It's so bizarre to see two volumes of Assist Trophies released in the same month (btw thanks for the shoutouts in the description), and these 15 lads were indeed really good! Honestly I have no idea which one I could consider to be my favorite, although seeing Aradia, Goat Mom and Colin really made me smile. You also went extra creative with some of these like Brody being able to change stages on the fly, Speedwagon staying on stage to comment the fight besides using his hat, the clone machine was really cool and so was Pliskin having different effects he can switch between with the different incarnations of his game. But I say that my favorites were easily the Dover Boys (having the triple punch scene with the fuckin slow mo effect and the explosion in the background made me lose my shit) and MY CABBAGES! Aaaaaa and both alts for appearence and voice for the assists! I never would have guessed something like that but it's so Awesome! You did a big good with this one, and it was definitely worth the weight and on par with the already very cool vids we've gotten from Beatdown as of late.
I love how in the cutscenes for these video, each character talks the way they talk in their source material (subtitled, text box, chat bubble, etc). I'm also SUPER glad there's voice options for this! I always prefer my everything to be in a language I can follow. Great video! I can tell a lot of work went into it. Can't wait for PBG!
First comes Nova's set of new Assist Trophies, and now Beatdown presents its set for a grand double decker of Assist Trophy showcases. The Dover Boys were my favorite choice with both the way various scenes from the short (the unicycles and triple punch) were implemented, as well as the effects (like the KO background) shown during the attack. In addition, Chris Hansen was the most unexpected yet unique choice of the bunch here with him indirectly affecting an opponent by interrogating them rather than simply attacking them (and who better than Mrs. Mavilda to be the first fighter interrogated by Hansen?). I'm also interested in the voice alts given to some characters like Speedwagon, which can provide some more great opportunities.
WOOOOOOOOOO, ASSIST TROPHIES! Post-video edit: amazing as always, ShadBad! These Assist Trophies are wonderful! Especially Chica, because you can never go wrong with an adorable dog. I’m super-excited for Echo Fighters!
It is the most clear just how much time, care and passion went into creating this Assist Trophy showcase. Pretty much everyone who’s seen it can agree, the wait plus 3 videos that came before, all of which were already spectacular in quality, to what’ll surely go down as one of the biggest Lawl events of the year. Of course, the more than outstanding AT video put out by Skapokon made this day as a Lawl fan ever so sweet (thanks so much for crediting her, man : D). So because of the near release dates, I’d also really love to do a top 10 type of comment here. First the honorable mentions. Of course everyone in this presentation gave a marvelous performance, the following are who I especially wanted to mention. What was already human’s best friend is now a Beatdown fighter’s incredible companion, Chica was such a fun addition to the group. No matter if she’s gotta sail the seas on a totally legit boat, or haunt the air as a spook, she’ll def come in handy in getting extra hits in, though it was a little surreal to see well, what initially looks like a regular doggo on the battlefield. Speaking of what initially seems normal, Colin is also an incredible n’ solid trophy. The presentation really aiding with both that gorgeous stage design, the miniature paper planes that serve as heads up, and the lad n’ his friend departing afterwards was so cool n’ chill. The complete opposite of chill being Strong Mad, who’s massive size and damage output lead to one imposing trophy. Although the ability to stand on him just goes to show his dopey nature. 10. Dr Andonuts Talk about a complete and total surprise, I would not have expected representation of the Earthbound Halloween Hack. Then again, with Undertale playing a major role in Beatdown, the connection makes sense and is just a great addition. That and I just personally dig it when cute, sprite based chars just get real fucking crass. Also holy shit is PSI Bitchkill one damn, brutal way to kick some shit eaters teeth in real effectively. 9. Toriel Speaking of eating and Undertale, way to properly represent the sweet, defensive nature of this goat mother. I just simply adore how you handled her spriting, with the way she throws fireballs out plus leaving behind a sweet treat feeling akin to actual Smash trophies. 8. Cabbage Merchant On a not so sweet note, well, that is if you’re not a big nostalgic, good old MY CABBAGES was an astonishing surprise character, and still is really (also, topnotch extra detail of having the merchant’s trophy come from Bub’s stand). A perfectly funny addition, although it does make me wonder. Usually there’s a connection too either Beatdown’s theme or the characters in it with these trophies, but what could the merchant’s be? *thinks* 7. The Evil Director Ah well, for now, I’mma focusing on something Beatdown has nailed at this point: recreation of the source material in a faithful manner in Smash. This is especially the case with the four, or well, what once were, four friends, getting cloned and having said clones walk around aimless. Way to not only, truly show off a taste of Eddsworld’s comedy, but to also display all four of the guy’s walk cycles in a practical manner. 6. Aradia The faithful recreation of material is at it again, except this time around, Aradia’s purpose and means of aiding her fellow fighters reflects exceptionally well here. That and honestly, having a char who’s main power allows for great damage rack up like Witch Time legit looks so rad to have on the battlefield. Plus I’m oh so curious to know how her time freezing ability compares to *his* 5. Adrian Brody Would honestly win the award for most Beatdown-ish trophy possible if it wasn’t for well, the actual number 1 on this overly long list. Reflecting a whole lot of what makes the spinoff for admirable and striking out from the crowd. It’s ability to expand and go upon the viewers expectations, the tongue in cheek yet oftentimes emotional tone to it, and a genuine sense of fun and passion at play here. Neil Cicierga is clearly a massive inspiration to you, dude, and like the sun and other stars in the sky, your homage shines ever so bright. Also um, this was a pretty rad Assist, that nailed the travel in Brodyquest through clever stage transition. 4. Chris Hansen I know it’s not the most decent to compare Lawls these days as each spin off can genuinely stand on their own, but I’m greatly sorry. It is unbelievably weird that Chincherrinas himself did not use the legend of Dateline NBC in Lawl Original. Regardless, Hansen easily made for one of the most memorable, hilarious parts to Assist Trophies Volume 1, thanks to some superb choice in dialogue (namely the swim trunks line on the pool stage). 3. Dover Boys Hark! Now for what is easily the most visually impressive Assist Trophy, especially fitting with Backslide still being one of your most well animated movesets. The speed, flashiness, and impact was worked in to sheer, simple perfection. To say these Dover Boys reek of PU on the battlefield would be a misspent of life. 2. Speedwagon Okay so like… yeah, this one in particular is rather biased. For all the time given to him in lore, his role as head of Assists, and the extraordinary option to have him go out with English dubbing (Something that hit my nostalgia REAL hard ever since Phantom Blood aired on Toonami) I just had to give Robert his spot here. Plus with his sharp hat and even sharper commentary, the Speedwagon Foundation’s founder would be an insanely fun addition to any match. 1. Pliskin The very point or purpose of an Assist Trophy is to represent a given character who although is popular, does not have enough material to warrant a full moveset. You man, you pushed that envelope to a near breaking point with what is quite possibly, the most Beatdown thing to come out in a loooong time. The online nostalgia, the bold, fresh new idea of giving an Assist stages in their run onstage, the faithfulness to source (3 seconds can feel like 3 years with an AT as useful as Pliskin by your side :3). It took a good long while to figure out this list, but somewhere after the 3rd viewing, It dawned on me who should take the number 1 spot. Like this nostalgic game series, I truly hope your spinoff continues to grow, learn, and improve, all while fondly remembering the past and what Beatdown’s foundation is built on. Thank you for always willing to go the next step, to strive for and achieve greatness with these truly terrific character interactions + ever growing storytelling, and for just, well, being a cool, rad person (and awesome friend) to follow.
WOW THIS WAS AMAZING! From the animation in the intro and outro, the standard attacks and the assist trophies themselves! Every assist trophy was unique and made me smile in their own way. I would say who my favourites were but spoilers for those who haven't seen the video. Stellar job there Shad looking forward to Echo Fighters! :)
Two assist trophy videos by two of the best lawlers in one week!? Sweet!!! Anyways, I really enjoyed this video. I loved pretty much all of them. My personal favourites were Speedwagon, The Evil Director, Chica, Toriel, The Dover Boys, Adrian Brody, Chris Hansen and The Cabbage Merchant (hope Aang gets in by the way). Can't wait for the Echo Fighters especially since I think I know who that mysterious character at the end is. Anyways see you then.
Loved the assists! Can’t wait for echos! The ones I loved most had to be Chica, Toriel, and Dr. Andonauts. Chica is probably one of the most basic assist trophies I’ve ever seen, but I love the simple humor of Boat Dog and Ghost Dog. Toriel seems to really fit as an assist rather than a playable character and was executed amazingly. Dr. Andonauts was a nice call back to Earthbound: HH and fit well! Keep up the amazing animations!
Pretty unexpecting that Two Fantastic Assist Trophy Videos would be released within nearly a whole day. But Seriously, this video was just really really amazing to see, and was definitely worth the long wait (although during that wait, 3 Movesets were released and they were all Fantastic as well). I honestly can't pick which of these Assists that I can pick as a Personal favorite, but if I had pick a few, Andonuts, the Evil Director, Voldemort, Speedwagon, Pilkstin, and Adrien Brody are definitely up there. Best of Luck on the Echo Fighters Shad!
I hope we see more of assist trophy shenanigans, if only for some aradia appearences. Chica's made me laugh the most, and the Dover Boy's were just in general really well animated and my overall favorite. Since Avatar is in here now, I think it would be cool if Aang, Toph or even Zuko became actual fighters, but obviously that's your prerogative. Great job!.
Barely recognized anyone yet I clearly lawled at Strong Mad, Evil Director, Adrian Brody, the Cabbage guy (assuming he's a side character) and those damn Dover Boys! Funny to have this shortly after another set of Nova ones, huh?
Wow This is pretty good! My Main Assist trophy recommendations and favorites are Dr Andonuts (My MOST favorite),Evil Director (Second Favorite because his Attacks are fuckin hilarious 😂) and Lastly Strong Mad (Sweet Mother Of god this guy is OP but he’s My 3rd kinda sorta 1st Favorite Assist Trophy Luckily dodging him is simple though)
I always thought the Joestar birthmark would be the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series icon. I'll admit, the stone mask is a MUCH better choice. I would've never thought of that.
I've got to admit switching from boat dog to ghost dog during the inspiration clips would actually make a great song.and by that I mean Going from boat dog to ghost dog.
Huge missed opportunity for brother Graw Mad's alt costume to be Killingyouguy. Favorite assist trophy was either Adrian Brody, Speedwagon, Chica, Chris Hansen or the Cabbage Merchant. I hope Aang gets in. (And also DIO, but that's obvious at this point.
Why would you not escape from Chrish Hansen? You get less damage overall and you escape faster. Also, can your opponent damage you while you're sitting down?
Is vriska gonna go on a treasure hunt to get that money back to try and repair their reputation or join tord and whoever that other guy is (im low on anime) also n o t e n o u g h k a r k a t Edit: lore wise not enough karkat
The what was so worth it. Also I was thinking of a new character that be perfect in your smash this is the character oddshow sonic from sonic oddshow. Please tell me if you like it or not. And have a good day.

3:40 it was at this moment that I expelled every molecule of air from my lungs in laughter and died
I love how in the cutscenes for these video, each character talks the way they talk in their source material (subtitled, text box, chat bubble, etc). I'm also SUPER glad there's voice options for this! I always prefer my everything to be in a language I can follow.

This is proving to become an amazing crossover. Will we ever get a Subspace Emissary/World of Light for Lawl Beatdown?
I'd like to see the lore regarding Dio.

I watched this before I watched JoJo. Now that I have watched it Speedwagon being in this feels amazing
Tom's face in the Dover Boys attack was kinda like a robot face.
It was mildly funny.
thankfully chica is magic, that boat can float in the air
I always thought the Joestar birthmark would be the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series icon.
I'll admit, the stone mask is a MUCH better choice. I would've never thought of that.
Even your assists have alts, that's dedication.
chris hansen

*Yeesh Edd. Never knew the pervy side of you (edds perspective)*
I've got to admit switching from boat dog to ghost dog during the inspiration clips would actually make a great song.and by that I mean Going from boat dog to ghost dog.
NICE! Finally its out.
My favorites are Aradia and the Evil Director!
I’m now waiting for Jonathan joestar to enter lawl as a fighter you can’t have speedwagon without a joestar
I'm a simple man. I see Speedwagon, I click.
My personal favorites are speedwagon, Toriel, the cabbage merchant, and aradia
My favorite is Chica, nuff said.
Let’s hope that Homsar is Homestar Runner’s echo fighter.
Even Speedwagon is in lawl!
Evil director is my favorite due to
eddsworld series and
how good it looks as in gameplay
Did I just see Ozpin???
Chris and Speedwagon were my favorites.
AAHHH ARADIA AND THE EVIL DIRECTOR(BING) ARE MY FAVES!!! AAA AAAA
MY CABBAGES!
Adrien Brody A-drien Bro-dy
Is that Ozpin from rwby at 13:35?
5:24 So is this the OHKO or the great knockback and damage?
chica was The star of The show
It took awhile lol, but the video’s pretty good
Why would you not escape from Chrish Hansen? You get less damage overall and you escape faster. Also, can your opponent damage you while you're sitting down?
I'm only here because SPEEDWAGON
Why is the psycho dad's stamina in on the left??????
Pb gamer is in lawl as a playable
I think adding paul and patryck as an assit trophy
Is that joker at the table?
I find it weird that when i get into a show for some reason the characters from that show appear in other videos like our lord and savior Speedwagon
why would you want to be a person forced to have one attack
So I have a question why did I hear ruhdol von striomiet or how ever you say his name in the outro?
I clicked because of speedwagon
How did you make this.
Did you give hansen a stand?
Dont post that Dr.Andonuts in your game. Or atleast somebody will read swear words xD
I want to vote jevil from deltarune on super smash bros lawl beatdown
I wonder what happens
Ozpin?!
how do you even make these videos?
Osbin?
Shad?
13:38 OZPIN????
Is that you talking to Speedwagon and the others?
No, that was Ozpin from RWBY.
Nice assist trophies! Maybe you should nerf the damage a little however...
2:38 IS THAT MEGALOVANIA FROM UNDERTALE?
Is the game?
you should make this a real game :D
Hey, MY Lawl (Project L) will have alt costumes for the Assist Trophies as well.

if you do a new Empty slot, i'll choose nomad of nowhere
The what was so worth it. Also I was thinking of a new character that be perfect in your smash this is the character oddshow sonic from sonic oddshow. Please tell me if you like it or not. And have a good day.
...dude he's probably got enough characters, including hidden ones, and he's probably not taking suggestions.
It's worth a try right?
@@afterlifeMonicaIruma-9021 not really. almost no lawlers take character suggestions.
And not enough do to justify asking every big Lawler to do some random character.
@@stativolt he does take suggestions, some of the suggestions he took made it to his Empty Slot.
