Scotch It! You scotch gods.
I love when you two say something’s good. Means I need it in my cupboard.
thanks Zachariah!
I just bought a bottle of this today and holy smokes! This is delicious. This and the 21 portwood are my absolute favorites! The best thing was the price. Here in Pine Bluff Arkansas I paid $99 for this and $270 for the 21. Great video 🙌🏼
thats a great price! buy 2 more!
Pineau des Charentes ("Pineau"is pronounced like "Pinot" as in "Pinot Noir" but is unrelated) is a Liqueur made in the Cognac region made with some of the same grapes as Cognac such as Uni Blanc, Columbard, Folle Blanc but also sometimes includes Sémillon, Sauvignon blanc and Montils.
thanks Sniper!!!!
Absolutely mesmerizing, lads!
Thanks David
Love the Balvenie 14🥃
thanks Charles!
I was part of a tasting panel to decide which cask of Loch Lomond to bottle, the cask I liked the best was the cask that was bottled and it was a pineau des charentes cask. They add some really interesting notes of white and green grapes.
agreed!
You've probably already googled the movie you referenced but my guess is "Office Space" when you said Jennifer Anniston talking about her pieces of flair. Loved that movie and loved the review
Flair! thats it! thanks Chris
Sounds like a great expression.
I have some older single barrel 15s bottled in 2010-2011..
But, this is a real banger...
$190 is a bit high since I can get older discontinued killers for less than that ..
But, the higher ABV really makes it attractive...
I want one....
it is a little steep but worth it!
Bart, my wife goes “ why does the guy talking sound like a Seth Rogan/ Jeff garlin hybrid 😂. Now I can’t unhear it. Great review gents! If I find this I will buy!
I’ll have to listen to myself
@@ScotchTestDummies haha gotta do it
Epic stache!
yes it is! thanks Ricardo!
Playing catch up, busy at work but, seen that bottle after watching JD Bottled in Bond review, I'll have to see if Virginia has it, love the Balvenie. This is coming from a Peathead.
this is a good one!
Wow I took a risk after watching this review since it was my first Balvenie ever and this was a very interesting and experimental bottle for me.
I paid $200 after taxes quite high for a 16 year bottle nonetheless when I opened it reminded me of opening a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in the summer it’s quite refreshing. I had a hard time putting it down had like 4-6 drams this stuff is unique and delicious.
Thanks for the review.
And thank you Eric. Great comment and description of the whisky
Lol you know you're in to deep when you're anxious about you guys possibly not liking something I love.
this is fabulous!
This one sounds like a belter, but I want to see the whisk[e]y that curls Curly Bill Jr.'s mustache. Hope you boys' A/C units are working! Cheers!
AC units working good and I think Bart drank all of whatever curled his hairs!
@@ScotchTestDummies 😂
You guys are always spot on describing 👉
Glad you think so!
Very informative review guys. Glad to see you operating out of Bart’s: it’s been a while.
It’s nice to have my basement studio back 🫣
Ive got a bottle right here with me now..
But Im still enjoying the presence of it.. lol.. I think it will be on by shelf for some time..
Glad to hear from you guys about this bottle!!
It’s a great bottle!
Office Space.... a classic
thats it!
Love the Review. I’m enjoying the very same scotch at this moment. I am really curious to what it is you put over your glass between sips? And curious what the purpose is?
Those are Challenge Coins from our show. You can pick one up at scotchtestdummies.com. So purpose could be just a conversation piece but we find it also traps the smells and prevents evaporation…but the evap only matters if you leave a dram for the next night.
@@ScotchTestDummies awesome. Thanks for the info. Drams don’t usually sit overnight around here 😂😂😂. Keep up the great work 💪🏾💪🏾
How heavy is the grapefruit taste? My first scotch or whisky ever was The Balvenie 12. So Balvenie does have a special place in my heart.
That said, I really despise grapefruit. Is this heavy on grapefruit? As of now only way I can get it is online and it will cost 199 plus shipping. So looking at 200 range.
Definitely not heavy on the grapefruit. More of a faint hint coming through from that PDC cask. You may not even get grapefruit, you could get something completely different.
@@ScotchTestDummies cool thank you. I might wait to see more places get it first. So far I had tried of Balvenie
12 double wood
17 double wood
15 single sherry cask
14 Carribean cask
21 Port wood
12 sweet toast to American oak.
I hope to try the dark malt even just a taste sample or some of those Tuns they offer.
Hey Dummies, will there ever be a review of the Dalmore 18?
we may have to pick one up.
Just curious if you guys purchased this with your money or were given the bottle? Balvenie prices have increased past my comfort level in the recent past. Glad I stocked up before they did.
Purchased with our Patreon funds. Thanks Patrons
Only 185 and available. Look at the jump for Macallan 12.
I trust your reviews and would love to get this bottle now, but even the Balvenie 12 Doublewood is $80 by me and $190 for a 16 year old seems exorbitant. I have always enjoyed the Glenlivet 15 French Oak and that is selling for around $80, so I no longer know what to think other than Balvenie seems to be charging premium prices now. How does it this compare?
Fair enough! This is a special finish using that PDC cask which i'm sure adds to the cost. This by memory beats the Glenlivet 15.
The one thing that balvanie always delivered on is picking the right abv to release at.
This is a great bottle
I wish Balvenie 17-year Jamaican Rum Cask was still a thing.
don't remember a 17 year rum cask.
Just looked it up. There was no "Jamaica" in the name. Just "Rum Cask". It was the precursor to Caribbean Cask (which I also enjoy).
U guys recommend getting a six pack while thier in stock?
Sure it’s very good
Beautiful! Teeessstttt iiiittttt
Thank you!!
