Greetings from Finland man!!! This movie is a part of so called "Cornetto trilogy" Shaun of the dead you've already seen and the last one is "The world's end"... Great reaction and you should definitely check out Point break the original!!! I didn't care much of the remake... "I'll be back" 😎
The Santa that stabs his hand at the start of Hot Fuzz is none other than Peter Jackson, the Lord of the Rings guy and yes, your Sean of the Dead video is still up. Just watched it... again.
Nobody seems to get the twin receptionist joke.
Nobody tells them nothing, because it's always a different person.
The twins being named Martin & Roger is a reference to Lethal Weapon, the main characters are Martin Riggs & Roger Murtaugh
the hopping over the fence gag in each of Edgar Wright film in the Cornetto Trilogy are so funny! They always do a different spin on it each time!
As someone who lives in semi-rural England this film encapsulates the British countryside humour like no other
Yep. I'm from Fairford in Gloucestershire so defo relate 😊
Yeah I live in Wells (the city this is shot in) and I feel very represented 😭
😭 when the officer Doris was like that's me after a few pints, and she's looking at the pig on the rotator and she's inbetween to guys 🤣💀
The whole movie plot was given away in the first 10 minutes when he’s told he’s being reassigned to the country. He tells the Chief Inspector that he can’t just make anyone disappear and the Chief Inspector says, “Yes I can, I’m the Chief Inspector.” Then Danny’s dad, who is Chief Inspector in the little town is the leader of the group making undesirables disappear from the little village.
I love this movie. Filled with great actors. 6:30 The original Equalizer. And saw 4:30 Bill Bailey live last month. The man is a genius.
Got to see Bill live a few years back, he played his guitar made from a bible it was awesome. it was coming to the end of the tour and the audience at the theatre was messing up his head because they were stranger than he was😂 Leicester has an eclectic bunch of people with a peculiar sense of humour. We really twisted his melon.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost were also in the movie *Paul,* which got mixed reviews. I love it and think it's hilarious. They're British comic book and sci-fi enthusiasts who travel to the United States to attend the annual San Diego Comic-Con.That's where it's starts, anyway. It's kind of a road trip movie. Also starring Seth Rogan, Kristen Wiig, Jason Bateman, Bill Hader, and many more recognizables.
This movie gets funnier the more you watch it lol
There's not a single ounce of fat in the movie. The editing and pacing is crisp, the dialogue and humor sparkle, the buddy cop movie homages are great, basically every single thing that happens is foreshadowing, and you'd never guess the exact twist, but the clues were in the movie the _entire_ time. Plus single thing set up gets a payoff, right down to the very end with Aaron A. Aaronson and the swan, and of course the sea mine.
So yeah, the ending is a huge swerve , but it's also completely justified, so it's a great, fun ending. I get if for some people it wasn't their thing, but there's absolutely no arguing that this isn't a very well-made movie.
That was a heck of a way for James Bond to get taken out :)
This has the greatest cast of any film I've seen.
Your Shaun of the dead reaction is indeed still up! :)
W
at 29:17 I'm like..is that a grown up Bobby Hill?..oh shit.."bobby"..
Theirs a third to the Cornetto trilogy. Worlds end.
Love it. Nicely done.
In Britain all swans beling to the king ...
When are you seeing bad boys 1-2
There’s 4 curenrtly but 1&2 are my favorite.
@@Billionviews516wait what a 4th?
Hasn’t won a poll yet but it’s been on a few!
I know I keep saying this but I'm begging you to watch flash movie please watch it soon
I love Hot Fuzz but i think it's the overrated movie of the cornetto trilogy. For me The World's end will always be the best.
Bro be making sure you see his arm tat in every thumbnail😆
🤫
you missed 99% of the jokes...not the type of movie for you
After Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz was a huge disappointment for me.
Just realised the old guy most likely did just legitimately find all those guns since the villagers had them stashed all over the place.
Bingo
“For the greater good”
the grea'er good
The greater good
@@rangerghost2474 SHUT IT
The greater good..
The greater good
'bout time, bro. lol. You gotta finish the Cornetto Trilogy, then check out Paul with Simon and Nick as well.
Skip Paul
@night1hal1 nono... it'd be a lot better if he watches Paul.. you can skip it, tho! Im cool with that. ✌️
Also, if you feel like doing a series reaction, try Spaced after the trilogy, Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are in it, many of the actors in the trilogy are form there ;)
@@themudbloodjedi8390 he will watch paul my boy primate a smoker and its a smoker movie
Ah you missed when his looking at the dvds in the supermarket, shaun of the dead was there.
The way Nick Frost say “meet the cop that can’t be stopped” in the Bristolian accent 😂😂
So looking back this cast is STACKED with great British actors. Here's a list of where you might know some of the cast from besides Simon Pegg and Nick Frost:
- Skinner is Timothy Dalton who played James Bond in two of the Bond films in the 80s. His Bond is underrated IMO.
- Danny's dad/Chief of Police is Jim Broadbent who's in a lot of things but you'd probably know him from Harry Potter (he played Professor Slughorn)
- Olivia Colman plays Doris and she's everywhere these days including the MCU (easily the best part of Secret Invasion). Still think her character's behavior in this is hilarious considering she's now an Oscar winner
- One of the "Andys" is Paddy Considine who played King Viserys on House of the Dragon
- Speaking of Westeros, the "Yarp" guy is Rory McCann who played The Hound on Game of Thrones.
- Another Game of Thrones actor is David Bradley who played Walder Frey (and Filch from Harry Potter) and the hard to understand farmer with all the guns.
- One of the cops at the beginning is Martin Freeman who played Bilbo in The Hobbit and Agent Ross in Black Panther.
- Another of the cops is Bill Nighy who played Davy Jones in Pirates of the Carribean
- Lastly the Priest is played by Paul Freeman who played Indiana Jones' rival in Raiders of the Lost Ark (while the Nazis were getting their faces melted his face was blown up by the Ark)
Also Steve Coogan
I was surprised he didn't clock Walder Frey! or maybe he did but not out loud :')
And don't forget Edward Woodward, here the chief of surveillance for the Neighbourhood Watch Alliance, won a Golden Globe in the 1980s for his role in the original US crime series 'The Equalizer'
@@peterdavis7579and he was the lead actor in the original the Wicker man . City cop who travels to a small country village with with a strange atmosphere and even stranger people
-Lucy Punch, who has played more upscale Cinderella film oldest stepsister roles than anybody.
-Bill Bailey, a standup comedy and musical legend in the UK, played the desk sergeant twins.
-Anne Reid, who has been in most UK sitcom series played the florist.
-Stephen Merchant, another comedy legend (co-wrote the original "The Office" in the UK), was P.I. Staker ('piss-taker').
Peter Jackson has an uncredited role as the Father Christmas who stabs Angel in the hand.
Did you notice some GoT and HotD actors, the Hound, Walder Frey and King Viserys..
A few but not all!
And Jim broadbent 😊 he was the archmaester at the citadel
Probably the only movie I'd recommend reacting to twice. There is so much you miss the first time around. If you pay attention the second time you will catch so many hidden details and references.
More than twice! I've watched it all the way through and as reaction vids loads of times and always spot something new!
Not only twice - if you have it on dvd or bluray, in the special features there should be a trivia/factoid version option…throughout the film there’s little text box pop ups with interesting points…
Example 1 - 39:45 any explosive shown in an action movie MUST at some point in the film explode
Example 2 - the scene where they are doing speed checks and pull the car over for speeding - is officially the SHORTEST chase in cinematic history
Example 3 - at the start, when Nicholas holds up his badge, he has the same expression as his ID
and there and dozens of not hundreds more.
I have this on dvd myself and thus I know about it lol
@@trayolphia5756 well yeah but I don't think I'd want to watch a reaction video of someone watching special features. For the first time ever I would like to see a reaction of a second watch to spot the references.
@@YukoValis I make sure to mention the special features option for this movie on any and all reactions to this film
The special features makes text boxes pop up at certain points, unless you are a super fast reader, you’d have to pause to catch every detail
Whatever happened to movies like this action packed , over the top and fun all at the same time.
Bullet Train?
@@miguelvelez7221fair point
@@miguelvelez7221Bullet Train is a fun time but has one-hundredth the depth / humor of Hot Fuzz. akin to the likes of Archer, Arrested Development, Veep - nonstop intelligent jokes.
Man, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost crack me up since Shaun of the dead. I like duos or cliques that do multiple projects together, especially comedy. (These guys & Seth Rogen, Danny McBride & James Franco *oof* make up my teenage years)
You can watch this thing over and over and you'll catch something new each time. So many references, callbacks and layers that I'm not sure there's a single breakdown video that mentions everything. One of the rare times that a "Second Time Watching" reaction video would be entertaining.
Fun Fact: The Simon Seymour Is Played By Timothy Dalton Who Used To Be Play Original James Bond From 1987 To 1989
Mad capitalisation.
'Point Break' reaction please, you'll love it.
surprises u didnt notice stephen merchent the photogropher that got crushed him and ricky gervais produce the office uk and usa version , also has been in movies with the rock, logan wolvering movie, many things mate
Merchant wasn't the photographer, he was the swan guy (Good ol P.I Staker).
This movie REQUIRES more than one watch.
The script is so tight, that there is almost not a single word of dialog that is not a setup for a later joke or the response to an earlier one.
Nothing actually get written this well! But somehow this movie did.
u needa watch the og karate kid and then eventually cobra kai
For the greater good.
The greater good
34:21 Max Payne moment right here
Dunno which ones you've watched but you need to watch ALL FOUR of the "Cornetto Trilogy" movies (one of which is unofficial lol)
Shaun Of The Dead
this one
The World's End
Paul
Simon and Martin Freeman are perfect together. But I love Simon in anything. I took to him immediately when I first found BBC a few years back. And he's fantastic as Scotty in the Star Trek movies.
Don't wait so long for the third one! Get to it soon, man!
The Santa that stabs him in the hand is Peter Jackson
This is my favorite comedy better then Shaun of the dead imo also top 10 comedy movie in my list.
“…pre-posterous.”
-Sgt. Nicholas “Angle” Angel
Many thanks for the laughs and your reaction. Always entertaining. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas.
“I’m not Janine.”
-Bob
Thanks!
Here's a cool easter egg when nick frost was looking at the pile of dvds you can see the shaun of the dead dvd with a different name
You need to see the ending of "A Better Tomorrow 2" if you really want to see a crazy shootout.
One of my faves :) love the cuts and editing style, boarders on 4th wall breaking fun. So many great lines. "I'm not made of eyes"
You should do attack the block at some point 🎉🎉
There are not a lot of movies I can give 10\10 but this is one of them
Classics ❤❤
Hot Fuzz is such an unexpected work of art. Combining a parody of buddy-cop with culty-village in the English countryside. That makes no sense at all, but it works anyway.
Did you know Lurch is The Hound from GoT?
Have you seen the outakes for Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, they are so funny!
Phenomenal film
FUNK YEAH
Check it; they all survived the explosion at the end because that's how over-the-top action movies roll!
Another movie that is similarly over the top would be "Kung Fu Hustle".
Amazing movie
This film is hilarious. 😂 Great reaction bro! 👍🏿
Thanks!
If Britain did buddy/cop genre films.
Also, when they were developing the story, they envisioned the role of 'Skinner' as a Timothy Dalton type but were having trouble casting it. Someone suggested they ask the ACTUAL Timothy Dalton, so they did. Apparently he had seen, and been impressed by, "Shaun of the Dead", so he said 'yeah!'
39:45 ACTUON MOVIE RULE - any explosives shown MUST at some point explode!!
Anyone who reads this - if you ever find a copy of this on bluray or dvd, get it, and look for the option in special feature for the trivia/factoids version.
There are pop ups through mout the entire movie which give interesting trivia and joke points.
Example … see the top…
Second example - the scene where the two get pulled over for speeding - that is officially the SHORTEST police chase in cinematic history
Get booked for speeding five times in the UK and you lose your licence.
You'll get three penalty points minimum per offence, once you go over 12, you lose your licence.
I’ve watched this film over 100 times now and I have to say it’s definitely one of my favourite comedy 🎭 action 💥horror 🔪film 🎬of all time if not one of my favourite comedies of all time.
You've only seen the Point Break Remake? Do yourself a favor and go watch the original pls
999 is the number for emergencies in the UK. So it's like police in the US using the code 911
Its a trilogy
Shaun of the dead
Hot fuzz
The worlds end
I've been looking to re-watch this and can't find it sadly
Nobody recognizes the Hound in this movie
My favorite trilogy please watch them all
It's action movie logic. Don't question it.
You need to watch more British folk horror
i love this movie, such a fun watch everytime.
I think my favorite part is ar 18:43..
One of my favorite movies
Lmao if you think 3 years ago is a long time, just wait until you're 30
It's still 26,297 hours. Try holding your breath that long.
i just don't like zombies, shaun of the dead is the weakest of the three to me
hot fuzz is a tight script and Nick Frosts best role, he nails every delivery and joke, i admit it's the best of the trio
worlds end isn't great but the first half i love, i rank it top since it's more personal to me
Recently did worlds end too and really enjoyed it
Please watch the worlds end, thatll finish the corneto trillogy. Its probably my personal favorite out of the three
Already on patreon!
I can't say how many times I have seen HOT FUZZ. I love it so much.
Same actors and director, part of the Cornetto trilogy
How has it taken so long to get to this! Madness 😮
Oh you the goat for this one! KONG NEW EMPIRE PLS!
Next week for patreon!
This trilogy is one of my favorite film trilogies (only Star Wars OT and LOTR beat it). And while I may prefer Shaun of the Dead to this, I think Hot Fuzz has a bit more rewatchability because I always pick up some new detail in rewatches (i.e., my last one I notice the only reason Nicholas *Angle* puts a toothpick in his mouth is so he can spit it out and litter in the nice clean town and piss off the Neighborhood Watch Alliance all the more). Also, the NWA might be one of the scariest group of antagonists in a comedy movie because they're perfectly willing to kill people over the smallest things that could ruin the town's image. That's honestly more horrifying than funny.
One detail I only realised recently (even though I've been rewatching this film for years) is that the model village spire that goes through Skinner's mouth is the replica of the one he pushes onto the reporter, like a mini-revenge
Hot Fuzz is fantastic.
No...that was no shoot.
You also have to react to Romeo + Juliet to get the play’s reference.
