Is it ok to plant by paver walkway? Would roots spread under and cause damage to pavers?

The upright and cascading foliage should look very nice contrasting with the flatness, texture and pattern of your walkway. The roots of these grasses are fibrous and not thick and swelling like tree roots, so with good, solid construction techniques the chances of them causing damage to your walkway is unlikely.
And, the nice thing about grasses and perennials is that most of them can easily be transplanted, so if by chance at any point you were to be concerned they can be moved.

And, during the main planting season (spring through late Fall) try to visit our partnering garden centers: grownbyoverdevest.com/retail-locator/ they are located all over our Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern region, and will have all sorts of beautiful, tried and true and cutting edge, top performing selections, so be sure to stop in regularly to see them for yourself.
