Really? A street light? With a motion sensor? A tiny battery, tiny solar
panel and small LED power. Commercial it isn't. Real solar street
lights do not look like this. Municipalities that purchase solar street
lights do not buy this. It's a low-end Chinese product that should not
be defined as a "street light". The solar panel is fixed and lays almost
dead flat. What's that all about? It's a well known fact that in the
northern hemisphere (such as the USA), a solar panel should face
directly south at around a 35 to 60 degree angle (depending on your
geographic location). A solar panel should never face north and should
not sit flat. So because these all-in-one/integrated style lights, such
as this, do not have a separate solar panel, it's impossible to expect
it to perform properly. In addition, it will have a tiny lithium battery
that cannot possibly allow the light to last all night long at full
output. The solar panel is super small anyway so not much to expect from
that either. In the USA, in mid-winter the nights can be up to 15 hours
long. Maybe that's why it can only work with a motion detector or works
in super dim mode. Real street lights do not use motion detectors
either. If you are looking for a REAL solar street light or REAL solar
parking lot light then avoid these all-in-one style fixtures. A
professional, solar street lighting company will be able to guide you on
what is best. If you know anything about solar you will be able to
relate. If you don't know or don't understand how solar works, then
speak with an expert. There is no one size fits all. That's not how
    solar works.
