By the way, Seulgi is saying that she lost her voice and she hid herself to practice when she was trainee. She used to practice alone because she doesn't want anyone watching her and used to go on karaoke alone. She auditioned in SM to be a vocalist but ended up being the main dancer and lead vocalist because Wendy became their main vocal. Both of them experienced losing a voice when they were trainees but glad that they sing so beautifully now.
The meaning of the last part of the video is that SM doesn't really care about their girl groups. They mistreated F(x) before and they don't promote RV that much unlike their boy groups. Although Red Velvet is one of the biggest girl group in Kpop industry right now and they got many achievements already, SM doesn't really congratulate them. But recently, with the sub unit, they are putting so much efforts and giving us a lot of contents. We are not used to it but we're happy. I hope they have the same energy when the OT5 came back.

Seulgi originally auditioned in SM as a singer but while being a trainee, she had a slump and hurt her vocal chords. Thats why she said in the video that she couldn’t sing anymore. She was so scared to sing because her throat is hurting. She thought that if she couldn’t sing anymore, she should improve her dancing. She worked hard to improve her dance and worked hard to gain her courage to sing again. Because of that, Seulgi debuted in Red Velvet as the main dancer and the lead singer. Seulgi worked really hard to be where she is right now. ❤️

Red Velvet has honestly worked so hard to get to where they are. These girls are full of talent and will always be such a good group. Thinking about all the hate receives honestly makes me cry but look at how far they got. I'm so proud of them and always will be.
And now Billboard crowns them the best live kpop group, bad boy best song of 2018, red flavor song of the decade, and they praise their versatility and discography. I would like to see those people who said it was going to be a failure group.

Seulgi's issue was that it took her so long to debut that she started doubting herself but also her body started shutting down. Anxiety gave her physical issues which prevented her from singing at all, which made everything worse because she'd been spending so long training and everything seemed futile. Every time she cries on camera (I've seen this video multiple times) I cry.
imagine having to train for 7 years, and managing to debut. i would've given up a long time ago

Five of them really go through a lots together and personally... Since this video is no Irene's personally content so I have something to add...
Actually we did not easily find Irene hard times content on variety show... because she usually dont easily talk about her hardships kind of things... She is the oldest and she is a mature and deep thinking person, She always just try to solve by herself... And one of the reason is also because she is the leader. In a variety show call "Yangnamja Show",Joy explains that the members always talk about the difficulties they are going through to each others but Irene never says anything during those times. In response to Joy, the MC shares his own experience as a leader of a group, saying that he realized if he said negative things as a leader of a group, the whole group collapses. As he explains that instead, he simply holds it in or goes to another senior to ask for advice, Irene’s eyes start becoming teary. It seems as if she has some hardships as the oldest leader of the group that she had been holding in. Irene just dont express her hardships and she is the one who cried the least in front of people even her members... For her members, Irene really like real older sister to them, also to Irene, her members are just her real younger sisters. She took care of them in the back quietly, she watch her members grow up from a teenage even a kid( Yeri) to an adult . They really is a family.
Irene also the one who go through the hard times with Seulgi in their early trainee years... There was a time that all the others girls trainee left the company... Just two of them left, they are no hope and expect when they can going to debut, at that time SM is focus on Boy groups debut... They cried together stay by each others side at that times.... Irene the leader ... Wow shes a strong woman to be able to stand firm like a pillar to the members. When they debut and all of the members are slowly breaking because of the hate they received and they started to doubt themselves and Irene never complaints and cried in front of her members because if they see her weak they would collapse. I remember being in middle school back when RV debuted and I was really shocked seeing the dislikes. I didn’t normally click like on videos back then but I did for RV to show support. I’m a big SM fan, so I understood where F(x) fans were coming from. But it doesn’t make sense and it’s absolutely stupid for senior group fans to hate on a junior group just for debuting (I really don’t know why this is a huge problem in Kpop, but it is. Ex: BTS and TXT, 2ne1 and BP, etc). It’s not their fault for their company’s decisions. I’m happy RV is and has succeeded so much, they really deserve it : )

For a group who came from a big company, Red Velvet's story is one of the most inspiring one. It took them several years to achieve where they are today. They worked really hard for it. Which is rare for big companies. Usually it takes several months or 1-2 years to get big or be known in the industry.
Irene, a leader where every member rely on. She don't show her weakness because she wants to be the wall that will protect her members. Such a good and strong leader. She's doing her best so that people can stop judging her from being visual without talent.
Seulgi suffered from Spasmodic Dysphonia (Problem in Larynx) during her trainee years. It happened when exhaustion trolled on her, her body slump and anxiety that she might not debut because of training for 7 years. She did her best to excel because she originally entered SM as vocalist but due to her vocal problem, she had to step in as a Dancer.
Wendy did have vocal nodules. She didn't want surgery so she had to take injections. But look at her now, her range and vocal technique is what set her apart to any Main Vocalist in kpop. She can use different style from RnB, soul, ballad, pop, classical and so on.
Joy improved a lot in her vocal performance. Her soft voice adds flavor to each Red Velvet song. And she's doing great in different variety shows and modelling gigs.
As for Yeri, one of the distinct voices that I've heard in Kpop. She was often judge due to her facial expressions and its so bad that people always target her for every move that she does. I hope people stop hating her. She so talented, well all of them and they don't deserve the hate. No one deserve Hate.

Seulgi got into SM because of her voice. She worked hard with her singing. But during her practice there was a problem with her voice. For such a condition maybe then seulgi should stop. But the fact is Seulgi changed course to learn the dance so hard. She became the main dancer with hard work during her trainee days. She is a hard worker. I really can't imagine how Seulgi took over the dance part for 7 years😯.

If i'm not mistaken, seulgi used to be put in as main vocalist position when she was a trainee, but before debut, there's a period she had a very serious voice problem and almost lost her voice. That dark period was like a turning point, which she started put extra effort on dancing just because she didn't want to be kicked out (the trainee system in Korean is extremely competitive especially in such big company as SM, i guess they won't wait for you if you stop improving). It's kinda amazing because after RV debut, she is well known as the dancing queen in the kpop industry but many more people also got amazed by her vocal. She's one of the most talented and professional idols i've seen in the industry, but she's also very humble and down to the earth, a true diamond in the rough ;) Love all of the members from Red velvet!!!! happy 6th anniversary!

seulgi went through a slump during her trainee period. she trained for a total of 7 years before debuting, she joined SM with her vocals but she was feeling really hesitant about her voice, she hid when she had to practice her singing bc she didnt want anyone to listen to her. bc she was going through some vocal problems she then focused on dancing too. but yeah her trainee times were rly difficult for her, her future was basically unsure. she wasn't sure if she was going to debut or not bc of the fact that during this time SM was only producing male groups. her and irene were the only ones left over. she was watching as everyone else around her debut while she was left. she trained with exo kai and fx krystal.

I'm a MeU (fx fan), but I love red velvet I'm a reveluv too. People who hate on red velvet and use fx as their reason to hate them are not MeU, they were getting mad because of so many scandal that happened to SM at that time (such as EXO members departure, EXO Baekhyun-SNSD Taeyeon scandal, Sulli-Choiza scandal and her vacuum, Jessica departure, etc.) they thought SM were just debuting red velvet to cover those scandal, RV debut happened too suddenly. SM didnt really care on how RV would getting the hate to be debuted at that period of time. Red velvet name was claimed to another indie group at that time too, it brought another hate to RV (that is the prove on how SM didnt really do any research for RV debut, SM didnt really care to RV)
Seulgi had a long time as a trainer. she suffered depression during her trainer moments, but here she is now, being considered one of the best dancer BUT seulgi is not only a dancer, she can also be a main vocal in any other group. it is not in red velvet because we have Wendy and Wendy is just a vocal GOD

When i first got to Red Velvet, immediately i knew i would love them. But it was a rough start for me, as i was in an era where big groups where here and there.
Since then from Happiness to Naughty. I have always know that RV would be my all time group (generally speaking). Not only they produce some weird but definitely great title tracks (you know how unique they are) but their bsides were and will always be on top.
I never regretted nor feel hate nor distaste to these group. Reason being not only because i consider them as a ult but look at the bigger picture. They have worked so so hard despite of poor promotion and not that big of support in their company. However Reveluvs were their to do what lacks, and now i am just glad that somehow they are getting all the recognition they deserve setting aside that they came from a big company. I appreciate SM as well because they debut this group and tried to support them recently.

PS: i went to one of their SMTOWN Concert (it is still and always will be the one of the best experience i had) and Red Velvet were such a great artist i am not kidding. When they sang live, you’ll fall in love. (And of course all their artists were great ngl)

During seulgi's part, it literally meant that she is a talented singer and started as a singer trainee at SM. But as her alongside trainee members (girl generation at that time) debut one by one, she starts to lost her confidence in singing and found it hard to sing again. Soon she starts to focus on dancing, and that's how she became the main dancer of Red Velvet. And during the 4 members together scene was not a documentary but their first appearance to the public during the company SM concert was held that year. Lastly, the one with the nodule chord problem was Wendy.

Originally, RV debuts with 4members and alr made a debut with a song called Happiness. At 13:50 it was the time that they got to perform on stage, since they just debuted that why they seems to be so nervous. After that Yeri was add to the group as a last member and made another comeback with a song called Ice Cream Cake.
