The 4ride is the better bike, but with e-start nearly double the price of the alp. So the beta for half the price ist a good offer.

@@styrianrider898 appreciate the reply, I currently have a alp 2003 2.0 great bike served me well totally reliable, but had noticed the montesa didn't have an electric start, but looks lighter and more suited to trials and lanes.

I've had several Alps over the years, and now I have the 4ride. Yes, 4ride is slightly better (and lighter). However, maintenance is more difficult: you need to change the oil (oil filter, etc.) more often and to do so you need to open the engine! Both bikes suffer a bit from a lack of power. A good alternative, with more torque, is the beta evo 300 4t, but you have to add a long range kit (seat with tank), which is not very pleasing to the eye :-D
