Literally ending spoilers below, I can almost garuantee everyone here will have beaten the canto so this is a little unnecesary I imagine BUT I still wanna put the warning anyway soooo. It's a really small thing and something I'd expect of PM because they're amazing, but I love how the sinners instantly recognise how Heathcliff feels at the end, despite not being able to recall who he's talking about explicitly. I feel like it's a common trope for characters to ask who they're talking about or something like that but Ish replying "That would be the person in the coffin I'm guessing" felt so much better, it feels like the characters are starting to respect each other even if just a little more and this is sorta something that really makes me feel like that, it just shows so much more empathy to Heath and I like it!
Also probably helps that this isn't the first time the sinners have encountered something like this. If concept incerators are a standard technology, then it's a lot easier to believe that a person could be scrubbed from existence.
One unrelated thing, Heathcliff doesn't have □□□□□'s diary anymore or at least it doesn't work. So even if Heathcliff were to flip through the pages, they'd probably be all blank as □□□□□'s presence was erased, save for the memories Dante and Heathcliff have of □□□□□

The fact Meursault suggested they don't move around the mansion in order to protect Heathcliff... You could say he was being pragmatic but then he mentions that even if they lose the Golden Bough if they go with his plan and he is still willing to do it, just goes to show how he even cares.
I like how after Canto 4 the sinners, namely Ishmael (and later Mersault) doesn't just sit in their seats and starts interacting with the others And in this canto Mersault and Ishmael both sat/stood close to Heathcliff by choice,as if they're like tryning to be there to comfort him? It's really freakin cute to me.
doesn't seem like it, he is standing too far away. Looks more like only Ishmael decided to sit close to and Outis looks back at him. Meursault is probably trying to recollect his thoughts after forgetting ■■■■■, thus why he has that 🤨 look
I like to think that Mersault used to see everything as pointless, much like the main character of the novel he’s based on. Since he saw things as pointless he didn’t see any reason to show emotion, or to put any extra or less effort than what is needed. But seeing Ishmael and Heathcliff’s struggles, and the struggles of everyone else, that he’s slowly opening up and being more genuine, seeing them closer than just coworkers.
Besides Heathcliff, look at Vergil's expression. If you have seen the webtoon and novel Leviathan, you will guess who is in the photo. I won't tell you who is in the photo because some people may not know, but his complex and subtle expression as if he is missing someone represents his feelings
