Puyol was simply the best defender i've ever seen, his strength and braveness was what made him a real legend, even though , as he said, he didn't have a good technique or skills but as you can see , whenever he tried to do some kind of trick he managed to do it, because he had that confidence that no money can buy it... Talking about attacking, if we talk about defense... There is nothing to say, nobody can even compare to this beast ... I'm a big Real madrid fan and everytime real madrid was playing against Barcelona and puyol was in their squad i knew it was almost impossible to score one goal, and if you see the statistics, those years Barcelona always had beaten Real madird, after he retired things has changed. To sum up, we 've seen a trully legend in Puyol and I think it's going to be extremely hard to see a player like him again.

Puyol didn't play for money, he played for his teammates, and for the sake of football itself. We miss this beast, the captain, the leader of the team, the man who did not give up. Barcelona legends Puyol Iniesta, Xavi are no longer here. Messi is running out of strength he can't play for the whole team. Piqe and Buscets have not been Barca's level for a long time. I miss the 2010 team.

chanchito waton Don't get me wrong. Puyol is a great defender imo he is almost up there with Maldini and Nesta. His style of defending wasn't like Maldini or Nesta. Puyol's style was more like a relentless, run after you till i get the ball kind of type. On the other hand Maldini and Nesta's style of defending was a lot more tactical. Both of them was like central midfielder player as a center back, they had an offensive game along with their master class tactical defending.
