      Never picks and pops, come off screens for a mid-range shot...just a few things. He often stands at the top of the key, on the wings or beyond the arc and watches when he doesn't have the ball.

    • @bearcatfan1000
      @bearcatfan1000 4 роки тому

      Najee Nixon It absolutely is. Yeah he cuts to the basket but look what it leads to. What truly makes it hard is his ability to do it right on time all well sneaking away the moment the D takes their eyes off him. He’s insane at reading defenses. He’ll get fouled if he doesn’t hit it which is still effective. He doesn’t really NEED to because look at what it produces. Besides who’s going to get in the way of a 6’9 250-260 pound freight train going full speed at the basket? Even if they do it’ll be a foul depending on what they do to stop him so he’d just go to the line and he’s respectable enough where you can’t just hack him. Also what would you say is his most underrated skill because he’s known to be good at everything else

      @@deandrepage1048 Good point, but they could still have run pick and roll with Ball more than they did. Either can pick and either can pass or roll. I blame Walton for not using his players correctly. He could also run give and go with Ingram or Kuzma like he did with Love and they didn't do it much. When they did, it was effective. Lebron played better off the ball with Rondo than anyone else and Rondo was injured for 30+ games.

    I knew he played well off the ball from the Miami years. This continued in Cleveland. This is what I expected in LA but they didn't use him this way. Why not, Luke Walton? Kuzma, Ball, and Ingram can all do the give and go or the pick and roll with LBJ. Now Ball and Ingram are gone.

  • @tchalla7828
    @tchalla7828 7 років тому +2

    LeBron's movement/scoring without the ball has come a long way from his first stint with the Cavs. Playing in MIA with Wade forced him to become better moving and cutting without the ball because that was the first time playing next to another ball dominat player so he had to adjust his game. He does at times still ball watch whenever Kyrie has the ball, so there's still room for improvement. I wish you made one for MJ because he was the king of scoring without the ball

    • @newrecruit100
      @newrecruit100 7 років тому

      T Challa good analysis. I also think that because he isn't a reliable jump shooter that you can't run if off screens. He's great at cutting to the basket but his jump shot holds him back.

      He did a lot in 2015-2017. Kyrie handled the ball at least half the time and Lebron would lurk on the weak side. After Kyrie was gone (and Delly) Lebron was the best ball handler. 2018-2019 was a long struggle to find another point guard.

    When people say "Lebron can't play off ball" what they are really trying to say is that he is not a catch and shoot player. To shoot well from the outside, he's either has to spot up, or shoot off the dribble.
