had my bedroom windows open just now and the intro started, and i was like, "it's about to get crushing in here" and shit kicked in and it was loud as fuck
This song does a lot more than "Man In The Box" with that riff. There is a lot going on with the drums that doesn't happen in Alice's song. The change in this song is wicked too.

when I first started smoking Alot of good weed I discovered this album and it took my mind to a different place. I can tell he must have been stoned when he wrote this album too lol just has a certain feel to it.
@@jasonb.3902 haha 😂 this would probably give someone a bad trip if they were on Lsd, Shrooms or mescaline ! It already sounds like a psychedelic trip haha
Alice In Chains may have done one part of this song, but Godflesh does it better. Most Alice In Chains songs are painful and slow, just like Pearl Jam. Eddie Vedder needs to get a job as a janitor. He can't sing.
I totally agree, bro. Alice In Chains should be a doom metal band. "Rooster" is a prime example, and I hate Pearl Jam. Every song is that same slow groove.
@@Gregbaltzer Piotchshifter completely sold out. First couple albums were grinding & crushing but then they got weak unlike Godflesh who after reforming in 2013 were as great as ever
@@rustykuntz94 I love Godflesh. and have every album and EP from them. My favorites are streetcleaner, Songs of Love and Hate, and Cold World Ep. I really did dig early pitchshifter but their later stuff sucks ass. There are a couple Godflesh albums I'm not fond of though eg. Selfless, and Us Vs. Them.
Greg Baltzer I dig Selfless but Us & Them is a hard sell for me too. That & the album before it were mediocre at best, they changed things up a bit & I didn’t love it. They are on of my all time favorite bands though, love a lot of Broadrick’s side projects too
Good song. Not that familiar with Sloth. Might have to listen to them more. The Swans song isnt that heavy by noise or speed or whatever standards, more in concept of the song its self. Lol. Raze The Stray by Neurosis is also a good song.
I know I’m 5 years late, here, but I know one heavy album I can’t live without since accidentally discovering it years ago: Skullflower’s ‘Xaman’ The entire album is amazing but, personally, I like the tracks ‘Slaves’, ‘Sunset’ and ‘Barbed Wire Animal’. ‘The Shit Hits The Fan’ might be the heaviest song on the album, however.
I listen to Godflesh often, and so do my neighbors.
GOOD
🤣🤣🤣🤣👍👍🤘🤘🍺

Amen
It’s not the same riff. Behold. The heavy!
I fucking love this song. It's one of my favorite Godflesh songs, along with "Jesu".
This song, and "Don't Bring Me Flowers" are my favorites by far.

EXACTLY.
Godflesh & Kinghorse were 7-8 yrs ahead of everyone musically speaking.

Best Hiking Track!
Maybe they're heaviest fucking song! MY GOD
The Sound of Sky Falling!
One of my favorite workout songs 😁

Bought Streetcleaner thought ok cool but this LP was a step above.
When I need the heaviest possible fucking thing to satisfy my soul, this is what I pull out.
Oh... the memories!!!!
3:07 THEY TELL LIES!!!!
This album is as good as Streetcleaner.
Justin helped co-found grindcore, then left to found the Flesh
Damn..... I Remember when this came out on cassette
Pure, what else Better noise for My ear?
this and Monotremata are as good as anything else of Streetcleaner.
Maybe the heaviest most evil song created by man.
The first album says its hard and therefore will be
Man in the Box vibes
Loopflesh
“Man In The Box” meets metal

AIC was heavily influenced by Saint Vitus, band on SST. Every band sounds like other bands similar influences. No biggie.

@@E.C.2 Mozart sounded a lot like Haydn sometimes.
Rammstein ripped this band 100%.
Yes they did, and like all rip-offs they did it in the most mediocre way possible. Easily digestible for the mainstreams taste.
Not as bad as Pitchshifter though. But I kind of like that first Pitchshifter album and EP. After that they were shit.

For those who think this is the heaviest song ever, may I submit "I'd Rather Die than Fly" by The Abominable Iron Sloth.
Try “Paso Inferior” by Corrupted or “Mother, My Body Disgusts Me” by Swans
@@hexus9198 Paso Inferior was a bit too slow for me. They can play it at my funeral.
