В этой песне, Высоцкий рассуждал о неизбежном и скором конце своей жизни. Он понимал, что его страсти взяли над ним полную власть и просил коней (время) немного замедлить шаг.

She is so dedicated that it takes a hefty toll on her own emotions. That's why, she normally follows a sad song with a happy, lively song. She needs to recharge her batteries and cleanse any negativity from her thoughts. True artistry must be carefully handled or it can be dangerous to the singer's mental wellbeing. Thanks for this reaction! The song was written - lyrics and music - by probably the most famous and very talented bard of the Soviet Union Vladimir Vysotsky. You can find his performance of this song in a couple of clicks (quite impressive also, actually). It was written for a movie where he was going to star (being an actor primarily) but the plans changed later on. The song is certainly very powerful emotionally and greatly moving. Diana's performance is also very talented and adds to the effect! Most people I guess have tears in their eyes listening to it.
As for the angels, the exact translation would be smth like this:
We've made it: can't be late to visit God.
So why are the angels singing there with such angry voices?
Or is it the bell all-chocking with weeping?
Or is it me screaming to the horses not to let the sled go so fast?!
The meaning is, I think, that the man is lost and bewildered, thinking: am I dying? am I dead already? If that's angels I am hearing - the sound is certainly not kind. What is that I am hearing? Oh, it's the bell crying in tears, or is it actually me shouting...
