    The chickens need fine gravel. They eat small rocks that stay in their gizzards and grind their food so it's easier to digest. GET GRAVEL.

      I'm way late, but fully agree. We used to have several hundred chickens, turkeys, and ducks. one of the first things we'd do when building a new pen is toss a butt ton of fine gravel in, as well as crushed oyster shells.

      I keep seeing these comments. But would you really want to be shooting a simple snake around where people are? I know it's a 22 and not a problem at all but I think the PROPER STICK did the trick!😂🤣😂 Just seems like a waste of AMMO on a small snake. And I'm pretty sure he has an EDC on him allot.

    Hey LFG, been a fan for a long time. I do pest control including snakes. You can use mothballs and place them around your yard/home and it acts as a deterrent. And that snake was not being aggressive he thinks you are a predator trying to eat him so he will defend himself. He felt the vibrations of your footsteps and did not want you stepping on him. An aggressive snake is one that actively comes at you not the ones who are coiled up.

    • @articwhite653
      @articwhite653 4 роки тому

      There are no aggressive snakes, a few will hold their ground, but almost all will flee if given the chance. If they strike at you , you have already got to close.

    Must Have Grit is stored in the gizzard and helps the chickens’ digestive system function well and breaks down the food as it should. Soluble/Shell Grit - ground up oyster shells/cockle shells and or limestone. (You can also add ground up eggshells to the mix for an extra calcium boost) You don't have to feed them lettuce, pulled up grass clipping/ weeds work fine

    I''ll post this to both channels, but for the chickens do you give them grit or oyster shells? Grit helps break down food in their crop and oyster shells gives them extra calcium. Also, you can add apple cider vinegar to their water to help keep them healthy.

  • @nathanfoote5454
    @nathanfoote5454 4 роки тому

    They need grit! Grit and small gravel sits in the gizzard and helps to digest the food. If you're hens are free range and you have a gravel driveway then you dont need to provide it. If they're cooped up, then you need to provide grit. You can layer it with the pellets or crumble you put in their feeder.

    Try getting some "Grit" for your chickens. They sale it in a bag just for chickens. But the cheaper route is construction sand. I go by a local lumber yard and get a 5 gal bucket full for a couple bucks. The chickens will munch on it and it helps digest their food. Hopefully it helps.

    I lived outside San Antonio many years ago and we had a huge problem with snakes. It was impossible to walk in the garden at night and several times we ha d to fish them out of the pool in the mornings. In the end we bought a male and female breeding pair of peacocks. They loved the warm weather and thrived on a diet of rattlers and copperheads.Anything that they cant deal with like the pigs they make a huge racket and they would probable see off your bobcat. Keep your wife and family safe.

    I have a suggestion to help with your chickens. What I suggest is to get rid of any chicken wire and use something like a cattle panel in stead then a trick that a friend of mine tried was to put cattle panel in the ground underneath the run so that nothings can dig under and get in. That might not be practical for you but it's kept coyotes and raccoons out of his coop.

    Growing up fishing/camping in various places in central/southern Missouri, I have many scary memories involving snakes. Which is probably why I dislike them so much. And dream about them sometimes. I remember us kids were walking down the gravel bar at a public campground and watched a 4 ft Cotton Mouth slither right across our path into the water. But I’ve also had many encounters with North American Water Snakes. Which are Non-venomous. They commonly are misconceptions with Cotton Mouths.

    Smith and Wesson 351 PD in .22 magnum, perfect trail, and around the property tool. It's so light, you won't even know you're carrying it. Be safe.

    About that water moccasin, I know that your friend over at demo-ranch has tested some small “buckshots” for a small .22 caliber (I think) you should bring a small handheld pewpew with some of those ammunition, to take them out! And you might even consider a catch and cook! I know that I would try! Or maybe invite Flair and dare him! 😜

    To help you out with your chickens on the respiratory part is to not let them live in a very wet area and the oil is a very good idea to use

    Put some brush around the back of the trap and on top in the sides . I found out trapping back home when I was a teenager to get him off the farm lands you get a lot more hogs for some reason when you put brush on the back Side because they feel that they were sheltered

    You should get some RedWing snake boots. And a .22 with a little reflex sight is a perfect snake dispatching pew pew.

    For good hog bait put old diesel fuel and corn in a five gallon bucket(the corn should be completely submerged in diesel fuel), stir it up, and let it sit in the sun for a few days. You don’t have to use old diesel, but it works better if you do.

    LFG sound like you need to carey something for the bittting sticks maybe 22 with rat shot . But something bigger for the running hams like 44 magum if not a big boom stick.

    You have to get some scarecrow sprinklers for around the chickens they detect motion and spray water in the direction almost instantly. Even helps with hogs
