was in the 70s. DNA analysist for crime wasn't exist or even sanctioned by justice dept as legal evidence back then.
"This week, on Buzzfeed Unsolved........"
This show was from 2008, the detective is from the present, when it aired on SNL. The game show somehow slipped out of their time in the 70s, that's one of the reasons that everyone in the show is so disconnected.
Oh, that pesky dna
The combo of Amy Pahler and Fred Armisen is hysterical.
Yes they nailed Brett and Charles!! Shia was really good too!!
Much like the original Brett and Charles they were hilarious. Wish they could've had Richard too.
Amy was having too much fun😂😂😂😂
This was one of SNL's best skits ever! Fred Armisen's take on the guy from Hollywood Squares is perfect and Amy Poehler's drunk lady with the hoarse voice was magical!
🤣 *Fred is really supposed to be Charles Nelson Reilly; but, he does add a lot of Paul Lynde into that characterization!* 🤣
@@MarkLipka yeah it was much more Paul Lynd, I think he got confused or something
Amy is doing her best Brett Somers. She was on Match Game all the time!
@@MarkLipka think you might have that backwards
@@MarkLipka If he was going for Nelson, he should be wearing big glasses.
THIS IS WHERE THAT GIF CAME FROM?! Lmao
I didn't even know it was Shia Lebouf until now.
Meme
What gif?
@@BlueBird-wb6kb 2:46
I didnt know about that gif either, had to google it
I didn't know there was a gif
Shia's shimmy at the end when the credits roll, is everything.
I'm an old man, so I'm laughing at this parallel universe version of Match Game.
Armisen killed me. Holy damn....'I'm ma-h-a-ha-hariiieeed' *shakes*
Fred Armisen's Paul Lind impression is beyond hilarious! Lol
I second that
Third
4th
Nope not Paul but Charles Nelson Riley. I take it you never saw the original MG.
charles nelson
If you are over 40 this sketch is your daily childhood tv routine lol
19 but it was on GSN before school
Shia LaBeaof is hilarious in this!
+Daniella Dahoui ur smile tho
exactly!
+Daniella Dahoui And also totally looks like Freddie Mercury. XD
cult classic!
+Daniella Dahoui Magic!!
4:19 But wait! He's not dead! (Shia Surprise)
Aoife Twamley o
You win one (1) internets plus 3 years' interest. Good on you, sir.
There’s blood on his hands, and death in his eyes!
@@krainkelli You have just decapitated Shia Lebouf.
TALLY HALL REFERENCE IN THE SNL COMMENT SECTION
Back when Shia was just "that kid in the transformers movie"
Yeah. Miss them old times.
Yeah, he's a cannibal now.
Oh yeah feels like such a long time ago but are just 10 Years. Heck even Megan Fox was really hot and cute then... and Rihanna started her career.. How ppl and life can change in just 10 Years wow
@@klavicus2276 Megan Fox was never cute. You should feel bad about thinking that.
You've never seen Even Steven's then
I absolutely loved the guy in pink shirt and mustache. Too bad I don't recognize him as he is not famous.
He is. I think it's Shia Labouff. Idk for sure but im pretty sure it is.
I see what u did there 😏
/r WHOOOOOSH
has to explain joke...
Paul Lynde
Fred's manic blend of Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly is so frenetic and wild. Amy's Brett Somers is a scream; she's clearly having a blast with it. I grew up occasionally tuning in to Match Game on TV and enjoyed its naughty humor; they got away with some stuff at the time. Shia here as Doug Henning is quite good. Henning was a magician who had a Broadway show in 1974 (titled "The Magic Show" ... how creative, LOL). Martin Short did/does a fun impression of Doug.
And, yeah, it's very strange having Bill play the character who is not a big personality-- considering he is a wiz at celebrity mimicry.
Kenan Thompson is playing Nipsey Russell. I believe Kristen Wigg is supposed to be Fannie Flagg.
@@PlanoFool Wiig is either Marcia Wallace or Fannie Flagg. The third girl is spoofing Debralee Scott.
Lies again? Horse Face Gamble Bet
Yeah but Bill Hader is the master of playing gameshow hosts.
We want Shia to appear as that magician again!!!!!
+FatterBassilisk5 Paul Henning
he can't. He fucking whack now.
He has Freddy Mercury s teeth
Yeah!!
@@jamesambrocio Dude is just a free spirit.
This is my favorite game-show SNL skit. I love the concept, the execution, and every actor has so much character.
Whenever I was home sick from school as a little kid, I'd be propped up and under a cozy blanket on the couch, with a grilled cheese sandwich, tomato soup and ginger ale on the coffee table, watching Match Game and The Hollywood Squares. Ah, the 70s. RIP, Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly, you hilarious old queens.
Armisen was doing Lynde, I think.
The same, I'd have to stay in bed, but I had a little tv in my room and always made sure to watch Pyramid (I think it was only $10K then), Hollywood Squares, Let's Make a Deal, Newlywed Game and Match Game.
Memories…light the corners of my mind…
Why does that sound like a great afternoon
I saw Doug Henning in his wonderful "The Magic Show" on Broadway and he was exactly like Shia portrayed. Our family ran into him in the parking garage after the show, and he still had as huge a smile and magical personality as he did on stage. He passed away in 2000 and is missed.
I loved him as a kid. RIP to a special being.
@@KurtI2525 Yes
How in all this time have I never seen nor even heard of this sketch? Speaking as a child of the 70s, I'm entranced.
I LOVE FRED ARMISEN IN THIS HAHA
He's terrible in this one
he is hilarious in this one
Reminds me of Paul Lynde.
@@higilochannel I’m curious, what does it feel like to be a fucking idiot?
Fred was so perfect in this!
armisen's laugh kills me everytime :D
I am genuinely curious about who killed the host.
he probably killed himself cuz he had to deal with these fucking weirdos every day.
@@dustincory4999 that's actually funny 😆
@@dirkdiggler2430 HOW FUNNY IS IT?!
@@scooterdooter extremely
Self report
They really nailed the flavor and feel of a late 70's, possilby very early 80's, gameshow/quiz-show!
Shia has always been underrated, he was amazing on Even Steven's, and he's even greater now.
Yes, Fred Armisen I think was supposed to be Charles Nelson Reily, but sounds exactly like Paul Lynde here!
Shia's character should randomly show up in sketches every month.
Amy Poehler is so funny in this one, I love her so much omg
Love this I was a 70's child. Grew up on these game shows
This is so funny on so many levels. I love the sparkly unicorn on Doug Henning's shirt. Match Game was also known for their "liquid lunches."
"I have a secret life!"
"Oh, it's no secret!"
I know Shia has gotten all weird and shit, but he's hilarious in this one :D
Can you tell me what happened to him? Everyone is talking about how he changed and shit but I don't see it. When I see his face I just remember transformers and how cute he was..
he just did a lot of crazy shit. He stole an idea for a shortfilm and then he tweetet everyday "I'M NOT FAMOUS ANYMORE". then he was at the Berlinale Filmfestival with a bag over his head and also got arrested, I think... And a lot of other weird stuff happened. Don't know if he had drug problems or something.
oh wow, that's weird. Thank's.
***** actually he´s just done the usual over the top bullshit moves that everobody is capable of and alot of people do every day over the world, the difference is he is/was/whatever famous so people like you can judge him on the internet
Max Powa True story.
4:30 All I heard was Sam Whitwicky and Mutt Williams (Henry Jones The Third)
That's the best Paul Lynde impression I've ever seen--love you, Fred!!!
Fred is doing a combo Paul Lynde and Charles Nelson Reilly
*YES!*
You get it!
A solid skit from start to finish. I wish they were all like that.
This has to be one of the best SNL sketches of all time :-D
Peter Beck For me it is one of the worst
I LOVE the alien abduction one
All kidding a side, a man has been murdered here.
@@iman6834 before you time i guess.
This actually produced "negative" laughter from me. A term that Red Letter Media coined is "non-medy" instead of comedy.
One of the greatest sketch premises of all time.
i wish every skit was of this quality. compared to the usual skit on this show this one is superior.
This is Shia LeBeouf's best role in his whole acting career EVER.
I've watched a lot of Match Game and this is stupidly accurate XD
So this is where the famous Magic Gif came from
Fred's Paul Lynde impression is spot on!
Paul Lynde impression is so good
would like to see some comedy movies with shia he is rly good
have you seen Transformers? that movie was a joke.
James Ambrocio
has nothing to do with my comment...
the shitty script of the movie has nothing to do with the actor did u see other movies with him ? serioues movies ? i guess not otherwise you wouldnt talk shit like that -.-
May I point out that I was not talking about Shia in particular. I was talking about the entirety pf the movie. I'm not saying it's a career killer for him. But starring in that movie hurt him pretty bad.
James Ambrocio
not rly it hurt michael bay to produce shit like that
Even Stevens boi
2:46 if you come here for the GIF, this is for you
Amy and Fred are perfect in this
Shia has always been hilarious. I think he just wants to try different acting styles so everyone doesn’t type cast him.
Now that was hilarious. I love everything Fred Armison does. I used to love Paul Lynde so much. He was hilarious on Hollywood Squares.
Fred makes magic everytime
It's 2020 and only now did I see the source for the magic Shia LaBeouf meme comes from
Love how Kenan is also in classic SNL
This skit lives in my mind rent free
This is the first time in a while Shia brought me back to his Even Steven days….he’s really good with timing.
I've always wondered where this meme was from. Hilarious😂 2:45
Magic... 😂 😂
"Mouth whoopie" lmao!!
That was a pretty fantastic Paul Lynde impression despite Fred not playing Paul Lynde.
Thank you Drew for putting me on to this sketch!
Same searched this up right after I watched drews video
Oh it's no secret! This is 70's gold.
bill's little dance at 4:40 is the cutest thing
Some of the greatest SNL actors randomly together in a very silly and hilarious skit.
The sole tolerable appearence of Shia LaBoeuf on... earth.
This is just perfect.
So much gold! This was a golden era of SNL IMO
By far one of the best newer era snl skits
Shia is doing a spot on impression Doug Henning. Look him up and you'll see.
if any one was ever to make a movie about Frank Zappa, he would have to be played by shia la beouf dressed like this!
agreed
Well slap my ass and call me Jenny, you are absolutely right. Hadn't realised it before reading this. And what a movie it would be too, all we would need apart from that, is someone to portray an idiot with a flare gun to burn burn the place to the ground
LaBeouf is hilarious and Fred's shoulders XD
One of the most famous GIFs in internet's history
2:38 For some reason the way he says “coat pocket” has really stayed with me all these years
Freds Paul Lynde impersonation is off the charts
Seemed like a great Charles Nelson Reilly impression to me.
It's Charles Nelson Lynde yo
As individual character performances go, this is pure gold.
🤣😂🤣😂
Worthy or rewatching again & again!
I wish this one was 3x longer. Shia playing that magician I could watch all day man.
Shia has always been one of the best actors out there.
Everytime Shia mouths “magic” it gets funnier and funnier
Top 10 greatest SNL moment of the past decade
i'm 52, and this is just spot on funny as fucking hell to me. i remember all those shows from the early to mid 70's. just didn't understand how funny they really were as a little kid...
and goddamned DOUG HENNING !!!
This sketch really caught the essence of Match Game. Amy did so well as Brett Sommers and the guy that played Paul Lynde cracked me up. Shia was spot on as the magician; I didn 't see this episode, and I didn't even realize it was him. Hader is great in every character he plays. I would have loved to have seen his take on the host, Gene Rayburn.
Shia was a good Doug Henning
i love amy's laughing 😂
....I literally cannot stop watching
The magic guy is the best! lol xD
Shia bringing some high art to everything he does
I can’t stop watching this it is hilarious 😂
Brilliant sketch
This is a gem!!
I WATCH THIS LIKE EVERY DAY FOR THAT GUYS LAUGH HAHHAHAHAHAHA
Shia was the best.
This is one of my favorite episodes for this cast!!
Lolz, Shia's Doug Henning is spot on 🤣
If you don't know the game show "Match Game" from the 70s, you couldn't even begin to appreciate this!
Wiig's intro is pure genius.
Fred Armisen is doing an excellent Uncle Arthur impression.
2:46 legend
"i have a secret life" 😂
It's no secret!
When Shia came into mainstream recognition back in Constantine and iRobot I believed that the guy had the chops to be as good an actor as some of the best in the business, he had some missteps along the way but I think now he's on his way to proving me right.
I forgive him for Indiana Jones. I leave the mistake to Steven Spielberg, actually.
And He's Still AssHotSpankable!..😉😂😎
fred's character is so funny in this
This was such an epic season. So much gold
