Same here man, i just finished watching the game and seeing the achievement afterwards and Kiryu finally using his real name and not an some alias which was given to him brought me nothing except a full waterfall of tears and joy. A trully well deserved ending for the Dragon of Dojima after all these years.
I mean, if he beats cancer, which he probably will since he now has a will to live and the power of friendship on his side, he has a lot of years ahead of him. Just look at Komaki, the man is a living fossil and still kicking ass.

Kiryu becomes the embodiment of old Yakuza, making all their sins and their mistakes his own, and using that image of him to tearfully beg Ebina for forgiveness for every wrong the Yakuza did him, to please allow them this new chance to live and atone; and also begging Ebina to forgive _himself,_ and not throw his life away in this self-destructive revenge against the yakuza. Meanwhile Ichiban reaches out to Eiji, this civilian who did *terrible* things to himself and the people he cared about in the name of revenge against the yakuza for ruining his life, and convinces him to turn himself in, rather than just hiding and waiting for the police, the public, or the yakuza to get to him first. Ichi then carries him to the police _himself,_ taking the brunt of the hate of the public for Eiji with a smile on his face.

Ichiban is the type of person to go above and beyond for people, making sure they get put on the right path despite what they've done, if the person wants to atone and make amends. I look up to characters like him because it shows that not everyone deserves every bad thing that's coming for them. There are plenty of people in this world in which, despite the horrible things they've done, they can still try to set things right, if they allow themselves to want to set things right. The problem is, a bunch of people in this world refuse to let others make amends and atone, and rather see them get hurt or put to death. Infinite Wealth literally displayed that when ichiban was carrying Eiji to the police station, with all the bottles being thrown at the both of them, injuring them and being beaten, and this comment section is no different from that cutscene since I'm seeing some people in the comment section of other Infinite Wealth videos wishing for Eiji to be beaten more. It honestly makes me laugh at how people just refuse to let a person change and are sick and twisted enough to wish and want for them to be beaten and dead. That just makes the majority of society no better and no different then Eiji. I wish more people would be like Ichiban, otherwise, the world would be so much better then it is now if we just all came together to help someone who wants to make change and a difference.

Yeah I think he's going to be more of an advisor to Ichiban. I think Kiryu will live out the rest of his life with his family. I really want to see a crossover with Like A Dragon and Judgement. We did Kaito and Kiryu on screen at the same time in Gaiden, but it would be nice to see Yagami, Ichiban and Kiryu interact with each other.

Look at Komaki dude was old as shit, yet he could beat most people, and he taught Kiryu many of his iconic moves, especially tiger drop. In Y0 Kuze was in his mid-50s yet he kept coming after Kiryu and didn't care what happened to him. In Y6 Hirose was 84 years old and was frequently referred to as the strongest man in Hiroshima. If anything Kiryu could easily be a force to be reckoned with for the next many years if we go by that pattern
Just wanted to say thanks for not putting a description of the ending in the title of your video. Some people do this and completely ruin it for other people, and the youtube algorithm unfortunately pushes those videos to the front page, even for the people looking to avoid being spoiled.
I didn’t care for the ending completely because it wasn’t fulfilling to me personally, but Ichiban carrying Eiji through the streets on his back while the crowd jeers at and attacks him is the peak of his character and one of the greatest moments in the series. It’s a shame the song had to be cut for copyright reasons because that whole scene is truly beautiful. Thank you for uploading
I feel for Nanba though. Guy went to Hawaii to help out Ichiban in what they thought was just finding his mom, they rescue Kiryu from a run down theater, then Nanba has to take Kiryu back to Japan for the rest of the game.
Two of my favorite characters had the same ending in some ways but that doesn't make me sad it makes me happy knowing they will live and die peacefully. But i will miss him so much as i miss Solid Snake

Ebina being able to take on sick Kiryu, Saeko, Seong Hee, Zhao and Namba and still gaining the upper hand is such a fking impressive feat. Hell he may be as strong as guys like Mine or Majima
even while sick kiryu could still output his full strength and then some for a small bit when he crushed the katana with his bare hand(something he couldnt do against shishido which was before he got the cancer) so yeah ebina's a beast for being able to hold out against the party and kiryu using all he has
I sort of interpret the fight as mostly just kiryu vs ebina 1v1, but whenever the cancer gets to him and he starts coughing or whatever the others come in so kiryu can recover
I like to think that after the dynamic intro his party got knocked out and Kiryu proceeded to fight Ebina 1 on 1 but due to Ichiban's schizophrenia being contagious it managed to spread to his party and they were simply imagining that they fought Ebina alongside Kiryu. My headcanon anyway

The original writer left after 6 and 7 is the reintroduction to the series so it is named like the original translation, Like a Dragon.

First the boss fight starts when you play as Majima against Awano Hiroki and Lao gui and finallly The final boss fight is when you play as Kiryu against Shibusawa Keiji. Now in Yakuza 8 the first boss fight is when you control Ichiban's party against Palekana Cult Leader Bryce Fairchild along his cultist and finally the final boss fight is when you play as Kiryu's party against Ebina Masataka Seiryu Clan current chairman.

I imagine the relationship is going to be a lot of Saeko thinking "God he's a idiot, but I love him for it." The only thing that might hurt the chances of it actually happening is if rgg isn't willing to sacrifice the hostess or dating sim stuff...actually y'know what would be cool? if in LaD9, assuming Ichiban is the only protagonist that time around, they still let you go to Hostess clubs but the only hostess you can request is Saeko at her club and the dating sim stuff is replaced with actual dates with her. And if like a dragon 9 has dual protagonist again they can have the regular nightlife stuff be for the secondary protagonist.

Hot take: I don't like how these games discourage grinding. There so many interesting roaming Sujimon and substory sujimon to find and I would feel like a cheater if I were to look for them before the post-game. Why not make the final boss lvl 80 or 90 and make Amon level 99?

To be fair they didn't spend that much time on Ebina's character. I saw him more as an amalgam of everything, that haunted Kiryu. To show the player how much guilt he had bottled up until that point. A plot device forcing Kiryu to face his past and coming to terms with it all in order to keep on living. As for Ichiban, you get closure and a better understanding of his character, and just how far he's willing to go for what he wants to believe in. His whole story seemed like a constant struggle, that challenged his mentality over and over again. After facing it he remained the lovable goof we know him as despite how much he got pushed around.

I sort of interpret the fight as mostly just kiryu vs ebina 1v1, but whenever the cancer gets to him and he starts coughing or whatever the others come in so kiryu can recover
I like to think that after the dynamic intro his party got knocked out and Kiryu proceeded to fight Ebina 1 on 1 but due to Ichiban's schizophrenia being contagious it managed to spread to his party and they were simply imagining that they fought Ebina alongside Kiryu. My headcanon anyway
He is Arakawa's son after all. Pretty much Ichiban if he took his fights seriously

And it's very similliar to Yakuza 0 boss fight. First the boss fight starts when you play as Majima against Awano Hiroki and Lao gui and finallly The final boss fight is when you play as Kiryu against Shibusawa Keiji. Now in Yakuza 8 the first boss fight is when you control Ichiban's party against Palekana Cult Leader Bryce Fairchild along his cultist and finally the final boss fight is when you play as Kiryu's party against Ebina Masataka Seiryu Clan current chairman.

@@kartikayysola nah, it's a for sure thing now. obviously he messed up at the end with the shirt but that's not nearly as bad as the first date proposal without ever saying "I love you"before. I imagine the relationship is going to be a lot of Saeko thinking "God he's a idiot, but I love him for it."
The only thing that might hurt the chances of it actually happening is if rgg isn't willing to sacrifice the hostess or dating sim stuff...actually y'know what would be cool? if in LaD9, assuming Ichiban is the only protagonist that time around, they still let you go to Hostess clubs but the only hostess you can request is Saeko at her club and the dating sim stuff is replaced with actual dates with her. And if like a dragon 9 has dual protagonist again they can have the regular nightlife stuff be for the secondary protagonist.

I don't like how these games discourage grinding. There so many interesting roaming Sujimon and substory sujimon to find and I would feel like a cheater if I were to look for them before the post-game. Why not make the final boss lvl 80 or 90 and make Amon level 99?

@shinobirecords2018 I was thinking the same thing because the last game where you played as ichiban going against his brother, Masuto arakawa.
To be fair they didn't spend that much time on Ebina's character. I saw him more as an amalgam of everything, that haunted Kiryu. To show the player how much guilt he had bottled up until that point. A plot device forcing Kiryu to face his past and coming to terms with it all in order to keep on living.
As for Ichiban, you get closure and a better understanding of his character, and just how far he's willing to go for what he wants to believe in. His whole story seemed like a constant struggle, that challenged his mentality over and over again. After facing it he remained the lovable goof we know him as despite how much he got pushed around.
