- A look at the fold over fixture for the Heights Tower System, 84 ft crank up tower and the NN4ZZ Tilt Plate. Total height of tower and stand is 89 ft with antenna at 93 ft. Tower rated 24 sqft @ 70mph.
Outstanding set-up! In fact, I watched this video a few times as I salivated of a similar purchase. This 'may be' worth going into debt to have.
Thanks for sharing. Impressive. I have only had a few towers in my life, one was a 52ft steel crank up; can't even recall the manufacture. Aluminum seems too light for this purpose but I know they've been in business for years. Actually emailed Heights Towers just now. Can't see prices on their site. 73

thats just a cool setup right there. I'm sure its not cheap but man would it be nice to lower the tower and work on things instead of climbing.

Nice videos. I am interested in doing something like the CU84 tower you put up (fold over and crank up with motors). How do you secure your coax to the tower. Since it's crank up it doesn't look like the coax can be put inside the tower. if's it is outside the tower how do you handle the coax moving up and down with the crank up. You do secure the coax to the tower, correct? Thanks. Very good videos. Thank you for taking the time to share.
The tower comes with a coax guide on the top of each section. It consists of a standoff, which clamps to the tower section and a loop on the end where you can slip your coax. When I raise and lower the tower, the coax slips through the loops and I coil it on the ground at the base. At least that's my method.

What happens if the bolt brakes but its a nice tower 84ft is nice.
It's a wonder that threaded nut at .37 does not strip out considering all the weight it has to support at that angle.
Heights has been making these tilt over fixtures for over 40 years and I do not recall hearing of a problem.
One thing here, As you may have more then one antenna. or three. So how many cables do you have. I know the Flex radio with help control them. But is the one box that does that. Trying to get into Ham, 73
Hi James,
There is one cable for the DB-18E between the top of the tower and the radio in the shack. A coax switch box on the boom of the antenna takes care of cable switching for all the bands that are covered by the antenna. One cable comes down the tower from the box to the radio in the radio room. The FlexRadio tells the controller the operating frequency and the controller operates the coax switch which makes the appropriate connections. Works great!

Very careful with that tower and mantenence, I got issues with my tower and factory don’t care about my self and when I spoke with some body also, to discuss about tower , they torn the phone on my face ...,this not fun , I can sent picture if every one want .....thank you
can poor folks afford such a set up? :) probably not.
If you have the desire and plan ahead, yes you put in a very nice system. On a whim, probably not.
