I’m from the north by nyc i spent sometime in the widwest cause of the military and thought I was gonna hate it but spending time in Texas and Oklahoma meeting a lot of southerners made me love the south more than my own state southerners have so much culture it’s amazing how family oriented they are the hospitality is amazing I really appreciate southerners
Attention attention Zydeco is not from New Orleans what I did with this particular company was something to promote Zydeco across the United States and outside the country I am from lake Charles Louisiana born and raised I go all over teaching and talkin about zydeco music and dancing this has nothing to do with giving credit to New Orleans
Ima have to call this out not being negative but zydeco is more so from creole country and Arcadiana like near Lafayette, Lake Charles and all down through there. Even up in Marksville and Alexandria you may hear and see it but I wouldn’t say its as popular in New Orleans
I didn't read anywhere that it said Zydeco was originated in New Orleans. It clearly says a STYLE from New Orleans. That's just how lies get started!! Smh.
If your going to post a caption, make sure your information is correct. Zydeco originated in Southwest Louisiana...basically the 337/Acadiana area...hell even ppl from New Orleans would tell u this info is beyond incorrect
Zydeco is not from New Orleans. I know Mr. Guillory didn't tell you that. New Orleans is a city with its own distinct culture. If you want to expose the arts don't be lazy about the origin.
ZYDECO is a genre of music created in and around the areas of opelousas, lawtel, Plasance, Eunice....., Louisiana. The first recording at major studio was in Houston Texas. That's why folk think it originated in tx. Anybody can do it. Just let the good times roll. Hold hands, two-step and feel the music.
