Considering buying a 2009 drz sm and you videos are going to save me a lot of money on labor costs thanks.
Well, they were the same for the last 22 years. So all of my videos, should be applicable! Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
Way to go! An impact driver to install M6 screws and hydraulic hose fittings. Outstanding work! Truly outstanding. For all you other non-professionals out there, DO NOT DO THIS!
Why are people so weird about small battery impacts? 🤣 Have you actually ever used a small impact and then tested it against a torque wrench, or just parrot what everyone else says? M6 bolt gets torqued to 10-12ft-lbs depending on the grade. Most motorcycle bolts are grade 10.9 or 12.9. Unless you're being stupid and holding the trigger down for a ridiculously long time, you aren't going to break the bolt. Take the OEM grade 10.9 M6-1.0 x 16mm flywheel bolts on the DRZ. They get torqued to 10ft-lbs and don't break until about 19ft-lbs. Good luck hitting 19ft-lbs with a few hits on a small impact. Hell even the M5 bolts for the stator I installed with my impact and a quick tap of the trigger once seated and it still turned about an 1/8th of a rotation with my torque wrench before clicking at the 84in-lbs (7ft-lbs) spec.
Def getting these for my 22 SM. Within 20 minutes of riding on a cold start I can feel the mushyness set in. Had steelies on my Subie WRX and it was night and day as well. Great video!
Thanks man!! For sure, easily one of my favorite things I’ve done. And I think it was only like $160 for the pair. Thanks for watching!
Went to get DOT 4 and all they had was DOT 5.1. I thought that was synthetic, but it turns out it is compatible with DOT 4. The synthetic is DOT 5. I have one of those hand vacuum pumps and ended up getting one that uses an air compressor from Hobo Freight. I like it a lot better.
Yea, the compressor style is much better. I have one also. I typically try not to use stuff that’s 2 fancy in these videos. Just so people don’t get intimidated to do the repairs themselves.
Damn bro those look clean as hell! I want the blue and white haha. The punch box punch helped the info sink in too
What kind of exhaust system are you running I have a Yoshi on the back of mine 2005 DRZ Supermoto but it's gutted as loud that one looks nice I probably didn't cause half the price also what I'm doing on mine is putting a Trail Tech speedometer it has a tachometer temperature reading and I bought the bracket at Amazon looks really nice
In this vid it’s a Delkevic. But now I run a Barkers. Check the channel for the video.
And I have a Trailtech in my banshee Supermoto!
looking sharp. would of never expected black & purple to look so good.
Hell yea!!! Thank you. It’s definitely different then most others out there. Which is what I was shooting for. Thanks for watching I appreciate it!
I looked at the same brake line but I have a braided one on mine but like you said you need to get that brake line out of the way of the mono shop I used to zip tie but my brakes don't feel right I'm going to bleed them change the brake fluid also where'd you buy that pump can you get a harbor freight
Man, you don’t even need that pump. Just a hose, and a bottle. Put the hose in the bottle, pump it. Hold it. Crack the fitting. And repeat that until you get no air bubbles and just solid fluid in the line. You’ll be good to go!
Another great job. Do you mind me asking what kind of floor jack are you using and do you like it. I’ve been thinking about getting the Ride On lift. Keep up the great work
Of course I don’t! I might make a quick video on it. I’ve had a lot of questions about it. In summary. It’s made by Tusk. And it’s great. Here’s a link to buy one. Thanks for watching. I appreciate it. TUSK Adjustable Lift Stand www.amazon.com/dp/B0028M0526?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Im sorry maybe i missed it in the video. Did you choose stock length? Or did you add length?
You want to sell your rear brake line I'll take it with all the fittings
No sir. I keep all my parts. Never know when you may need them. Thanks for watching!
Hey what are your thoughts on the drop bar link that lowers the drz? Good idea bad idea?
If you are a shorter rider it’s a good idea. Seat height is about 36 inches.
Did you get the factory size lines or did you add any inches
@@linksgarage1985 absolutely you have one of the best drz pages out there👌. Should get into moto vlogs too, would be sick
What are your reasons for getting this brand?
@Link’s Garage cool. I haven't been able to decide so I'm glad I asked. I was looking into Galfer, but I liked how this one you got looked.
What size was your rear line?
I just ordered factory lengths. I didn’t have to measure. They already had the option on their website.
Your JD jet kit install was so good I had to watch this one too. I wasn't even considering getting new lines on my DRZ until now.
The good old gatorade brake bleeder bottle. Keep up the great DRZ mod videos.
Thanks! I appreciate that. They really feel so much better than the rubber lines! And they set it off in my opinion. I appreciate you watching!
