7dayspking Nope... Just learned this on guitar and I gotta say this is one of the most technical thrash metal songs ever written! So many misterious notes in that solo. This is the kind of song a band can only write when they're very pissed off.
Other technical thrash bands sound similar to each other, this whole album is in a metal genre of its own.
Jeremiah A So the only thing special about this song is the solo is what I'm getting from you hahah. This is no more technical than half of Forbidden's mid 80s material and nowhere near as technical as bands like Coroner.
By the way, what is up with google+ and youtube. I can't use your google+ to find your youtube and I can't seem to look at people's tabs on youtube (like videos, feed...etc.etc.)
I wanted to look at your channel for some tech Thrash covers as a lot of youtubers tend not to cover them...or cover a few tech thrash songs and a bunch of Pantera and LOG songs.
7dayspking I was talking about the whole song and I mentioned the solo because I found the odd choice of notes to be interesting. And I like Coroner, but they haven't gotten my attention as much as bands like Cacophony or Megadeth have. I'm a fan of both technique and well thought out melodies.

Jeremiah A Ahh, fair enough. I only stated Coroner's music is more technical...not that you'd like them better. I wouldn't group Cacophony with Megadeth...Cacophony are a speed metal band...very melodic, lots of galloping riffs...etc.etc....Megadeth are a Thrash band. Sort of like grouping Nocturnus with Slayer or something. Also Cacophony has two main virtuoso guitarists instead of the one, tends to have much more extended and demanding solos and hasn't released nearly as much material (obviously because of Becker's condition.)
This still has one of the craziest guitar riffs ever recorded in a thrash song.

Yeah. I imagine a flow of some army of what have you. Mostly an army of ghouls or orcs if you're a wc3 or mtg nerd like me. But also I see the basis of this song as being in the perspective of being the person running away.

Fuck I thought the Remastered version of this song was awesome... and it still is because the song is just that good. But everything about this version is way better! These original vocals are great. The raw sound is incredible.

you know I went back to my job today after three weeks of vacation. I´m a cleaner and I worked for about 6 and a half hours....normally it makes me exhausted but in thye morning I put on a megadeth greatest hits album and the songs kept me going for the rest of the day.. this was one of the songs I sang the most today and when i got home I wasn´t tired in the least!!! I wanna thank you megadeth for making such awesome and fastpaced music!!

I always found this song can be played on repeat 50 times+ and not get dull. At all. I really struggle to say that about ANY other song. Amazing. And the lyrics are almost hypnotic. Killing rampage ahoy!
After hearing the rumor of Dave's vocal tracks getting lost, i compared both TNP and Lucretia. TNP was harder, but you could really tell a difference from the original and remastered version. The instruments are more raw in the original. I, personally, like the original better, but the remastered will do.
Agreed! I personally prefer the original. Dave's voice sounds better, and the bass tapping section is louder and more defined in the original.

i think the coolest part of this song is that badass mini bass solo at 1:36. That is some of the coolest bass i've heard in a while because most bass i've heard was fast strumming but this one actually had some cool hammer ons and pull offs.
