    Job Hopping
Definition: Frequently changing jobs, often within a year or two, to seek better opportunities, higher salaries, or more exciting projects.
    Pros:
Higher Salary Increases: Each new job can come with a significant pay raise.
Diverse Experience: Exposure to different technologies, teams, and company cultures.
Networking: Expanding professional network by working in various environments.
Skill Enhancement: Learning and adapting to new systems and methodologies quickly.
    Cons:
Perceived Instability: Employers might see frequent job changes as a lack of commitment or reliability.
Lack of Deep Expertise: Shallow experience in any one area due to short stints.
Potential Burnout: Constantly adapting to new roles and environments can be exhausting.
Risk of Unemployment: Frequent job changes might lead to periods of unemployment between jobs.
    Job Upgrading
Definition: Gradually moving up the ladder within the same company through promotions and internal transfers.
    Pros:
Stability: Demonstrates loyalty and reliability, which can be valued by employers.
Deep Expertise: Opportunity to develop in-depth knowledge in specific areas.
Stronger Relationships: Building long-term relationships with colleagues and mentors.
Career Development: Potential for steady career growth with a clear path for advancement.
    Cons:
Slower Salary Growth: Pay increases might be smaller and less frequent compared to job hopping.
Limited Exposure: Less variety in experiences and fewer opportunities to work with different technologies and teams.
Potential for Stagnation: Risk of becoming too comfortable and not challenging oneself.
Dependence on Company Growth: Career progression might be limited by the company's performance and structure.
Choosing Between Job Hopping and Job Upgrading
The choice between job hopping and job upgrading depends on personal career goals, industry trends, and individual circumstances.

Changing jobs with a single year should be avoided and should be only done as exception. Large companies look at frequent job hopping as suspicious as it may also raise questions on the stability of the candidate to keep a job.
