Wish you would slow down the F7 picking like you did for the C. This is beginner to intermediate so please break all parts down, and move a bit more slowly on the first time playing it. ;) love these blues videos!
un grand merci pour cette belle video.et extra merci pour votre parfaite methode. j ai toujours voulu apprendre un blues. grace a vous j en ai maintenant un tres beau. vous etes formidable maitre
Great song! I am singing the bluuuuueeees! A little difficult to follow though, it would have helped to see the chords while you play them. But after 99 views I figured it out. Thanks!! Jamming now!
After trying for years to learn the Ukelele I came across Arthurs Uke Blog and this appears to be the top online system (google it if you're interested)
hey john, first of all: im a german pupil, sorry for my english im bad in this language. Ive one question: I got a blues ukulele (from Gretsch) i would be very happy if i could start with playin on the uke but is it right that i have to change the sound if i dont want to play a blues? i love blues but because im starting to learn i think it would be easier if there are other possibilitys. Thank you for your answer love ur videos so much! love the sound of a uke etc. :D
+monse You don't need to change the tuning. I am using standard tuning G.C.E.A. You can drop the G string down an octave, but you would have to use a thicker wound string. Thanks and have fun!
When I strum, I’m strumming all 4 strings. If I’m strumming down and up I usually only get 2 or 3 strings on the upstroke. As long as you play the lick correctly, you can strum 3 or 4 strings, it won’t matter. Thanks for watching!
As I understand it, F7 has the notes F A D# Where as the D7 chord shape you describe has the notes of F C D# However these are the notes for the F7sus4 chord, and are not the notes of F7. The same thing with your description of the G7 chord shape. The notes being G B D F#, but the notes from your chord shape description are GDF, which are the notes of A#6. Am I missing something here? Other wise this is a nice easy Blues in C with riff tutorial.
Thanks for your feedback. The F7 ( F,C,D#) is an F7 . F is the root, C is the 5th and D# is the Dominant 7. If it was a sus 4, it would need a Bb. G7 ( G,D,F) the G is the root D is the 5th and F is the dominant 7. These inversions don’t have a 3rd, so they can be confused with other chords. If you listen, you will hear that they work. Enjoy that ukulele!
Yes, the F7 is usually played as you indicated. For this video I’m using a different fingering, it is actually called an F9, but can be used instead of the F7. I’m doing it because I like the sound better. You can use the regular F7 and D7 if you want and put the riff in. Hope this answers your question.
If you play In c with the order of f7 g7 and c with an added suspended if you want to add that little spice and it would be the song by the Beatles called no reply
I hate correcting people who are clearly smart than me and have more experience. Having said that... THE CHORDS: I can't emphasize enough how beautiful this chord progression is ❤, but it is not C, F7, G7. The chords you are playing are C, Fsus4, Gsus4, but I still LOVE it! THE SCALE: Yours: C, Bb, G, F, E, D Actual: C, A, G, E, Eb, D This is the scale that matches your sus4 chords: C, Bb, G, F, Eb, D (if nothing else, you need an Eb to make a C Major and your scale lacks it). Thank you for forcing me to understand music theory a little better. 😀
Now I am rethinking the Fsus4 and Gsus4, but your F7 and G7 don't line up with what any version I can find. However your F7 still sounds like an Fsus4. Which makes no sense to me. I still contend the chords, lick, and turnaround sound great! ❤
Not quite sure what you mean, but here is the chord progression: /C7/C7/C7/C7/ /F7/ F7/ C7/C7/ /G7/F7/C7/G7/ The little riff or lick is played instead of the chords on measures 1,3,5&7. The turnaround is played instead of the last 2 measures. Hope this is helpful.
The first lick I play is a C blues scale. The lick I play is made up out of notes in that scale but not all of them. You can make up a zillion licks from that scale, go for it!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I like the way you teach. Cheers!
Awesome! Thank you, I feel like a baby taking my first steps to the blues and you made it so easy!
Thanks, keep taking those baby steps. You
know what happens to babys who keep stepping.... they walk and then run!
Thank you for this video! Makes the ukelele so much more fun to learn when I have these blues tunes to learn instead of the usual major keys
This is so far my favourite thing to play on the uke! Thank you for an awesome tutorial!
Thanks for tuning in, glad to have you aboard.

Practice practice!

Thankyou sir! My ukulele never sound this good
You’re welcome. You are the one making it sound good!
I love this so much but can’t figure out the g7 chord. When I look it up their are varied opinions.
The G7 I’m using is 0535 G string to A string.
Thank´s a lot !!!
nice
Thank you
I just impressed my wife. Thankyou
Happy wife, happy life. 😉
lil bit confuse but thank you so much sir ✌️
Awesome lesson. Learned it pretty fast and played it on my Koaloha. Is that a Martin Soprano Uke? Sounds GREAT.
Yes, it is a Martin S-1. Thanks.
MARKLINMAN1 It has not fretboard markers, so I believe it is a model S-0. The S-1 has the fretboard markers...
thanks for this!
👍

Hi, really interesting sound.. quite articulate. What strings do you use?
GHS with a wound C string. Can’t find the set anymore so I’m milking these. Glad you enjoyed the video.
I wish you would explain the strumming a little more, are you strumming all 4 strings, or only three? I’m very confused.
When I strum, I’m strumming all 4 strings. If I’m strumming down and up I usually only get 2 or 3 strings on the upstroke. As long as you play the lick correctly, you can strum 3 or 4 strings, it won’t matter. Thanks for watching!

One more thing. I mentioned D7 by mistake and corrected myself. I wanted to show a G7. Sorry for the confusion.
im confused by your f7? on all the chord sheets i look at its 4th string 2nd fret, 3rd string 3rd fret, 2nd string 1st fret, am i
missing something???

You are a great teacher. I can do this; thanks- a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck!

What is the chord at 6.17 ? I cant get it
It is a G7 chord. 5350 ( A string to G string)
Oops, it is a G7 but it is 0535 ( G string to A string)
Had it turned around in my first reply, sorry.
Is that an old Martin Uke?
Nope it’s a 10 year old Martin use. An S-1
Mate ....... are those rubber bands for strings?
Rubber strings
John Curtis oh
I just want the order of the song pls
Not quite sure what you mean, but here is the chord progression:
/C7/C7/C7/C7/
/F7/ F7/ C7/C7/
/G7/F7/C7/G7/
The little riff or lick is played instead of the chords on measures 1,3,5&7.
The turnaround is played instead of the last 2 measures.
Hope this is helpful.
Can you remind me of the chords that are used🥺🥺🥺
/C/C/C/C/
/F7/F7/C/C/
/G7/F7/C/G7/. Check video for fingerings, thanks
The first lick seemed different toe then the one you played later on 🤔 maybe I missed something
To me*

@@jcurtis30water ok thanks
I didn't even know that martin made ukes
They did for many years. Due to lack of demand they stopped, I think in the 70s, but resumed in the early 2000s.
I suggest you show us what u are teaching us first - just a suggestion - no hate👍
Yes, I’ve been doing just that of late. As they say, “ shut up and play”
👍👍
Not properly explained, Sir if you can please explain it though I would to learn the great piece ! :)
All was going fine until you used that strange G7 chord. I''ll look elsewhere. T
Sorry Terry. You can , of course, use any G7 you want. Just like to introduce new sounds to players.
