Red velvet cookies are actually made with cocoa powder both in cakes and cookies, but with a lot if red dye. Kind of surprised none of the Fuzzins knew that but I suppose everyone learns different.
No wonder red velvet sometimes tastes blehhhhh, on the other hand you do get a concentrated red colouring in powder form and im sure when that is used it does not impact the taste.
