When you commented about Darla representing the barracuda I was kinda shocked. In the Brazilian Portuguese dub, Darla says, instead of the piranha quote: "I'm a barracuda! They are ferocious!" I'm sure they had to change 'piranha' for something else because it is a bad word to call someone in Brazil, but the choice of making her call herself a barracuda bugs me even more now.
Excellent observation! You won't believe how much help I've had on theories based sheerly on the fact that international word changes to scripts alter everything.
symbolisum, nemo is in a tank, when he justwanted freedom, he's caged in. marlin, is in the open sea, a freedom he dosen;t want, they are both trapped in their own cages, one litterally, the other mentally.
I don't know why but this movie legit creeps me out the ocean just creeps me out especially creatures in the deep sea but the one ting about this movie that still freaks me out is that God Damn Anglerfish my god
I feel like Darla really does symbolize the Barracuda, since her shirt says "rock n roll" almost like a subtle reference to the famous song 'Barracuda' by Heart.
A mourning mind may be desperate to make comforting dulusions rather than face the reality that there never was a child who survived . Not was there a optimistic freind to counterbalance you and peresaude you not to give up .
I WAS LITERALLY JUST THINKING THE SAME THING. Because, why did Marlin just randomly pick the name "Nemo" out of all possible names? It's not even a popular name before this movie came out, yet he just quickly named the last egg Nemo for no apparent reason. Was it just the movie's way of finding a creative name for the title that hasn't really been used yet or is there more to it???
I can't help but wonder what would have happened if coral would have gone back into the anemone with Marlin. The barracuda was obviously fixated on them and if they would have gone back he would have most likely striked at them and got shocked sending him away. I feel as though BECAUSE she tried to "act like a worrying mother" and swim towards her eggs, it ultimately led to their demise. think about it. When a dogs treat rolls under something they continue to bite until they grab their treat. Coral was the treat and the eggs were collateral damage. If his goal was the eggs he would have made it a point to eat Nemo too. Coral most likely resisted as much as possible in that small cave until the barracuda got her. Just something I've always pondered. thoughts?
Esmeralda Trinidad I think that the barracuda wanted the eggs more then coral and marlin themselves. Coral swam down to the eggs to try and protect them and the barracuda succeeded by killing coral and all the other eggs except for Nemo because he was just either hidden or lucky.
Unfortunately this is how female clownfish are. They fight and defend, even if hiding is the best option! If the eggs died she could of easily made more soon enough, but by trying to protect them she ended them.
Here’s my theory: Nemo = no one in Latin Finding Nemo = finding no one Marlin was so traumatized from his family being killed that he became delusional and goes searching for his dead son who is just in his head. Dory is his replacement for his wife in his mind and everyone and everything is in his head. Boom
Maybe this is why they make the glass in the picture frame shatter. So the crack can represent both the barracuda (Darla) and Gill's scar (the death of coral)
Yo, in Latin, they use the word 'nemo' to me 'no one'. So, by this understanding, the title 'Finding Nemo' should also mean 'Finding No one'. Take that as you will...
I like this theory, as it is on my favourite Pixar movie. I also want to point out that when Dory and Marlin are in the whales' mouth, Dory says when the water goes down "it is half full," but Marlin says that "it is half empty." This is the showing of Marlin's negativity throughout the film, and Dory trying to make him see the positive. The word "full" makes it sound big, strong and happy, but the word empty makes it sound low, small and depressed. As you said in the video, Dory says that "It's time to let go," trying to get Marlin get rid of those negative emotions. And it works! I came up with this as I watched that scene. You have no idea how many times I have seen this film
what if marlin never woke up and his whole adventure was just a dream and one day he wakes up and his wife and all his kids are safe and it makes him see the world in a different way
If Marlin was refusing to move on, his depression in losing Coral wouldn't allow the transition to become female to happen (biologically I don't know if that would be a conscious or unconscious choice for a clown fish) He would not replace her even as himself, probably because he felt that he didn't deserve that position.
I’m really glad you went this route with hw theory, I was growing very weary of hearing the same old “Marlin only saved Nemo so he could mate with him” theory. This new theory was actually very deep and I really enjoyed it.

I found something very interesting. When I was looking over Gill's profile, in the trivia section, Gill tells Nemo, "Tell your dad I said 'hi.'" This statement came across odd as I don't believe Gill met Marlin before.
The Darla theory is VERY good but it would explain why Darla would not stop shaking the bag because ( this sounds really dark ) she wanted to kill the LAST of Marlins Children
Also the movie clearly shows the similarity between Gill and Nemo, through there fins being abnormal, which also helps alot to make Gill into a mentor figure in the movie
Bruhhhhh the whale part gave me chills. As a kid, and until now, I always wondered why that scene was the way it was. Why did it seem so apparent that a part of the movie's message was too let go of something? It didn't make much sense to me but I didn't think of it much but omg that explains a lot
Another theory is that Marlin is just dreaming or pretending that he has a child (Nemo) and has to protect him because of the barracuda in the past. In Latin, Nemo means "nothing," so Marlin could possibly be pretending that he has a child, but Nemo isn't actually there. It would also make sense (Finding Nothing) because Dory is there to help with Martin's situation, and helps him get over losing Nemo (if Nemo was actually lost) and becomes less strict as before and back to his normal self (when he was with Coral).
I'd like to thank you in advance for reading this! As I'm typing this I have found out that "Nemo" actually means "Nobody/None" in latin. I know you know where this is going, am I right? "Finding Nobody". Could it be? That none of Marlin's eggs survived? Could it be that Marlin was trying to find a child that never survived? Did he lose it after seeing his wife and children die? Or maybe he knew all along... He told Dory he was looking for his son as a subconscious excuse. He was really looking for his lost self all this time... If you've seen the movie you know that he didn't actually have a strong character at all. He seemed lost and a bit confused most of the time. Was this "finding my son" thing maybe to find his self? To find a meaning to his life after he lost everything? Maybe everyone knew about Marlin's mind being lost and nobody mentioned anything about Nemo not existing. They all knew that he couldn't accept the loss, so they played this "game" along, as if Nemo was there. Also, later in the movie, Nemo is trapped in an aquarium. In my opinion this can either mean two things. Either this is Nemo's passage from purgatory to the afterlife. You see how he is outside the sea inside the aquarium? He is concious but he is trapped, and he goes through all those challenges the other fish give him to free himself, to free his soul. The other is that maybe Nemo (representing Marlin's thoughts and lost mind and/or self) has to go through these challanges to mature. Nemo is trying to escape the "box" he is trapped in. Marlin is trying to escape the state his mind is in, he is fightin to "think out of the box". See the similarity? I could actually go on and say that Dory represents Marlin's confused and puzzled mind and thoughts in the movie. This whole time, this movie might have actually been about Marlin all along... I hope you liked my theory and 0nce more, thank you for reading, and thank you for all those great videos!
Finding Nemo, the story of a man who's entire family except for one of his sons is murdered, quickly being followed by that son getting kidnapped and the man has to travel thousands of miles with the help of a mentally handicapped woman to get his son back.
Has no one noticed, if you really look well, you can see some very similar patterns between Gill's scars and the cracks in the glass on Darla's image? I had to keep looking between shots, but you can't unsee it once you do. Is it possible that he had a run in with her and not Dental tools? Or something entirely different. OML. I HAVE THE CRAZIEST THEORY. If Marlin and Coral had that much fish , and it was only Nemo who survived, wouldn't the attack happened to lots of fish from the school Nemo went to? There isn't a single fish there with siblings! Well maybe a few but you get the point. The fish are about the same age, so the attacks happened at the same time?
The movie is essentially a "there and back again", where the destination doesn't matter as much as the personal growth the travelers experience en route. Nemo's subplot is just a minor "coming of age" plot. Mostly it's two separate movies. All the actors have a personality flaw they must overcome, even Bruce the shark.
In Latin nemo means the word 'Nothing' And There's a depression effect called the nemo effect where u see hallucinations. I believe marlin and dory both hallucinated the entire movie
It's a little ironic that Darla, who is supposed to represent the barracuda responsible for the clown fish eggs genocide (potential children) is a child herself.
I literally was expecting you to say dory and gill together represent what coral would've been if she'd survived.. brain damaged, and injured.. I was way off lol
Darla's Rockstar shirt? Is made of Sully's skin after Jack Jack learned to use his powers... Sully once scared him and since that day something changed inside him. hahahahahahaha
I think your right: Nemo is being taught that this is what happens when you don’t listen. Marlin is taught to have back up plans, be optimistic and calm for Nemo’s sake and if Nemo wants to explore…then Marlin learns that some things to be let go of and that he will learn what’s right and what isn’t in his own time. Together they can compromise which what I think Finding Nemo was teaching: to be careful and wise but not be so careful and wise that you are a boring always worried person. And to learn to compromise and that some things you need to let go of.

This would make a good english essay about visuals and their meaning haha
that makes sense
The movie is essentially a "there and back again", where the destination doesn't matter as much as the personal growth the travelers experience en route. Nemo's subplot is just a minor "coming of age" plot. Mostly it's two separate movies. All the actors have a personality flaw they must overcome, even Bruce the shark.
I was watching Finding NemoAnd something caught my attention Gill said to Nemo "tell your dad I sad hi" Do you think Gill knew Marlin ?
He heard of him
A much better theory than that stupid "Nemo doesn't actually exist" theory.
Wow so close to 300k
In Latin nemo means the word 'Nothing'
And There's a depression effect called the nemo effect where u see hallucinations.
I believe marlin and dory both hallucinated the entire movie
It's a little ironic that Darla, who is supposed to represent the barracuda responsible for the clown fish eggs genocide (potential children) is a child herself.
when the movie u make becomes famous
everyone: makes theories about it
Have you guys found me yet?? 😂😂😂
Dory The Dog Is Here I FOUND YOU
Battle Call yay now you keep me
It may not be rellevant to the theory, but Nemo spelled backwards is Omen.
What if Marlin is just imagining thing and nemo is dead Dory wouldn't know because she has short term memory loss😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮
Nemo means nobody in Latin
I literally was expecting you to say dory and gill together represent what coral would've been if she'd survived.. brain damaged, and injured.. I was way off lol
Nemo’s name in Latin means no one so Marlin must have lost Nemo before he hatched and goes on a quest to find him but in reality he is finding no one.
I heard a theory that Darla is Syndrome´s daughter , can you make a video about it?
Darla's Rockstar shirt? Is made of Sully's skin after Jack Jack learned to use his powers... Sully once scared him and since that day something changed inside him. hahahahahahaha
How did you come to that conclusion
Well that thumbnail won't help me sleep.
Personal experience with barracudas ,
They are terrifying
Holy flip that thumbnail
I have a feeling you will reach 1 Mil some day!
