Beautiful! Thank you! I have noticed in so many Churches, women are veiling. I have also noticed if there is just even one woman veiled (I shouldn't be watching others obviously but it's beautiful to see) she is only focused on the Altar, the Priest and the Mass, not who are around her. There are many, many beautiful veils available. It is not vanity, it is veiling who we are, God's creation in His Presence.
I just want to thank you as I am a 60 year old woman and remember veiling as a child! When I was little if you didn't have your head covering with you they would pin a tissue on your head, and it was not to belittle you, just always so gentle. I remember picking which hat to wear to Mass and it was always a special part of the week. I have been feeling the tug to do so again and just ordered a veil, but am nervous about it. So silly us females aren't we? My nervousness comes from something you spoke about, not wanting to call attention to myself. Yet, I can't quell this desire, so you have just given me the courage I was looking for to press ahead. Blessings to you, I so love our Catholic faith!
Wow how beautiful ! Thank you for sharing! As the devotion keeps growing (which it is rapidly) the concern of drawing attention will decrease as more and more women start to veil again. It’s so beautiful and so awesome the Holy Spirit is putting it on your heart again.
Im 51 and found my way back to the catholic church a year ago after a 30 year hiatus from the faith. I was raised in the Novus Ordo but returned and found my home in the TLM. I am the oddity not veiling but need to feel convicted to do so. I have watched many videos on veiling, and yours is the best. Thank you! I will be wearing my veil starting tomorrow at mass. 🙏 ❤️
Wow, welcome back to the faith! Praise be to God! And thank you for sharing! How has veiling been going? And what in particular do you think was most convicting?
This is the best veiling video I’ve seen! Veiling is the best thing I’ve added to my spiritual life this year and I absolutely love it 🥰 you hit all the major points and reasons why to veil! I like to call it my “white flag of surrender” :) The main reason I started veiling was to have that action of when I go into Church to say, “okay Lord, I surrender”. I also love how I feel so protected, loved, and honored by God as a woman and as me. It’s both a practice of humility and an act of honor! And what a better way for a fool like me to start acting a tiny bit more like Mary ❤ YES 🙌🏼
I’m a Catholic mom and both my little daughter and I wear veils we bought from ‘Veils By Lily’ during Mass. my daughter wears an ivory one while mine is more a light beige. Her First Communion is the 7th of May and we have her long silk tulle veil with a rose crown ready for her and she’s so excited! (That veil can also be used again when and if she ever gets married too!)
Amazing video on veiling, best one I've yet. You've explained it so well. Thank you, I bought some veils but I feel judged and haven't worn them much but I'm going to wear them from now on. 🙏🏻
Thank you so much! The Lord is with you! And if people are judging then it helps us grow in humility. Plus, veiling is coming back and in my experience, once a few start in a parish, it starts growing cause many women are thinking about it and it only takes a few brave ones to start it
Casey I sent your video to 2 women and discussed veiling with 3 other women at church today. Thank you so much. Your presentation is so compelling, introduces me to another gift of our beloved Catholic Faith. You are in my prayers. Thank you deeply.
Another nice thing about veiling is that when I veil, no one tries to chat with me before Mass. :) I love people, but not chatting with them inside the church. No one makes negative comments, but it is kind of a signal that one is more traditionally-minded, and people get that.
What an interesting point to make. I truly do think the veil shows a seriousness about the presence of the Eucharist so I can see why that is the case.
New to Veiling, I Love It.. It was put on my Heart to wear one.. The Blessed Mother is Always With me, so I prayed she would give me the courage .. she did. 🙏🏻.
@@AnnHT-b5w I’ve bought 2 @ Amazon & 3 more at Veil By Tradition I wanted to try different styles to see what suited me. Mantillas are my Favorite & Triangle for a backup & matching a dress. They are truly Beautiful tho
"Veiling signifies you have something men don't." (13:35) I'm a Christian man in an Anabaptist fellowship. We actually require veiling during waking hours so as to be in a position to pray and prophesy. Some of your points I can't entirely agree with, but your spirit is humble, wholesome, and inspiring. God bless.
One thing that really inspired me to start veiling is that I had a Muslim friend who wore a hijab. When I asked her why (because not all Muslims wear a hijab in this country), she said, "I want to be like Mary." If a Muslim can say that, why not me? :) I like the reminder of submission to God that the veil gives, and it also makes me feel beautiful. :) I know it's not supposed to be about that, but it helps, especially because I have body image issues. When I see another woman with a veil, I feel an instant connection with her. In fact, that's pretty much how I met one of my good friends. Also, I often cry at Mass (I often cry, period), and wearing a veil means always having something to wipe the tears away, haha.
I was going to post: “Most people in most churches don’t wear veils. If I start wearing one I might distract others. “ but you eloquently answered that! How are you so young and so wise? But do you also “dress up” to go to church? I dress respectfully but don’t, like wear a dress or anything.
I love your explanation and videos. In regards to veiling tho if the church says it’s not necessary but the underlying reason is practiced then I would say that women covering their head is optional.
Been veiling for 11 years. Was really scared to start at first and put it off for several years. I was scared because of I believed I'd get "holier than thou" comments. Nobody has ever said anything to me. Not negative. One person said "I like your veil". Another asked me where I was from. When I told her, she said, "no, not state, which country?" That was funny. When I first started veiling, couldn't afford a Traditional veil and I found a nylon black scarf. I drapped this scarf on my head and wrapped the excess around my neck. It was sort of "muslim-ish". I still don't wear a veil the way it's Tradionally worn (which is still very recent anyway from what I understand). My veil is a black rectangle and it has a hair tie sewn to one corner, a large button sewn to the opposite corner. The sides of my veil are buttoned in the back under my hair. I like it this way because I don't have to fuss with it staying in place or having my kids pull it off. My girls wear the same type except they switch between white and black. I make them myself. They are simple and nothing fancy. They look like lace.
@@GodNod Thank you. It's no gift really. I didn't have a sewing machine with the last set I did so our current set is done by hot gluing foldover elastic. On these, I left the elastic long at the 2 corners so they can be tied together for a snug fit. My daughters then just puts their head through the hole, pull their hair out, and pulls their veil up to their forehead.
Thank you for sharing! I love the Catholic and Orthodox tradition of veiling, although I do not go to church. In this time we learn the importance of highlighting the diffence between men and woman because in liberal culture it is disappearing. In the totality of reasing daughters wich is so difficult now a days, I think it can help girls to realize that becoming a woman is special and should be garded and saved. So it wil be more easy to save themselves to?
I think you are right. It is something beautiful that women can look forward to that distinguishes themselves from men. I pray dear sister you come back to the Church. Christ wants you and has so much to offer you.
The reasons I cover my head involve God giving Adam and Eve proper garments of mercy that I interpret to come from the skins of animals, which means an animal had to be killed so Adam and Eve’s shame could be covered. Therefore the animal skins prefigure Christ’s sacrifice. I consider clothing itself to be a symbol of God’s mercy, therefore modest choices that properly cover us honor Christ’s sacrifice. Men do not cover their heads in order to symbolize Christ being stripped of his garments. Also, thorns were placed on Christ’s head, it shows the vulnerability but women represent the church as the church is described in the feminine form and Christ is stripped and crowned with thorns but the Church is to be placed under His authority.
Usually the church is correct, but in this instance she is wrong (don’t get me wrong, I think since the church says that veiling should be voluntary, it should, I just disagree that this was a cultural thing). What Paul said was very anti-cultural; Jewish men and Roman men covered their head during worship. This “cultural”-argument keeps forgetting the men who were told to do exactly the opposite of the culture. Paul gives multiple reasons for why women should cover and men not, but culture isn’t one of those reasons. His reasons are creation, order, glory and angels.
the Bible says that woman's hair is her covering (1 cor 11;15). apostle paul never said to cover the covering which is woman's hair. what you are saying is unbiblical and false. you mislead and deceive people. our covering is Lord Yeshu Hamashiyah alone. all other external things are unbiblical and they are nothing but relying on the flesh. thats is sin.
@@GodNod jews are not hebrews so if they want to live under self-impossed impression they are welcome to do that but the Bible says nothing on this point. apostle paul says in 1 cor 11;15 that woman's hair is her covering and he says nothing about putting any veil on the covering
