I was originally totally uninterested in Metropolis, despite Angie and various other UA-camrs raving about it. Then recently, I saw Alicia (kinkysweat) compare it to the Bronze palette and suddenly it seemed a lot more appealing. This video, in the best possible way, has killed any interest I had in it: swampy greens, dirty coppers and grungy mustards look appalling on me, since they really bring out my strong greenish-yellow undertones and make me look like an unwell alien, and seeing it all swatched out on a skin tone closer to my own really shows how heavy it is on those sorts of shades. This is also the reason I can resist the Gold palette and its dupe. I giggled when you described this as a rainbow palette, but actually, bar the absence of violet, I think you're right about it being a grungy rainbow. This was cool to see, thank you. Curious to discover your thoughts about it once you've had a bit more of a play.
I’m in the same boat. Those swampy greens and grungy mustards look horrendous on me. I’m a medium deep tan complexion with olive/cool undertones and they bring out the green and yellow in my skin as well. I’m so glad I didn’t purchase this palette now.
As a Metropolis owner, the dark colours in the ND palette do swatch a bit lighter than they appear in pan, almost having a watercolour quality, but they are still far deeper than the Artemis versions appear to be from the swatches. If you want a demonstration of how they look on the eye, Angelica Nyqvist did a first impression using the deep green and one of the deep blues.

So when I look at the layout and color story that’s what I see. The dark cream to powder shades in the Metropolis are MUCH darker and deeper than in the Artemis palette. And while they look similar in the pan, look very different on the eye.
So interesting that stained glass was part of the inspo - I didn't know that! I totally see art deco in the colour scheme, but I'd have expected much more vibrant and luminescent jewel tones in a stained glass-inspired palette. Cool to know though, thanks!
I came here basically cuz I'm an HLP fangirl. This palette doesn't call to me. I am completely uninspired. I love the green packaging though. It is stunning. I am glad that this brand exists. I bought the Gold dupe and found that I really only care about 2 shades (the deep brown shimmer and the blue shimmer). I'm not that in to gold. A much better thing to learn for about $20 than $130. I do wonder if I'd be more inspired by Nastasha's gold than Alter Ego's but I'm not gonna buy Natasha's version to find out. I would really love to see you play with the Nabla Cutie palette. I'm so curious about the collection of them.
RKay_17 the cutie pallets are great and have these 2 shades that are just so unique and really set off the looks. If one inspires you go ahead and pick it up. The Mats are nice and the shimmers are buttery
@@kagitsune Duping the vibes is one of my favorite things she does. It was interesting to me to see her break down the color story in about 1/4 of the shades.
Hannah I always get a kick out of the way you enthusiastically swatch shades. You swatch a brand new palette and it ends up looking busted or should I say “well loved”.. I swatch and use mine 10x and they still look pristine. Lol the only exception is the Roen, you really have to just go all in on those pans :)
Interestingly, I don't feel like I have to dig in the Roen quads but it doesn't matter, they're a mess. I love them, but I don't even bother to clean those up. I've got a touch of OCD and I usually always clean up the insides of my palettes.
RKay_17 really! I have found unless I swirl my fingertip in the pan , warming up the cream, that all that comes off is a glitter. Very little pigment unless I slightly work it with my fingertip first. They’re also easier to buff out on the lid once they’ve been worked (I have the cool quad)
@@Puglover130 I have resisted swirling because it feels so excessive and wasteful of product. I just tried it though and there is much less glitter fallout when swirling. That is nice. Having glitter every where was kind of annoying.
I have Metropolis and I really wish there were less orangey colors and more greeny colors. I also wish it had more standard mattes and less cream to powders. And I really agree about the lack of deep mattes. I always feel like despite it being a 28 pan, I have to pull in another palette to supplement the mattes.
I got this palette too and I was also surprised at how bright the really deep, rich - appearing shades swatched. I think that among all of the Alter ego palettes, this one has the best value for sure.
The deep colours in the metropolis palette do a similar thing to this, they look like a super deep blue or green but swatch much lighter, they don’t perform similarly to python at all. However they still retain a richness and a grungy was which I think looks superior to these alter ego swatches. Similarly the pale green is much less primary in the metropolis. There’s definitely more texture in the metropolis palette - these shimmers look like foils or metallics rather than having the variation of Natasha denona shimmers. Also the pale, cream shimmer in the metropolis is really unique and special. It’s got the coolness of a champagne cream but a slight peachy warmness so it works with gold, orange and green/blue looks and is the perfect highlight for the palette.
I think it’s an excellent dupe! The blues in the ND swatch way lighter that they look in the pan. Alter Ego’s dupe is a perfect representation of the original.
Thank god someone did this! I've been itching to simplify the metropolis palette ever since I saw it. It's sooo repetitive but has some beautiful shades in it.
I have the Metropolis palette. In love with the colors and formula. They are extremely unique formulas within the palette. There was a learning curve with some of the cream to mat formulas but once past that its amazing. The pans are much smaller than her traditional size eyeshadows so very comparable to the Artimis sized pans. Of course I wouldn't buy it because I have a $129 investment with richer quality shadows but I did want to know the difference. You never know who may want to purchase and I now have an idea in the differences. Thanks for the video. Well done. As always enjoy all of your content.
I love how you dig in to the shades and your swatches, because to me it is really helpful to see if I have dupes in my collection or just to see the beautiful party of colours.
I bought the ND Metropolis palette on sale because I figured even dupe products wouldn’t have that amazing cream to powder formula, so I was blown away (and a little disappointed!) that this palette does! It’s great for people who haven’t already spent the money though 😂
@@lovecate1 pretty similar, actually! I think they might build up to a bit deeper of a color than the dupe palette, but they still don't get as dark as they look in the pan.
Those dark mattes weirdly remind me of the two darker shadows in the Natasha Denona Bronze Palette. In every review I've seen, they look really dark in the pan (dark gray and almost black), but are shockingly much lighter in the swatch. I wonder if the ones in the original Metropolis palette were like that too? 🤔🤔 I never watched any of those reviews because I felt like that palette was too rich for my blood (and there were just SO many eyeshadows in it, which felt overwhelming). The brightness of these particular mattes is making them weirdly more intriguing to me than when I just saw them in the pan lol, but I'll wait to see them in action on you at some point before considering pulling the trigger. Hope you're doing well! 🥺💕 P.S. - the Bow-bi Wan Kenobi joke took me OUT
They are the same type of formula as the Natasha denona palette. It swatches similarly. They do build a bit, but they aren’t nearly as deep as they look in pan.
I also feel like the color story and number of pans make it overwhelming! I think that's part of why I wanted to make an edit. I hear people talking about feeling confused about what do to with a given palette, but I rarely feel that way myself...in this case, I kind of do feel that way.
Hannah Louise Poston if you look at the original pallet the way she lays them out is each look is a grid system where the two shades next to eachother go together up and down and side to side also cross wise hope that helps you see more looks
Some tips from my experience: Ive found that my alter ego shadows work best with a pot concealer primer and setting that with a skin color matte eyeshadow. Daydream mattes cant get fully opaque especially the cranberry shadow. It is best as a wash of mauve mattes and badass shimmers(best ive used).
They got a lot right in this dupe but the cream-to-powder shades do not swatch like their counterparts in the Metropolis palette. The ones in Metropolis swatch true to color (in my experience).
I'm getting this. I love the alter ego palettes. I have the Goddess and Sahara palette. I also have the Natasha Denona Bronze palette. I'm not bothered by the similar shades because I know I'll use them. Since they are magnetic and pop out I think of this as a bunch of singles to add to my collection. One thing that I wish that dupe companies would do is dupe it better. Listen to the complaints about the original and make those changes.
Creamy Goodness yeah, I definitely agree. I thought the metropolis palette was ugly when when it came out, and I think this one is ugly too 🤷♀️ Hannah’s edited version is more compelling to me. It’s still ugly, but at least it makes sense and has context.
I bought metropolis and ended up swapping out some shadows from the Sunrise palette to create a custom ND palette and gave away the other shadows. I reach for my custom palette all the time
These colors are great, but I would definitely make a smaller version in a magnetic palette as well, and when I do it would probably look like the Through My Eyes palette that I already own
Natasha Denona is so expensive in Australia - $205 for the Metropolis. This is as close as I'm going to get. I wish those dark mats were darker, but it's all moot because Alter Ego don't ship internationally :( I love watching you play with colour and discuss shadows though, so this still made me happy.
The “dark” colors in this palette swatch the same as the metropolis palette. It’s a VERY mid tone palette. That is my biggest gripe about it, plus the redundancy of the colors. There was plenty of room to remove some of the duplicates and add in some nice and dark shades and some lighter shades (the lightest shade in the metropolis palette is such a dud!) to make it a much more versatile palette.
I don’t know I have the ND metropolis palette and those dark creamy mattes are DARK, they blend effortlessly and have zero fallout. I can’t speak to the alter ego cream to powder “dupe” but the ND formula is flawless.
I especially loved seeing your edited version in the end, you basically selected the shadows that caught my attention the most! I hope you have a nice weekend Hannah 😘
I’ve now watched several people swatch and reveal this palette; yours is the most helpful. You’re right-the dark colors aren’t really dark and there’s nothing to ground the palette. What a shame because the colors in the pans are beautiful. I’m not sure I’d like (or use well) that cream to powder formula. I kind of wanted this but I think I’ll pass. Thank you! Good job!
I don’t own the Metropolis and don’t intend to get it (or the Artemis), but this video still managed to hold my attention. Thanks for such a chill and informative video!
Thanks for the yummy swatches I was very curious about this palette since I can’t afford the Natasha one. I was curious how they would look on fair skin and appreciate swatch videos so much! Also always love how you analyze the texture and colors in palettes! 🌸🌺🌸🌺
When the Metropolis palette first launched, I REALLY wanted it. It seemed like such a great way to get tons of colors from Natasha Denona at a better price point; however, I never purchased it. I don’t like the way either version is laid out though. I much prefer organizing the shadows in a way that makes sense to me (either light to dark or more of the typical rainbow). Mandysberi is one of my favorite instagram pages because she focuses a lot on reorganizing the color order of popular palettes. She featured the Metropolis palette when it first launched and it became so clear that there are many repetitive shades. This knowledge combined with the price made it clear I did not need to purchase it. I still admire the palette though, but the Alter Ego version doesn’t seem stellar enough for me to purchase either. I LIVE for those dark blue/green shades and since they are nothing in comparison, I have no reason to purchase. Thank you so much for sharing this with us Hannah! I always enjoy your content 💟
WHOA that is a DUPE. If I remember correctly from your last Alter Ego video, the pans are removeable? Although I think if I wanted this palette, I would want Metrpolis, because it has so many cream to powder shades. And yeah, the swatches are weird for the cream to powder. I have to go swatch Tor from biba. But the black in Biba swtaches as a super deep black.
Whew! I was just about to buy this Alter Ego palette but was sitting on the fence. I enjoyed the Goddess palette and the Aurora palette, so this seemed like a good addition. After viewing this review, itsa no for me. I feel like it’s time to be choosy, because I really, really enjoy a well curated palette. With that many shades, it really ought to be a complete color story. The mattes may not show up on me. And, I am not sure how I feel about the formula. I have watched several reviews here on UA-cam trying to decide. This one was the best one. Thank you for posting this as it helped me to make up my mind.
I think this color story is super repetitive. I had no interest in the Metropolis palatte, but the cheaper price has caused me to be more interested in this palette. Still not interested enough to buy it.
Such a thorough review! Love it!!! 🥰 Also, I’m kind of disappointed too on those greens, I really wish their swatches looked more like the pans 💔 That’s about the only thing stopping me from purchasing this one. But then again, there are so many other wonderful shadows in the palette, sooooo... 🤔
I have the metropolis palette and I can tell you that the cream to match formula has the deep rich colors just as the gold palette does so I just don’t think this is true to color when you’re comparing those cream to nightshades to the Natosha Denona metropolis palette
I find the og metropolis palette has a lot of depth with the dark green and blues and more nuance in the mattes in general compared to this dupe. However, the original does not have enough depth when it comes to neutrals which is a bit disappointing, and I wish alter ego had addressed that. However (lol), I love this color story as a neutral with a twist every day warm palette with some lovely textures in it and pops of greens and blue. It’s a color story that I liiiiive for while none of nd’s other palettes really sang for me. I’m happy that people will get to at least experience some lovely shimmers from this dupe palette!
I received the Metropolis palette as a birthday gift, and I think in terms of pigmentation of the blue shades, it falls in between the Alter Ego and the ND Gold palette. The blues do look similar in the Metropolis palette, and they do swatch brighter than they appear in the pan, but packed on the eye with a brush, they look much more true to pan. Same for the forest green. So in this case, and I’m guessing in the Alter Ego case, these are just shades that don’t swatch well. That said, while I love the Metropolis palette, I cannot figure out why she didn’t get rid of a few of the similar orange or coppery shades and add in a couple of deeper shades-when I wearing very warm tones in particular, I need something deep to keep the bright colors from washing me out. I also wish the palette had 1-2 light topper shades, light the white gold topper in the ND Gold palette, to add more texture to the looks-I pull in that shade all the time when I use this palette to add dimension. The color story is so interesting and the textures are beautiful, but it basically has 28 mid-toned shades and it makes it harder to build a complete look than one might expect.
I personally love this palette, it has everything I look for in an eyeshadow palette: variety in mid-tone mattes and metallics, the type of shades I'm drawn to and the eyeshadows pop out (if that's the way it's spelled, sorry if my english is terrible, it's not my first language jajajaja). So it would made it into my wish list, but in Spain we can't order from Alter Ego, I hope we can soon. Amazing video, as always, I love your content and personality. 💕💕💕💕💕
I really want the Metropolis pallet but I just can't bring myself to pay $130 for it, especially right now. This seems like a good option. I am wondering how the deep blues and greens will apply with a white base and using a brush.
I love how detailed and descriptive you are in your critique. All the things you’ve described are what I couldn’t articulate, but whet internally was keeping me from buying Metropolis. I don’t mind buying this to give me a feeling of the color story.
I'm a bit late, but I decided to break out my Metropolis palette to compare while I was watching and I noticed a few things. First, the 3 dark creamy powders in the Metropolis palette do have a degree of translucency to them that Python from the Gold palette doesn't, that being said they don't swatch nearly as primary and bright as their Alter Ego counterparts, for me they are deep enough to grunge up a look. Second, I think the main difference between the two palettes is that Alter Ego leaned into the grungy sage side of the spectrum and Metropolis stays a bit warmer, for example it's clear that Silent is supposed to dupe Lethal in Metropolis but as far as I can tell from your video Lethal is more akin to Prowl and Silent mixed. From your video I had a hard time figuring out Thrill and Prowl's counterparts in Metropolis. Overall I think the Alter Ego version is a bit more green, and leans more primary than Metropolis. I built a edited version based off yours with my Metropolis palette, I just added 3 extra shades so I could put it in my Sunrise palette. I'm excited to play with it this week. I hope you're doing well!
I think if Alter Ego shipped to Canada, I'd be super tempted by this one! As it is I took a screenshot of your edited palette to dupe with what I have :)
i think this is a decent attempt, but the colour story reads much more diverse in the Metropolis. the dark colours do initially swatch lighter but they build beautifully to the depth you see. thanks for the vid!
Thank You for your observations! For me, a shadow palette can be multi sensory. I love your edited version as I feel that the palette, in its original form, is too much.
I bought the ND metropolis palette but ending up selling it on depop because I finally admitted im not a grungy edgy dark eyeshadow person. I love pretty soft shell pinky pastel shimmer ala Lauren May Beauty
I don’t mind that these aren’t as deep as they look in the pan, I was going to get the Natasha Denona one and the reviews were very mixed. Some people showed that the colors stained their eyes a lot and left them irritated, which always concerns me since I have a small bump on one of my eyelids that I’m careful about applying shadow over. Honestly I snagged this one because I really like how the colors were arranged, the price is much more reasonable than the original and I don’t have green, orange and yellow shades like these in my collection. I don’t doubt that Natasha’s eyeshadow formula is better performing and truer to the pan shade but I can’t justify spending over $60 for a palette rn
It would be really interesting to arrange the shadows in their color families just so we could like see that gradient and the similarities of the colors. Also it would just be pretty 🤤
Also this making me want to take my two alter ego palettes (day dream and Sahara) and just take my fave shadows from both of them and make my ideal color story !!!
These swatches and descriptions gave me the satisfaction I would have got from getting the palette in the mail and swatching it but don’t want to buy it - this one or the ND one!
Pumpkin patch with a hit of Teal. I actually like the colors but I agree, quite a bit of reduncy & lacking depth. But I've heard the same thing said about ND palettes too. She's more about texture & color than sculpting the eye with light/shade
My main interest in the Metropolis palette was the cream to powder formula. I guess I'm just going to have to wait for ND to release a smaller more affordable palette with that formula...I loved the edited final palette by the way. You always make such interesting combos.
Thank you for the swatches, very inspiring🖤 I ordered this palette because I dont have very many goldy, bronzy shades and I also love the grungy vibes it gives. I also really wanted Metropolis but not at the price.
Those swatches are beautiful! When I saw this pallet, I thought it is not for me, but I like it more now :D I do not like too many dark shadows. I love blue. I don't think I need more greens, but overall pallet looks good :D Now I have new question, which alter ego pallet I want to buy: goddess, this or that sunsetty... 😄
I am a fan of Natasha Denona and the hard work and thought that she puts into her palettes and where I appreciate dupes for those that can’t afford it, I also appreciate the luxury and the quality of Natasha Denona and her shadows always have so much unexpected depth in shifts and dimension in her shades that you don’t just always see from other brands. I think this holds true with this palette, you’re just not going to get that same depth and dimension and unexpected twist in color and what not in the dupe, it may be someone of a dupe, but not entirely
I understand that dupe palettes are appealing to a lot of people, but this color scheme is just so redundant, I wish they'd reduced it. I love the name of the palette and the shade names tho', it's much more appealing than the ND version.
I got this and am super disappointed in the dark blue and green shades. I used my MAC Paint Pot instead of ABH primer that I normally use and it had time to dry but the colors did not perform well. Im going to try the shades again with ABH primer. The disappointing shades were Ambush.. Stealth and Bow.
I love my metropolis palette but it has only 1 flaw. It had 3 Orangy “transition” shades; I wish they just kept one or none and just had more duochromes and Special shades
Aw, when that immense Prussian Blue turned light, it broke my heart. Maybe it would work over a black primer, but that and the nearby taupe that turned out more chartreuse ruined it for me for the moment. I mean, very pretty palette, but the payoff isn't what I expect.
Looking at the palette, the colour story is somewhat compelling. But then I see the swatches... No thank you! I'm of the same mind as you that there are a lot of redundant shades & no shades deep enough for sculpting or creating drama. It is kind of depressing that those deep shades aren't as beautiful as they are in the pan... But I appreciate this relaxing swatch video! 💜
Do you think it's worth buying the whole palette to get the edit? I'm thinking about it (in January if it's still around) but even knowing how comparatively inexpensive it is, it feels a little...wasteful? For me to buy it knowing I won't wear a good third of the shades at least.
ooh yes. I was curious about this. I have such mixed feelings about Metropolis (best movie poster, ever) because it's so big and I don't know that I would use most of the shades, although I know I would pan 1/3 to 1/2 of them. I am curiouser and curiouser.
This palette's colors are gorgeous but I kinda hate the putty thing brands are doing. Very hit or miss on the eye. If you do videos with some looks from this palette I'd love to see it.
Hey friends hope everyone is doing well. Love the video! Unfortunately I bought the goddess palette and the quality wasn’t it for me. It would let blend or stick to my eyes even with multiple priming methods. The price was good just not my favorite :( I’m glad they seem to work well for you though Hannah!!
sorry to hear it! The shadows have worked so well for me. It's always good to hear from people who have had different experiences, though! Thanks for sharing.
Has anyone tried the Alter ego Gold palette dupe? I love the look of the gold palette but i’m not interested in spending that much right now, I could potentially see myself buying it in the future but i’d like to test the color story first to see if I use it
I've been eyeing the metropolis palette since it came out but I'm not willing to spend that money (even though I purchased the gold palette at full price with no regrets). One question about Alter Ego... are the pan sizes the same? Can I mix and match pans?
I love watching you dig into pans like you're mining for treasure. I get to live vicariously through you while keeping my own palettes intact!
"Mining for treasure." YES! Sadie tunnels into the sofa. Hannah tunnels into her shadows.
Me too. Her swatching makes me want to buy it! I gave my Alter Ego Goddess to my daughter because she was exclaiming over how lovely it was. I miss the shimmers, especially the white with the green gold shift and how flakey and beautiful it was.
I’m actually loving these grungy greens and khakis and didn’t even want this palette - but now I do. Maybe I’ll repurchase Goddess and this one too. lol
Oh and that really light set of lashes? Those look perfect. I often just want a little fullness added to my lashes, not the giant dramatic styles.
Would love it if Alter Ego would make like one big palette combining like four of the mini natasha denona palettes.
I would buy that so fast.
That is genius

It's SO ORANGE
Prachi S The deep blues and greens swatch lighter than they look. The other mattes swatch true to color.
This was one of my complaints with Metropolis. I ended up returning it and if was the only ND palette I’ve ever returned
Jay Land I do still like it but it’s not really a standalone palette for me
I got this palette too and I was also surprised at how bright the really deep, rich - appearing shades swatched. I think that among all of the Alter ego palettes, this one has the best value for sure.
I adore my metropolis palette, so I won't be in the market for this one. I have their Gold palette dupe, though, and it's fabulous!
Cat Ecklund same here it’s just made me realize I just want to save my money for the high end stuff it makes it so easy to do your makeup
Claudia Castillo they do swatch lighter but there’s more depth to them and still darker then that
Thank god someone did this!
Well done. As always enjoy all of your content.
nancy2371 I’m watching to see more ideas to do more looks
@@rachelcrawford1977 that's usually what I do as well
I love how you dig in to the shades and your swatches, because to me it is really helpful to see if I have dupes in my collection or just to see the beautiful party of colours.
I bought the ND Metropolis palette on sale because I figured even dupe products wouldn’t have that amazing cream to powder formula, so I was blown away (and a little disappointed!) that this palette does! It’s great for people who haven’t already spent the money though 😂
Hi. I've wanted the Metropolis pallet for awhile. How do the deep blues and greens from Metropolis swatch compared to the swatches in this video?
@@lovecate1 pretty similar, actually! I think they might build up to a bit deeper of a color than the dupe palette, but they still don't get as dark as they look in the pan.
@@emmaleewilson5276 Thank you for the reply. Then I think it's a better option for me right now to check out this dupe pallet.
P.S. - the Bow-bi Wan Kenobi joke took me OUT
The ones in the original Metropolis palette swatch as dark at they look. When putting on her cream to powder formula, it’s buildable.
The one’s in ND Metropolis also swatch waaaay lighter and brighter than they look.
I bought this palette 2 mins into the video 😂 I also have the bronze palette and dont mind repetition
Are all the alter ego pan sizes the same? I want this but I also want to make sure I can switch around my palettes to customize them.
It looks like there are so many repeat shades. At least the size is small.
Creamy Goodness the true pallet they look similar in the pan but not on the eyes
The colors are so so beautiful. I love a peacock plumage color story like no other.
Yup, I definitely misread the thumbnail as “the real teal”
They named it Artemis because they’re mooning over ND’s formulas and color stories
Lol, I love a cheesy nerd joke.
To be honest the colour story of the Metropolis palette is nothing special
OMG the punnery! 😂 💞
Creamy Goodness yeah, I definitely agree. I thought the metropolis palette was ugly when when it came out, and I think this one is ugly too 🤷♀️ Hannah’s edited version is more compelling to me. It’s still ugly, but at least it makes sense and has context.
@@sc1592 fair
I bought metropolis and ended up swapping out some shadows from the Sunrise palette to create a custom ND palette and gave away the other shadows. I reach for my custom palette all the time
This was very helpful. Not getting it just for the fact that there's too many repeats and I'm actually lusting over the actual ND Metropolis palette
Lmao it's the same color story so it's gonna be repeat shades in the Natasha Denona as well
These colors are great, but I would definitely make a smaller version in a magnetic palette as well, and when I do it would probably look like the Through My Eyes palette that I already own
Wow, thank you for your hard work Hannah! This was an eye-opener.
Your edit to me definitely smacked of grungy rainbow palette, but in its full form feel like the rainbow gets lost
I just picked this up and my thought was to split it up and create an edit of it. A lot of shades are soo beautiful. I don't have the ND version.
Natasha Denona is so expensive in Australia - $205 for the Metropolis. This is as close as I'm going to get. I wish those dark mats were darker, but it's all moot because Alter Ego don't ship internationally :(
I love watching you play with colour and discuss shadows though, so this still made me happy.
The “dark” colors in this palette swatch the same as the metropolis palette. It’s a VERY mid tone palette. That is my biggest gripe about it, plus the redundancy of the colors. There was plenty of room to remove some of the duplicates and add in some nice and dark shades and some lighter shades (the lightest shade in the metropolis palette is such a dud!) to make it a much more versatile palette.
good to know!
I don’t know I have the ND metropolis palette and those dark creamy mattes are DARK, they blend effortlessly and have zero fallout. I can’t speak to the alter ego cream to powder “dupe” but the ND formula is flawless.
Zhanna Ino mine swatch pretty light compared to how they look in the pan, and much brighter. They do build up though.
I love this video. Very detailed. Very indepth. Serious. LOVE IT.
Really helps me make a descision
Wow, I think I just realized I don't want this color story anymore. Weird how swatches do that
Same! So cool.
yay, glad I could help :)
Thanks for such a chill and informative video!
thank you for watching! I love watching videos like this even when I have no intention of buying the product, so I totally understand :)
Thanks for the yummy swatches I was very curious about this palette since I can’t afford the Natasha one. I was curious how they would look on fair skin and appreciate swatch videos so much! Also always love how you analyze the texture and colors in palettes! 🌸🌺🌸🌺
Seeing so many videos on this palette today! It's so cool that they sent it to you! Excited to see what you think of it
When the Metropolis palette first launched, I REALLY wanted it.
I'm so glad to see another AE review. I bought the Goddess pallette because of Hannah and I actually love the mattes the most.
I also find it strange that there are no real deep shades in the color story, especially with so many pans!
I just found your channel... Where have you been all my life! This video was amazing.
thank you for watching and commenting!
I hope you're doing well!
thank you so much for this detailed info!!!
@@HannahLouisePoston My pleasure!
Yay I've been looking forward to this palette! The metropolis color story is beautiful but I'm also interested in alter egos other products!
Lol that obi wan joke 😂 i love it!
Thank you for the swatches, very inspiring🖤 I ordered this palette because I dont have very many goldy, bronzy shades and I also love the grungy vibes it gives. I also really wanted Metropolis but not at the price.
Haha! “I can see myself never using that shadow.” Best statement ever!!!!
Help me Bow-bi-Wan Kenobi 😂
Bought this and Goddess today! Used your code. Thank you! Hope you got credit!
I would love a video making a smaller edit of the palette
Happy others have access to this. I have the metropolis and it seems they have a real talent for ND dupes. Hoping they will move on to originals.
Can you please review the brushes? I've been considering purchasing them but haven't been able to find any thorough reviews.
I have the metropolis, it's probably my less used because all those unused shades just look back at me judging me.
I wish they would send internationally
Would you consider doing brush swatches (maybe with the alterego brushes)? I think most people don't use fingers to apply eyeshadows
Actually, also interested in more info about the brushes. In the market to replace some soon.
Metropolis has smaller pan sizes in natasha denona as well.
This palette's colors are gorgeous but I kinda hate the putty thing brands are doing. Very hit or miss on the eye. If you do videos with some looks from this palette I'd love to see it.
Pretty bummed they don't ship to Canada.
What a beautiful palette! It’s a shame they don’t ship to Poland.
I feel like that palette could be more like 12-14 shades.. Pretty color story though.
Yep.. Your edit = way better 💛💚💙
I love the look of the gold palette but i’m not interested in spending that much right now, I could potentially see myself buying it in the future but i’d like to test the color story first to see if I use it
I did a comparison of the Goddess and Gold palettes in an old video, here's the time-stamped link: ua-cam.com/video/Gv0JM6hna04/v-deo.htmlm42s
Are the pans the same size as the Daydream ones? I want to depot them and use them as singles too😸
yes, they are the same!
@@HannahLouisePoston YAY! Thank you😁
Do your fingers ever get sore from swatching? I once swatched 130+ single eyeshadows and my fingers hurt lol.
hasn't happened yet! maybe I'm not doing enough swatching :)
god EVERYTHING about ambush makes me drool....im tempted to buy it just for that one shadow but.....nah
I've been eyeing the metropolis palette since it came out but I'm not willing to spend that money (even though I purchased the gold palette at full price with no regrets). One question about Alter Ego... are the pan sizes the same? Can I mix and match pans?
I think they are the same across palettes!
