@@Puneet-t8kIt is a trade off. I have chronic illness that can have difficult moments. Living alone, but having friends and resources for times when help is needed can create a safety net for rough times. Ive recently realized that I need to put effort into creating these additional connections into my life so that I have somewhere to turn when I need help or comfort.
My wife died 7 years ago. I'm living alone now, and I'm quite happy with my present life. Nearing retirement age, very healthy and physically active. Strength training 2 times a week, biking daily, surfing and sailing. Meditate and do Yoga assanas. Travel often, usually wih my van, going surfing. Read, draw, paint. Make my own surf boards and small boats. Messing around with an old- timer car. I have a grown up son. We see each other often, have a very good relations. I have good friends, couple of them life long. Financially, I'm very far from being rich, but I would say, comfortable. No debt, moderate savings. Enough to buy a moderate sailing boat in the couple of years and go ocean sailing, long lasting dream of mine. I don't feel lonly. I'm fine. But I think it depends very much on your age. I wouldn't recomend solitary existence to the young. Go, taste the life first. Try different things. Meet the opposite sex. Have relationships. Love, feel the bliss. Suffer from betrayal and heart brake. Have children. These are all parts of life experience. Do all of that first. You can then enjoy your solitude, if you want to, with fewer regrets.
I'm 65 and I've lived alone almost all my life because I have an attachment disorder from childhood trauma. I love living alone and I love the strength of my independence but eating dinner alone every night for the last 25 or 30 years is wearing me down. All I can see is the rest of my life eating dinner alone. It's all there ever was and it's all there ever is going to be. It's a curse and a blessing
Is that your little dog in the picture? I'm 61 and live with my 3 little dogs so not completely alone. My dinner time is eating something I really fancy and putting a good film or whatever on and watching that with my meal then comes desert 🥳, make it about all the things you want and not just dinner time , then it won't feel so lonely for you hopefully 💐
Do you cook for yourself? Honestly I love cooking & being able to enjoy my food that I want. Turn on some interesting, soothing music or jazz. Some type of music or writing, reading, change your atmosphere a little.

I have not felt the touch of another woman or shared a meal with anyone in nearly 5 years. My neighbors no doubt think I’m crazy.
