  • In this mesmerizing woodturning video, witness the transformation of a raw piece of Black Walnut into a breathtaking masterpiece. Using time-honored traditional woodturning techniques, I carefully shape and carve the wood to unveil the natural beauty hidden within.
Throughout the process, I encounter challenges such as cracks in the walnut, but fear not! I demonstrate how to skillfully repair these imperfections using black CA glue, ensuring a flawless final result.
Watch as the lathe spins and the shavings fly, revealing the elegant form of the vase taking shape before your eyes. With precise cuts and meticulous attention to detail, I craft every curve and contour, bringing out the rich grain patterns and textures of the walnut.
Finally, witness the magic as the vase undergoes a transformation with a glossy lacquer finish, enhancing its beauty and depth. The end result is a stunning, one-of-a-kind piece that will add a touch of elegance to any space.

Amazing finished product! Wondering if you had to stop and sharpen your gouge? If so how many times? Your work is impeccable sir!

Actually, I only sharpened each tool once. The bowl gouge was getting a little dull at the end there, but not too much
