  • Fluke i410 - how to measure AC amp current with Fluke 87v multimeter
in this video I'm going to show how to measure ac current with the Fluke i410 AC/DC current clamp
so far i couldn't find any video which will cover this topic for this specific model in combination with the Fluke 87v multimeter
so i hope someone will find this video useful
English is not my first language and I'm not a video producer professional so please forgive me for the quality of the video or any other criticism you may have for me.

Does my Fluke i410 measure inrush amps? I am using an 87-V meter set on high resolution

Unfortunately i do not believe the i410 is capable of or reliable for inrush current measurement..
The 87v also lacks the option for inrush current measurement.
I usually just use my Fieldpiece SC680 for that.

I have the 87v and was thinking of grabbing the i410 but they are expensive and old. Today I see alot of new clamp meters on the market that are not as pricey. Do you think the fluke i410 is better? Or should I just save my money and grab a clamp meter that does not have to added to my 87v

Honestly the Chinese clamp amp meters work as good as Fluke for the friction of the price.. Fluke is known for their reliability and reputation.. if you want to pay extra money for reputation go ahead and buy Fluke.
I personally got few Chinese multimeter and they work great and i take them with me without worrying too much if lost or dropping it.. they so cheap i can just buy new one.
The fluke is what i keep at home for my small electronics hobby lab. And sometimes I'll use it together with another multimeter if i want to verify accuracy or if need to measure two points in the same time
I also have oscilloscope and it works even better!

Hello, I have a question, I noticed that when my clampmeter i410 is turned off, the battery voltage appears at the terminals is about 9v but after turning it on it returns to ok is it a problem with my clamp meter or everyone has it
    Thanks

Yes it's normal.. when i410 is off, the 9v installed battery will go directly to the leads.
As soon as it's turned-on, it will direct the battery voltage to power the unit, so the leads not gonna have any voltage no more.
This was tested on my i410 to verify it.
In some way.. i found it useful.. i can check the internal battery voltage (capacity) without taking it out.
