Great review man, I just bought this little monitor. Thank you!
@@riepuaustralis Hey! Yes, its amazing. Only downside is the annoying menu navigation buttons, but you'll get used to that also. But thats nothing considering the much much cheaper price then the other monitors in this category.
Thank you for the PS5 4K downscale info. Couldn't find it anywhere.
@@TotallydubbedHD so I did, and you mention the “virtual 4K” via downscaling, just wasn’t clear to me if this is @ 60hz or 120hz on PS5 at this resolution. Thanks for the response!

Great review, thanks! One question, does it have a USB hub? The Amazon and AOC sites show pictures of a USB hub on the back (right side when facing the screen, left side when facing the back) but I can't find it listed on the specs anywhere. I'm currently between two monitors, this being one of them and the other being iiyama G-Master GB2770QSU-B1, would you recommend the AOC or the iiyama? Thanks again!
Glad you liked the review!
As for the USB HUB, it's to do with the AOC variants that are available; look at the model name and that'll be the difference - but note, don't trust Amazon's listings when it comes to specs; they're often off.
As for the two monitors; not tested the other but can recommend this one.
Thanks for the review, im buying the aoc monior very soon, when looking at it and reading reviews I thought it was a massive scam, just looked too good. Thanks so much for the review

Which has better motion handling + input latency if you can recall: this or the BenQ EX3210r? Thanks
what is the actual input lag on this monitor? did you test this?
Hey man,
I've had my AOC monitor for about a year and a half, but recently I have been looking to reorganize my setup. I have been trying to rotate my monitor 90 degrees, but it almost seems to be stuck and the monitor isn't moving. I can move the monitor side to side and up and down, but when attempting to rotate it vertically, it won't budge. any tips?
Thanks.
Erm, not sure which one you have, but there are no tips to share. If a monitor has the appropriate adjustments, it should rotate.
Hello! Good review.
Could you review the Lenovo G27q-20? It's pretty close to it @ 165Hz too.
Thanks, glad you liked it!
Unlikely to review that model, but you never know :)
@@TotallydubbedHD Hah, no problem! I'm just impressed by the lack of English reviews, there's reviews on my language tho, but I wonder why the lack of English reviews. I'm from Chile and the monitor here with tax was $290.
@@TotallydubbedHD Maybe it's not so available in the US/UK? The Y27q-20 is available there, which is... basically the same panel, for all it counts.
you still recommend this now? or do you think there's better options out there, for Budget monitors
@Am that's just unlucky, but you shouldn't get any dead pixels on any new monitor.
Have you done a review on samsung odyssey g5? Its a bit cheaper than AOC Q27G2E/BK. Should I get that one instead? Thanks for the review bro.
The BenQ EX2780Q is currently cheaper than this monitor, unless the extra few hz matter to me is there any reason to choose this monitor instead? Thanks for the great reviews!
Nope! That BenQ is on sale and is an incredible monitor for the price. Glad you liked the reviews!
If you're going via Amazon, links in the description give me commission :)
This is 24 inch with 2k res, so sharper than benq and also benq is 60hz this one way more
@@Blackstar-ti4py What are you talking about? The monitor in the video is 2k 27inch at 165 Hz and the benq monitor I was talking about is 2k 27inch 144 Hz. No where has anyone mentioned a 24 inch 60 Hz display.
Thanks for the info. Do you know if my laptop HDMI 2.1 output will support g-sync with the laptop, using the HDMI (1920x1080). I got no DP unfortunately. There're a some users complaining about backlight bleeding and ghosting even with the tunings on. Is that something you've notice? I basically only play FPS games on high level.
It's unlikely you'll get G-Sync with HDMI. That said, if you're a hardcore gamer you won't want to cap your frames nor have any bit of extra input nor system lag.

Hey man, nice vid. You're one of the reviewers I really trust when it comes to Monitors.
I'm quite undecisive when it comes to picking a 1440P monitor. Right now I use a 1080P 60Hz monitor from 2012 and I want to make the huge leap.
I want to choose between this monitor, BenQ EX2780Q and Xiaomi 2k gaming monitor 165Hz. Which one do you recommend?

5:00 My question is does it support 1440p 120hz on the PS5 now since sony now supports 1440 output?
Interesting that you found it less responsive than the BenQ since that monitor is advertised at 5ms and this one at 1ms. I really hate reading specs on Amazon these days. They seem to print anything they like. Should be stronger laws to govern these people. The times I sent products back because they lie, such as claiming DP1.4 when it's 1.2 and an 8k60hz cable when it isn't even managing 4k60hz.
Oh I wouldn't trust specs on Amazon, you'll sometimes find FHD panels listed as 5K lol!
@@TotallydubbedHD Right?! It's laughable reading reviews as well. Looking at QHD monitors some reviewers say "Displays 4k at 60hz no problem" lol. Bought and paid for reviews seem to be 90% of them. Might as well take a risk on ebay these days.

Around 3 weeks ago I bought AOC Q27G2S 165Hz monitor. But 2560x1440 will only do 10 bit @120Hz. 165Hz will revert back to 8-bit colour mode.
Also HDR is not recognized! Any ideas? Is this a monitor limitation? I also upgraded to SOOMFON 1.4 DisplayPort cable and still it made no difference.
DXDiag shows HDR Support: Not Supported
Monitor Capabilities: HDR Supported (BT2020RGB BT2020YCC Eotf2084Supported ). What is this meant to be???
DP Capabilities 1.2/1.4 on the monitor control panel. I have sent you an email a couple of weeks ago but you didn't respond to me. I wasted my money buying new 1.4 DisplayPort cable thinking this will solve the problem. Sadly it does not! Any help confirming this will be appreciated.
1. It's not a native 10-bit panel, so that's why
2. HDR should work at its native resolution/refresh rate
3. No idea about that DX thing
4. Yes your rude second email wasn't appreciated, and you'll note that emails are for business only. You wasted your own money, don't blame me, ridiculous.
@@TotallydubbedHD Many thanks for your response.
I've just made an experiment by plugging in a HDMI cable and the Play HDR games and apps instantly allowed me to turn it on! This time I have HDR enabled with HDMI cable.
This gives me 8 bit + dithering with 144Hz. But of-course I can't get 165Hz due to the HDMI limitation.
But connecting either the DisplayPort cable that came with the monitor or the new 1.4 SOOMFON should've allowed me to at least get HDR support. But it doesn't. Why's that?
If I buy a newer HDMI cable such as 2.1 will it work to give me 165Hz refresh rate? The problem is the DisplayPort will give me 165Hz but the HDR option will show as Not Supported by the display. Only HDMI is allowing me to get HDR option enabled.
Anyway, I can return back the SOOMFON cable back to Amazon for a refund. Someone else on the tomshardware forum said my GTX 960 doesn't support DisplayPort 1.4, but some site says it does. Bit frustrating.
Maybe I can use 120Hz 10bit instead for desktop and 165Hz for gaming.
@@BLaZiNgSPEED89 might be your GPU then. No idea, but I was connected over DP. You should be able to get HDR.
New cables won't help, as it's likely your GPU connector outputs that are limiting you.
HDMI 2.0 only supports 144hz? Didn't know that.
Indeed, HDMI 2.0 gets up to 1440p 144hz, but can't do anything more - for 165Hz you'll need DP 1.2 or above. See this video or more info: ua-cam.com/video/daHrqIFieBU/v-deo.html
