The P is 120lbs heavier than the 188. The test boat had two PowerPoles with two pumps and two people. The driver is no slim Jim either. Add the Atlas jack plate weight and it’s going to hurt top end. Notice you lose under seat storage because they moved the gas tank but you gain plenty of room in the battery compartment to mount the PowerPole pumps and batteries.
I know its not a water tight compartment. But even so, I like this boat a lot and I think the pros outweigh the cons.
You know not everyone is tournament. Some just like fishing.
I would have expected a little better top end with a pad hull. The non pad RT 188 runs closer to 50 mph.

The padded hull adds weight along with a heavier new transom and two power poles. I've been in a 188 with a merc pro xs and hit 51mph.

The cup holder is a piece of crap. Cheap!
