Adventurous Planting Techniques - Intensive and Companion Planting (2022 NOFA Summer Conference)

Learn how to combine two of the oldest gardening techniques: intensive and companion planting! Intensive planting has its own list of benefits, but adding the additional benefits of companion planting, especially finding plant/flower/herb combinations to deter insect pests, takes your growing to the next level. Explore how the combination leads to more beauty, an increased and more diverse harvest, improved habitat for wildlife and pollinators, and contributes to both water conservation and weed suppression. We’ll also discuss how succession planting can fit nicely into the planting scheme, adding still more to your garden.
