    Thanks for sharing your insight. Your video answered questions ive had for years that no one could explain or demostrate, especially the info on half hitting. Cheers

    One of the best simple distance videos I've ever seen!

    I geek out on this all the time. Never quite clicks for me, but it's starting to work better than it was when I was trying to sift through old DGReview posts. I've been out in the field more this year than I have in a while and I'd like to think things are working better. If anything, accuracy and consistent distance are improving, even if my max distance hasn't changed.
    Re: wind - Being partially deaf in my left ear and using earbuds, I don't notice the wind quite as much. So, if listeners can manipulate the balance of their audio output so that it favors the left channel, that should take care of the wind issue on this video.

    Really wish I could hear this. Not being negative, you can't control the wind, but a cheap wired clip mic would rock for this. Thank you regardless, what I could hear was golden.

    As always, I really enjoy your videos! I look forward to your new microphone, since my phone has notoriously low volume, and I rarely have headphones or a bluetooth speaker handy.
    I also REALLY look forward to re-watching all your training videos if you ever decide to remake them. If I didn't live so far away, I'd offer to film for you.

    Re-posted on G+! Thanks for all your work. Not to critique, but on days like the one you shot this on, you might want to think about recording your audio separately, not just because of wind but also due to the moments when you are either moving away from the camera or speaking facing away from the camera. Loved this core of the "hit" in general, a good balance work out that one can practice ANYWHERE, without a disc or course.

      Agree on the wind. I have an idea that I've been working on to try to up the production value and do a series that covers all the segments in a way that can be worked through... just need the time!

    Been playing for a year and never really understood the Dan Beto video but I could tell it was the truth. I ve been at 270 or so for about 8 months. Watched your stuff and now I m hitting about 300 from a stand still in one session, Hooray for you.

    tensor! don't see many people throwing that one. I picked up a deflector but its a bit too beefy to be much use when I've got the resistor for that. bought to put that tensor back in my bag!

    Do you have a video of incorperating a standstill into a run up. I still have to work on a stand still (Its slowly getting better, Timing is still off) But I try to do a slow run up with distance drivers and i have a hard time with the the weight and hip shift in the run up.

    Nice vid! Regarding the grip, I've heard that hooking the index finger under the rim will lead to grip locks, and instead to place it on the underside of the rim (but not hooked).

    • @augustprice7550
      @augustprice7550 2 роки тому

      No such thing as grip lock, only poor timing. You wanna know how the big arms throw 600+ feet, its basically a controlled grip lock.

    I don't feel like I understand "the 4-o-clock". Would 6:00 be when your elbow is supposed to be completely straight? So I should be holding the disc still at 4:00 and it should release at 6:00?

      It took me a while to understand it... and I thought this video made no sense at all lol...but once I understood the diagram, I watched the video again and it all made a lot more sense. I've been doing field work for 2 months trying to figure out how to throw straight and get an s-curve and had been failing until I applied what you talk about in the video. Thanks a lot. I feel like this puts a few steps together that aren't quite explained properly in a lot of other training videos I've watched. The part about pinching the hooked pointer finger seems to be a game changer for me.

    Hey there so going back to your older videos, how do you feel about these or the right pec drills. Are you still thinking these are all valid with what you know now?

    • @loopghost
      @loopghost Рік тому +1

      I think that the right pec drill is probably fine, but only if you're really struggling with opening the shoulders too early. I teach more about making a lateral move that de-weights the back foot. I find that throwing from any static position makes people compensate by doing bad things. Lots of stuff in this video is still valid though, especially throwing nose down and verifying that you're not blowing off the disc early.

      @@loopghost judging by some slow mo videos ive seen i move my shoulders too soon so these have helped. but i feel like no one teaches these anymore so was wondering your thoughts.

  • @canttellmenothin
    @canttellmenothin 6 років тому

    Snap? No, actually snap is referring to the whipping motion that is created when the energy is transferred smoothly from feet to hips to core to shoulders and eventually to the disc. Every aspect of a perfect throw creates a multiplying affect from the beginning to the end like a whip... so if you have snap that means your generating the energy properly and smoothly and keeping the disc close to body and unwinding like a whip so at the end of your throw or rip out moment the disc snaps theoretically not literally...

    No idea what you said half the time. Don't turn you head from the mic while talking, especially with all the wind noise.
