Could you please tell me the name of this series?
@@patstarfish9514 It's not what if?
Awesome
Steve says you owe me a date. Their line is you owe me a dance. This was the episode's way of knowing Steve wasn't himself.
Also, I'd say Bucky is standing in for a good version of Alexander Pierce, rather than Ross.
@NewRockstars the “beers with aliens” is probably Thor.
The Watcher exclaiming “What the hell is this!?” Is so damn funny to me. Just him sounding like sort of surprised but also not the first time of him seeing his story being interrupted before is perfect
ITS LITERALLY HYSTERICAL
Agreed
Agreed, I had to rewatch it a couple times because it was too damn funny. Especially the way he goes from dead serious to "are you *bleeping* kidding me? I'm getting interrupted AGAIN?!"
Yes it was so fun
The contrast to his speech about how he didn't see it coming this time is perfect
Bruce would be normal because he experimented with Gamma to recreate The Super Soldier Serum, but since it was deemed a 'failure' in the eyes of the government with Peggy getting it, there would be no need to recreate it, so no Hulk
Bucky in this episode, considering it mirrors Captain America: The Winter Soldier a lot, is not a stand-in for Ross but for Alexander Pierce. Further role reversal, as Bucky is not Hydra, opposed to Pierce.
Nice
Bucky living the life he could've lived had HYDRA not abducted him and turned him into their weapon.
@@SuperCaders It's just a bit weird. Bucky is born in 1918, the events of this movie take place in roughly 2014. Therefore Bucky is still working in his 90s
I love Carter and Widow’s friendship. It’s amazing
They're literally my favorite friendship in the Multiverse at this point
Agreed!
@@jmaurice72Loki and mobius friendship clears
It seems this universe doesn't have a modern Hydra since Bucky and Steve wiped them out. Which would explain Crossbones being good.
I love the switch up too but i thought for sure Bucky was gonna die since in the sacred timeline peggy died, steve was cap and buck was brainwashed
That could've happened although granted Peggy in the Main MCU universe didn't die til the events of Civil War which is I think a few years after Winter Soilder
Oh yea@@JacksonLane02
Nostalgia
Best case scenario he lives to see Steve somewhat back to normal before dying. since, like someone else said, our Peggy went through the same but with Bucky
Plus Bucky would be from 18 where Peggy could be a bit older like 20ish or older
Having beers with Aliens is probably referring to Thor more than likely.
Or Skrulls...
Definitely Thor
Can we talk about the fact that Wanda potentially did something that even the Watcher had not known and therefore wasnt meant to happen??
Well without the darkhold I think he figured wanda couldn't just break the multiverse anymore and summoning Captain Carter is dangerous as it could make an incursion
Apparently he doesn’t know everything, he just knows a lot from observing so much
Did you notice that as the watcher was repairing the walls of the place he watches from was green being sealed with gold? Maybe the reason the watcher didn't know what was going was because that's when Loki took control of the timelines. See how Loki is now the god of stories, he may have grown far more powerful than the watcher and now the watcher has no idea what comes next.
And what if the only reason why the watcher knows anything up till now, was because he who remains had a set path for them to follow and the watcher was getting all his information from He who remains, a Kang variant.
So is Loki aware of the Watcher?? Is the Watcher aware of Loki guarding the timelines?
You didn't mention how when Natasha turned the jet to catch Peggy and the hydra stomper it was a call back to age of Ultron where they caught visions body in that box the same way
I always love when the Watcher breaks character from the noble wise god to straight up just saying “What the hell is this?!?!?!”
I was glad to see crossbones appear as shield agent. Shepherding bucky through the building he exited the MCU too early in the film series.
exited too early but his death caused a ripple in the whole MCU when he blew up with that building
I just realize it is a three way role swap:
Peggy -> Steve
Steve -> Bucky
Bucky -> Peggy
like even if the roles are a bit different, the layout is very similar at least.
"a nice friendship duo"- they were straight up flirting!
Yeah there was a lot of romantic tension dawg I’m ngl
@@Crox101 there wasnt lmao, carter was going for steve...
Might be the best episode so far. Style, story and choreography are all on point.
I love Jeffrey Wright’s little voice crack when saying “What the hell is this?”
I laughed out loud and rewound that twice!!! 😂😂😂
Diggin Nick's 1600 twirl mustache
Same
IT WAS SO PERFECT OH MY GOD
I loved that, too. I had to watch it a couple of times because it was so funny.
9:40 I figured the “alien” he drank beers with was Thor.
Yup as Thor told Jane about how they're just aliens and their science looks like magic to mortals
I think that in this universe, Peggy being Cap somehow caused Hank to never leave Shield, causing Wasp to join the Avengers early on, and also somehow caused to be no attempts at recreating the super soldier serum, which causes Bruce to never become the Hulk
This is because peggy in this universe (supposedly) posthomously became an female allied war hero in ww2 causing feminist movement all around the world. So, around the world including earth in this universe, may granted women to join intelligence agencies and militaries including shield
The 88 on the Hydra Stomper’s leg plate might be a reference to Hail Hydra. The letter H being the 8th letter in the alphabet, 88 is used in real life as a hail to another very infamous historical figure who’s name also starts with H
Hulk Hogan?
Is nobody going to mention how you can see Loki's green and gold colours taking over the multiverse during The Watcher's introduction??? 3:55
🤔
🤔
Ok 🤔🤨
Legit was about to say this!! I'm so glad I'm not crazy
Loki 🐐
“shared beers with aliens” was prolly a reference to Thor
When he says “I’ve shared beers with aliens” I think he was talking about Thor.
It would make sense for Uatu to keep watching this universe. At the end of season 1, he vowed to defend the multiverse, rather than just observe. He's probably keeping tabs on all his guardians, and looking for more potential recruits along the way.
The attention to detail with every aspect of this episode is insane… truly I’m amazed. I’m so excited for 1602 BRING IT!!!
Another detail is that in Black Widow Alexei was super proud of Natasha rising from a killer to an Avenger, whereas here Malena is disgusted by it
Jessica, as usual you get my THANKS for great work!!!!
This was the BEST episode by far 😍
I think the Hydra Stomper’s wrists were also a reference to the widow’s bite launchers that widows from the red room use
When he said he drunk beer with aliens, I think he was referencing the previous What if... episode. After they stopped Ego, didn't they drink with Thor at the end of the episode before the next mission.
Its not the same timeline, since in this Captain Carter timeline Bucky lived and grew a normal life and Steve Rogers was the one who took his place as like Winter Soldier thingy but named Hydra Stomper while on the Quill Celestial timeline, he was captured and became a Winter Soldier.
I got strong Iron Monger vibes from the Hydra Stomper suit. The revolving cannon, the helmet.
You totally glossed over the Steve double cross of Peggy in the first place.
If you dont know, 88 has a very specific connotation when it comes to nazi's, and thus hydra. It's a dogwhistle they use, referencing how H is the 8th letter of the aphebet, so HH as in, that thing they say when they heil you-know-who
Real world nazis use 88 as a dogwhistle, so keep an eye out for odd references to that number
88 might be a reference to HH = Hail Hydra.
More Captain Carter and Natasha! Give them a movie.
I would love to see that
Absolutely
Hayley Atwell kicked ass in MI:7. We're definitely getting more MCU Captain Carter
1:34 "we get a nice best friend duo from Peggy and Nat"
yeah right there was no sexual tension at all ;)
Animators definitely didn't inserted some tease between them.
Wow, the MCU needs MORE gayness. For sure
When the hydra stomper brakes to destroy the jet behind him, it's a call back to one of iron man's first moves.
When the widows jump the fence, it's a shot remake of the avengers at the beginning of age of ultron.
My favourite line was Peggy's "i have a shield" line!
The whole episode, i tried figuring out which 80s movie this was like... nothing came to mind except maybe red dawn?
Isn't the scotland lighthouse the lighthouse in Agents of Shield? Looks pretty close to it
That part where Steve flies into the red room reminds me of the Independence Day scene when Russel crashes into the saucer on top of Area 51 to destroy that ship.
I’m surprised we didn’t have more dark endings this season but this was one of them
I liked “The Iron Giant” parallel towards the end when the Hydra Stomper(Steve) flew towards the red room!
"SUPERMAN!"
I can't be the only one who was thinking that there seemed to be alot more to their friendship, especially with the way Nat looks at Peggy.
Does anyone else think the Scotland Lighthouse is a reference to the SHIELD base from Agents of SHIELD? or just a coincidence… I can’t remember where that shows lighthouse base was located however
The one episode I thought he would pop up just to say I thought it was Mephisto until they ruined the cliffhanger and we got the universe where Q never ended his Robin Hood test and the avengers are Fury and his merry men
Thank you so much for breaking these down during the holidays ! Jessica Clemons you rock !
The Watcher's expression going from calm to confusion gets me every time.
8:16 I thought the Bigfoot reference was sarcasm lol. As in, fury thought it was just a myth or urban legend.
Lmao ths exactly what i thought and commented i thought i was the only one thinking this too😂😂
@11:36. 42 is also the number of the quinjet bucky steals in captain america the winter soldier whens hes moving between the helicarriers (at the 1:45 mark)
Really loved this episode! There is so much cool action in this one! 9/10!
All I wanted for Christmas was Jessica breaking it down ❤🎄🎁
Awesome Video!!! OMG THIS EPISODE WAS AMAZING!!!!!!
I LOVED IT SOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!! My Favorite Episode so far!
As a Huge Captain America Fan, It had everything! The Action was Fantastic,
It was really cool to see the Winter Soldier Era again and also to see The Red Room was
very cool too! And that Cliffhanger was INSANE!!!
The Watcher saying "What The Hell is This?" is just so funny to Me since He did say it before in The Last Season and it felt so odd to hear Him say that and then He says it again here 😂 This Episode Was INCREDIBLE!!!!!! I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIE REST OF THE SEASON!!!!!!
Same the combat and story in this episode was so good
The "88" is also code for "HH" since H is the 8th letter in the alphabet. This is used by modern groups that support the German WW2 leader standing for "Hail Hi..er" or in this case Hail Hydra.
Pretty sure the "88" stands for Hail Hydra (in the real world is stands for hail h*tl*r, cause H is the 8th letter of the alphabet).
I'm so glad someone else made this connection. I've seen a lot of "alien=thor" in the comments but this is the only comment I've seen about the Hail Hydra reference. It's just cool to know I wasn't the only one who spotted it
Why do people censor Hitler? He's not Voldemort
Hulk isn’t on the team because there was no experimental super soldier serum for him to experiment with since no one is in the ice
Great work
I thought the confidence Peggy had in Natasha when Natasha got a boost. It was “you ready?” Instead of “are you sure?”
@9:30. The line about sharing beers with aliens. Probably simply refers to Thor since he is not from our world, he would be considered an alien even though he is a god
I love these watching these analysis shows!
Had so much fun watching this episode.
88 could be a reference to 88mph from Back To The Future, because Peggy went to the future and Steve is something from the past, maybe?
loved it!
Thank you for the video Jessica 🥹
10:28 is a MCU reference where Clint catches the Ultron cradle using the Quintjet
Anytime I see Bucky I get happy.
9:27 Thor. He drank with Thor.
And maybe the Guardians of the Galaxy.
In the MCU, drinking with Thor canonically counts as sharing a beer with an alien.
6:56 the number 88 is also a secret code that stands for hh, since the 8th letter is h. HH stands for Heil H*lter or Heil Hydra in this case.
Great episode
I have been waiting all Day since 130 am I needed this yasss
"Instead of the sexual tension we usually get, instead we get a great friendship." Were we watching the same thing? You can't tell me these two don't have a major vibe doing on 😁.
I was looking for this exact comment 😅😂
They are entirely into each other.
Jess Clem is such a delight on this channel 🙂
Can we just please have Scarlett & Hayley be the best of friends in their own Natasha & Peggy movie please??!!!! It'll be its own universe separate to the sacred timeline, I just so want this movie really bad
There is no sacred timeline anymore
@@navinanase The "616" universe is the "sacred" timeline. It is more accurate to say that the "sacred" timeline is no longer the only timeline in the MCU.
The MCU is still focused on the Sacred Timeline unles its a trick and was changed to a different timeline.
@@tenderjoncy the timeline is there, but it was called "sacred" by the old TVA. It's no longer a single interwoven timeline, it's now a tree of branches. And 616 it's just our main focus, but its no longer one sacred timeline
@@navinanasefor us their still is😂for the TVA they just call it 616 adjacent realm now
11:18 I knew that wasn’t Scarlett but I also knew I recolonized the voice. Thank you for pointing out that she’s Ivy. Now I get it
As a Hungarian, I feel sorry for Natasha😂 and respect
I'm excuse me, if argue that Peggy and Nat have even more sexual tension than Steve and Nat ever did😂😂😂
1000% straight facts. Was waiting for a proposal.
THANK YOU JESSICA!
For me, this was the best one from this season so far.
This is one of my favorite episodes, just for the watcher breaking character, and I want to know more about this universe.
Now the question is, is this Steve going to find his way to Wakanda to be recovered from the Hydrastomper?.....
I’m behind on the episodes this season, but so far, this is my favorite!
I'm pretty sure when Bucky said he shared a beer with an alien, he was talking about Thor
Bucky sayin he’s had beers with aliens could be a reference to Thor, as we know he’s rather fond of beer…
Carter and Widow were giving really close friends, maybe even roommates if you know what I mean
Two superheroes... chilling in the quinjet... five feet apart cause they're not...
I assumed the reference of the shared beer with aliens would be them referring to Thor.
Aliens, plural. It's more likely the skrulls
@@martianunlimited or thor and his buddies. Do you not remember his group came to earth at the end of the first Thor movie?
Best episode so far.
I like how in this episodes the watcher is place where infinity utron first found him ,and crashed through that barrier and the whole still remain.
I’m Super Excited to see Scarlet Witch on the next episode!!!
Wanda-Merlin*. The next episode Wanda-Merlin appears in comes out on December 29th titled "What If... The Avengers were formed in 1602?"
not yet, that episode will release on Dec. 29
9:45 atmospheric gibberish 😂 I love it
I couldn't blink through this episode
Uatu's time healing reminds me of the kintsugi crack effect in some of the Loki sets
This episode was interesting! I did go ain't no way is Steve getting better so fast, I still hope he & Peggy get a good ending. Happy to see Bucky alive! That ending is hilarious, I had a feeling Wanda will interrupt as Olsen was in starting credits
I also love Carter & Natasha's friendship! Like Steve & Nat's heh
Best episode so far and the next episode tomorrowow🔥
This episode was so fun to watch
1:35 I’m surprised to hear anyone say that Peggy & Natasha have less sexual tension than Steve & Natasha. Seemed pretty flirty to me.
In my eyes they had way more chemistry than Steve and Natasha.
Greatest episode ever!
Peggy, Steve, and Bucky all swapped places. One joins the government, one gets brainwashed, one bears the shield.
LETS GO!!! I was waiting for this!
im so excited for 1602!!
I would like to see a What if of Captain America and Captain Carter together.
Love from Belgium 🇧🇪 ❤
In the first Avengers movie they go to Berlin. That's where Steve and Tony first face Loki. I assumed it was a reference to that scene. I assumed the Bigfoot mention was referencing Sasquatch from Alpha Flight.
No. in avengers 2012, steve and tony first face loki in stuttgart, germany. Whereas captain carter went to berlin, germany to captured arnim zola and tesseract
