  • This video contains two recent matches I had with the LV2 Gundam Ground Type on Gundam Battle Operation 2. It is a 300-500 cost general with high HP, fairly good mobility, a high damage melee combo when using the beam rifle and an adaptable loadout depending on playstyle. Its weaknesses would be that it has to choose between a slow cooldown bazooka or long focus time beam rifle, along with the melee damage not being that good unless you are using your tackle or beam rifle between downswings. This suit used to be pretty mediocre but the recent buff improved boosting speed by 5, turning speed by 6, HP by 1500, melee modifier by 8, ranged modifier by 10 and also granted a skill that reduces thrust used on boost start-up by 10%. This is a great all rounder buff that makes it quite flexible depending on your loadout and build choices, it can choose to be a bulky frontliner with bazooka or a high damage beam rifle equipped raid hunter depending on preference. I hope that you enjoy watching!
    The Ground Gundam can choose between a bazooka, beam rifle or machine gun for primary weapons. The machine gun is a complete non-starter. The bazooka lets you play like a traditional frontliner general while the beam rifle offers higher overall damage and leg breaking ability at the cost of needing to charge to stun. The LV2 beam rifle has 1260 (1732) power, 2 seconds cooldown, 50% (90%) heat, 13 seconds overheat, 0.77 seconds swap time, 405m (505m) range, 4 seconds focus time and 8% (30%) stagger value. This has pretty poor stats overall but it is somewhat excusable due to it being a low cost weapon. It can do higher damage than expected considering the suits high base ranged modifier, especially against raids.
    Its primary melee weapon is a beam saber with 1785 power, 2.5 seconds cooldown, 0.77 seconds swap time and standard modifiers. This has pretty poor power but it isn't that far behind other 300-350 costers at the same time. It can do high melee damage if you fire a beam rifle shot or use your shield tackle inbetween downswings.
    Its first sub weapon is a chest vulcan gun with 68 power, 30 ammo, 450 RPM, 6 seconds reload, 0.77 seconds swap time, 200m range, 510 DPS and 2% stagger value. The stagger value is low but it has decent DPS and range for this low cost range. It is good for finishing off weak enemies or to accumulate stagger after a bazooka shot.
    Its second sub weapon is a flash bomb with 0 power, 1 ammo, 18 seconds reload, 80m range and 0% stagger value. This has long reload time and inflicts no damage but it instantly staggers as long as it explodes in front of the enemy MS. It has longer range than it first seems due to the radius of the flash explosion, and can also be fired while boosting.
    It also has a small shield with 2530 HP. This shield doubles tackle power while unbroken, but it boosts walking/turning speed by 5% if it does break. This boosts your default walking speed to 129, which is rather alright for 300-350 cost.
    The LV2 Gundam Ground Type has 15000 HP, 14 ballistic resist, 10 beam resist and 12 melee resist. This is some of the highest HP that 350 cost generals get, only really being surpassed or matched by suits like Zaku II Stutzer and Hygogg. But Ground Gundam is way smaller than these suits. This makes it very suitable for frontline play if using a bazooka. It gets LV1 Emergency Evasion for a defensive skill.
    It also has 120 (123 including ground affinity) walk speed, 175 boosting speed, 60 thrust and 54 (60 including ground affinity) turning speed. The walking speed is a little bit slow but is still perfectly in line with 300-350 costers. It is otherwise quite nimble and easy to handle, basically being just behind Gouf VD and Efreet in terms of mobility.
    It also benefits from having the combination of LV1 Enhanced Tackle and Shield Tackle. Enhanced Tackle boosts the base 600 power tackle to 900, and Shield Tackle doubles it to 1800. This gives your tackles roughly the same power as a saber neutral swing as long as your shield is equipped. This is less useful with the beam rifle loadout since you can insert that between downswings, but it is very useful at times to get extra damage with the bazooka loadout.
    Overall I think that while the Gundam Ground Type can't be described as a strong suit, it definitely can be described as a solid one. It doesn't have any notable weaknesses and is durable enough to be able to make mistakes and survive. It would have been nice to see the vulcan gun get more stun accumulation and the flash bomb to have its reload time dropped, but I can't really complain considering the other buffs it got. If you wanna win in rated matches then the Aqua GM is definitely going to be the superior option, but Gundam Ground Type isn't weak either if you are looking for a bruiser sort of general that can take some damage. Thanks for watching!

    As a new player on the Steam version I've really appreciated the level 1 version in its cost category. I didn't know the flare could be fired when boosting, I definitely have not made use of that, but I've really appreciated this suit's simplicity. Charge shot, melee people, vulcan weak enemies, get people with the tackle.

      Unit recommendations for different Battle Costs below :
      Since the Gundam Ground Type buff is not on PC yet, I think you may like GM2, Aqua GM ( for underwater maps ) and Gouf VG [ Arranged from on Easiest to understand on left to Medium difficulty on right. ]
      on Cost 300 as well.
      If you want something similar on other costs,
      there is GM Custom on 400 cost ( 1st dodgeroll leaves some thrusters left for actions, better than default Gundam my opinion ) ,
      Alex Gundam on 450 cost [ plays very similar to what you described, with a fast Gatling gun on arm for leg breaks ] ,
      Gundam Mk2 on 500 cost ( No Charging needed for stagger, and you have a 2nd insta-stagger weapon ) ,
      Gundam GP01 on 550 cost ground ( Extremely simple and versatile unit, strong blazing fast Vulcans that can build stagger and stop enemies, and low cooldown beam rifle alongside Melee priority 3 for Tackle Counters. ) , and Gundam GP01fb on 550p cost space.
      Also, tackling people randomly is quite dangerous to ourselves, unless there are no enemies to back the target up, or he is very low HP and you + teammate having a rough time stopping him.
      Not having Thrusters means you're a goner in CQB ( Can't dodgeroll, can't boost away, can't tackle )

      @@user-ov5jd2fy2y Yea, there was a lot of VPN / Accelerator china players at launch which hurted the Peer-to-peer networking this game has.
      It seems to be better now but I've heard that cheaters using hacks have been appearing on the first 2 subranks ( D- and D ) .
      I suggest waiting for the next update before getting into a Rated Match,
      but before that just logging in and play Battle Simulator ( coop or solo vs AI ) and Quick Match shouldn't hurt. Even by just logging in you can claim stuff that will help you out a lot later.

    A video about the RX79 ground gundam? Hell yeah!
    Me and my m8 love running this MS. As an extra nod to the anime, we slap the 08 number on it too.

    For me, the best thing about the Ground Type now is its flash bomb. It’s still a decent MS, but the more recent ones are often more picked.

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  Рік тому +1

      It would be pretty interesting. Maybe make it like EXAM but with a smaller bonus. Could be something like +5 walk speed, +5 boost speed, +10 ranged modifier, +10 melee modifier, -15% thrust used, LV2 Emergency Evasion and maybe high melee priority. Dunno how long MAX mode lasts in the anime but 60 seconds might be fair, especially since it wouldn't be as impactful as EXAM or HADES.

    Actually if I want to play the ground gundam, wouldn't it be better for me to run the weapon rack version of it since I will be able to do more with the cannon? Or is the normal version more versatile since it is more agile?

    • @avenger1_gbo260
      @avenger1_gbo260  Рік тому +1

      The weapon rack version is a support while the regular one is a general, so the roles are far different. WR Ground Gundam is purely a shooting suit with no real melee ability, but regular Ground Gundam is a suit which wants to melee whenever possible.

      @@avenger1_gbo260 I use M and KB and honestly it feels pretty good once you set a few different keybinds and remap crouch. You can be extremely accurate , only issue is the latency is aweful on 60% of matches, actually envy some of the latency gems of matches you get on console if I am honest. Space combat feels bad on keyboard, might need to adjust another keybind for that exclusively.
