How do you people not realize that the dog understanding the vest is exactly the point? The dogs realize they have anxiety and be gentler, whereas a lot of people don't even believe in anxiety being an ongoing mental health issue, some people don't even believe in mental health in general.
This needs to be spread bc ppl tend to judge ppl before they know who they actually are,im quiet and so everyone at my school thinks i dont want to be friends with anyone when thats not the case i just have extreme social anxiety
Love this short so much. As an owner of an anxious dog that doesn’t like to socialize with a bunch of dogs at once it’s very relatable. I love the style and shapes of all the dogs and how expressive they are!
Even if it was just a coincidence, I appreciate the choice of a greyhound as the nervous ally. Because we all know there’s already a very famous nervous boi.
AHHH this is the cutest thing I've seen today! Fantastic film! Love the use of that instrument (ahhh idk what it's called) as a way to associate it to the feelings of the dog. Very effective. Also those wide, bulging eyes. Iconic. Great job! This is truly incredible!
I love the fact that all the dogs when they were scary had small fully white eyes but then once they showed more personality they had normal eyes like the main dog :0
its because eyes are the windows to the soul, so if you cannot understand another's soul, you cannot fully understand their eyes. and what is an eyes without it's pupil?
I don’t know if this was supposed to represent what it feels like to have social anxiety, but this genuinely makes me feel seen and like I am normal and okay.
I'm not crying, you're crying! But seriously, this is... simply gorgeous, and adorable. If only I could have a little yellow vest when I was having anxiety that people could see and understand :)
Ace q I can understand you well. I would also like something like that. (On the other hand, I have special headphones that are unfortunately / or fortunately noticeable. (some make fun of my construction worker headphones, but I can't stand loud noises well)
i have a pass to leave class with if it gets too loud, though it’s sad that it literally has to be spelled out or shown to people for them to understand, but when that is done it gets made fun if or makes the person more overwhelmed :(
I just really love how the one dog gives him the little nervous jacket and the other dogs *get* it and adjust how they interact to make the dog comfortable. It's just so sweet

A few days later I did a deep dive into social anxiety, and I realized that social anxiety has been affecting me for the majority of my life. Like originally I would just brush it off as "oh that's just a normal introvert thing," but really I think this video has helped me realize that every social interaction feeling like a hostage negotiation is not just a normal introvert thing.

hope you're doing good! I also have some aspects of anxiety, I wouldn't say I'm anxious 100% the time it completely depends on the situation I'm facing and I'm still learning to understand myself (I'm confortable talking in class and in front of lots of people but I'm uncomfortable talking to a group of people when I don't have something specific I need to tell them.. it's hard), but yeah, I've learned that people won't understand unless you communicate with them. I like how at the start you gave everyone no pupils/whites for their eyes, but near the end you added them. really helped me realize that the mood changed and everyone was happy c:
love the detail of the vests being yellow, cause since dogs can see bright yellow, the other dogs could conceivably be trained to recognize that dogs with that vest should be treated more gently
This is beautiful. noT only does it show what having anxiety is like, but it shows how other people and creatures can relate. And how if you open up a little, and show others that you are nervous, the will back off a bit.
Poor dog just wanted to get out but it ended wholesomely with that giant dog spreading awareness that he was NERVOUS and the dogs helped comfort him. So sweet.
I don’t remember exactly which one, but there was once an even that offered little rubber bracelets in different colors. They each meant different things about the wearer and their comfort level. One of the bracelets indicated “please leave me be.” It was a great idea imo, I’d like to see it used more often,
The yellow vests are provided by the use of reason of anyone with enough intellectual resources to notice the signals of who has social anxiety and who doesn't. The problem is that, nowadays, there are more apathetic people with no intellectual resources than empathic ones.
the ominous pipe organ sounds when the big dog turns around or appears are so incredible, cracks me up every time. i love this whole short, its wonderful. nervous little dog making friends and big nervous dog helping her is so wholesome. 10/10
as someone with social anxiety this really struck true to me, sometimes people dont know when they're hindering a situation- even if its not their fault since they aren't trained to spot anxiety or think their just being friendly- and I find it so sweet that the other dog was so kind to the nervous dog after seeing he had social anxiety, people irl can be really hostile and tease/bully so this was really beautiful
I enjoy how after the little dog gets the vest the other dogs eyes change from dots to where you can see the whites of their eyes, which kinda humanizes them!
I'm an autistic guy and I feel like when I have how to identify myself in some places, people can get more calm and accessible to me. As the proud brother of a dog with severe anxiety I couldn't agree more, he's just like this with other dogs too, we tried bringing him to the dog park one day and oh man.. He didn't like it one bit. Which was odd at first, because we socialized him plenty as a puppy! He just gets so nervous and hides behind us, doesn't let them near his butt. He's a people dog for sure, severe social anxiety. He loves my mom the most, she pretty much calls him her fluffy son which is why I tend to call myself his brother, he has severe separation anxiety when it comes to her and seeing the poor thing lay there and shake just breaks my heart. Dogs are capable of human emotion, so are cats! My cat Raichu freaks out when I'm not with him
I’m in tears after watching this. As someone who has multiple disabilities and who was diagnosed late with autism this makes so much sense. If I was diagnosed younger I wouldn’t have been forced to attend school and function as a neurotypical, which caused a lot of trauma. And so many doctors don’t think labels are important, but for people like me especially, they are very important as they can dictate how friends, authority figures, and doctors interact with someone. This really hit home with me, thank you so much for making this
Yooo late diagnosis squad! The idea that I might have autism didn't even come up until I hit college. How late was it for you? (I didn't initially talk a lot when I was a tot, but my parents weren't concerned enough to have me tested since I was also hiding behind my two older sisters and using them to communicate until I suddenly became a chatterbox) I think the counselor who helped me get the diagnosis said that the "spectrum" is seen differently now compared to decades ago. It was probably a case of me just barely squeezing in once the classification was open enough.
@@birdlythebirdkid5208 I was 11! Idk why no one picked it up earlier, I was having severe meltdowns since 3 or earlier, but no doctors would listen and kept telling my mum it was bad parenting which was a load of crap obviously. I think it was also delayed because especially back when I was a kid a lot of assigned male at birth folks would be much easier diagnosed than assigned female at birth folks like me (I’m transgender and have fully transitioned to male now) because autism presents differently in males vs females sex. I think there’s a lot more awareness now but unfortunately when I was a kid all this was still very misunderstood

As someone with severe social anxiety, this short film really resonates with me. To me, the meaning was that instead of hiding your anxiety, you should share it with others. Don’t be afraid to label yourself with an anxiety disorder for fear of the stigma around it. Instead, own it and the people that understand will be attracted to your honesty. In my case, my anxiety makes me seem like I’m being rude in public (I have a service dog that I have to tell people they can’t pet), but deep down I hope they know I’m doing my best. ❤

You know when you see a short that is so good you kinda want it as a series. I want this as a dog anxiety awareness thing. I dont think a lot of people can even think that their dog might be anxious.
My cat Raichu freaks out when I'm not with him
dont tell the artist what to animate
I’m in tears after watching this. As someone who has multiple disabilities and who was diagnosed late with autism this makes so much sense. If I was diagnosed younger I wouldn’t have been forced to attend school and function as a neurotypical, which caused a lot of trauma. And so many doctors don’t think labels are important, but for people like me especially, they are very important as they can dictate how friends, authority figures, and doctors interact with someone. This really hit home with me, thank you so much for making this
Yooo late diagnosis squad! The idea that I might have autism didn't even come up until I hit college. How late was it for you?
(I didn't initially talk a lot when I was a tot, but my parents weren't concerned enough to have me tested since I was also hiding behind my two older sisters and using them to communicate until I suddenly became a chatterbox)
I think the counselor who helped me get the diagnosis said that the "spectrum" is seen differently now compared to decades ago.
@@floofyworld I was diagnosed with adhd back in middle school, so I think a lot of my issues were just seen as symptoms of that. I made it through school, at least. This should literally be a short on Disney +
you captured exactly how dogs behave and their little quirks perfectly, some of these dogs reminded me of my dogs which was really cool
You're doing your best! We're proud of you 😁
Same I have a lot of anxiety I try to hide and I know I shouldn’t but sometimes it’s hard but over the years I’ve learned that sometimes it okay to share things

@@minseo19that’s epic as shit my dude :0 i live in a right-heavy area where people don’t believe autism is a thing; they think mental health is a “load of crap” but never something as cool as demon status >:D
that’s how I feel having autism; my overstimulation looks pretty much like the dog did being surrounded by other dogs :
This is me when it comes to socializing, many ppl dont know how bad having social anxiety is until they experience it, i just want people to stop judging me and telling me to just talk to people because even if i try ill have another panic attack, this described it in a cute and wholesome way so ty for this amazing animation :]
Thos makes me cry once again, rewatching it years later
Its so cute and wholesome
not only did it have a fun, funny, happy, sad plot all together, but its also probably one of the best animation styles ive seen on youtube in a while
as a person with anxiety who gets frequently overstimulated i understand this dog on another level
This is so cute I'm literally smiling so much from that. This could be a kid's show or something, just silent dogs but really good animation and storytelling. This video was so comforting to watch I loved it
