Great video. I ride daily, and wintertime in Portugal means poring rain for days at times. I´m used to it and have my gear, but, the one thing that makes me feel miserable is getting a wet bottom every time. Your review convinced me to give the Scott pants a fair try.
I opt for quick drying gear over waterproof gear. Living in the tropics I find anything waterproof just doesn't breath enough and I sweat so much you would think i was caught in the rain anyway. So i rock some gear that is breathable and quick drying. I find it far more comfortable for my specific situation. If I lived somewhere that got cold and wet at the same time I would likely be wrapped head to toe in waterproof kit. And yes, front break is the key to good riding... Don't be that idiot who rides the rear break down a mountain because you are too afraid of your front lol.
If I lived there I would do the same. The winter rain here is just so bitterly cold. Haha - front brakes are your friend. Especially when you have ABS! 🫠
@@SmallBikeStuff Firsty it helps if the riders know the difference between disk and drum... But maybe that is asking too much. Rain and winter are not two words I want to think of together, I can see that just being painful. Even here sometimes in the rainy season the rain can feel uncomfortable cold, and you know it's isn't cold here in any way whatsoever. So for it to be actually cold and rainy is just a bad mix of situations.
I use walking waterproof walking trousers only cost me 15 pounds at Go outdoors. Had them for year's, I'm interested I the jacket thou if it's a good price .
It’s not super cheap but really it’s not super expensive either. For the quality and it’s ability it’s well worth the price. You’d have to check local prices in your country.
Buy one size up for the top layer. Get a large top layer if you wear medium. But the bottom layer doesn’t usually need to be much bigger as pants are often less bulky than jackets.
You're a good confident rider in the rain man, well done. Great review, I'm going to buy them because of this.
Thanks so much! It’s really great gear. Still using it now.

Awesome they really do the trick! Good luck and thanks for watching.
I would buy a set of this gear, but I'm too chicken to ride in the rain, don't doubt Scott for a second! Thanks for the video!
Haha I was the same until I forced myself to commute on a bike. Ended up finding a solution to keep dry pretty quickly!
Last year my friend dad got stroke. So after visiting him at the hospital (43km) i rode my bike through a thunderstorm (90km/h). Goddamn its cold af

Is the gear breathable? It is hot here in Thailand even in the rain, so most of the time I don't wear rain gear because it gets too hot.
It’s quite hot when you are moving at slow speeds in warm weather or if you’re completely stopped. It’s not so bad when you’re moving.
Do they easily fit over a typical armoured cordura jacket?
Size wise, if you wear a medium tee shirt, would you buy a medium in this?

Not sure about road riding but in trail riding having a wet arse sucks 😜
It’s almost worse on the road because you’re so much less active than trail riding. Lots of time to get nice and cold on the road.
Wet.
Oh you.
