I have two quesions. 1. If segment 2 failed after multiple re-transmission, will pc2 drop the entire segements? and after will there be any ack that segments got dropped? 2. what is re-transmission algo , how does PC decide?
Hello I think that at the 5:15 in the video in fact the PC1 will send Data 2 and Data 3 again. PC1 has no idea if PC2 has received Data 3 or not. In order to be able only to send back Data 2 it would required to use TCP SACK
